Hi, just a side note. This story isn't one of my top priorities meaning it doesn't get updated much. I only really pay attention to this if I get bored or see that it's getting votes, so yeah... :)
Faking Cliché - Chapter 4
'Not his type' my ass. Grinding my teeth, I stomped over to Raven once class was dismissed. Her eyebrows furrowed seeing me fuming.
"Wh-"
I cut her off, "You told me he'd be into quiet nerds! But no, he's a bad boy manwhore. He's exactly like me, in every way, apart from the gender!"
I wasn't kidding. Even the manwhore part. Yeah, I'd had many one night stands in my time. Although, I hated to admit I hadn't done the dirty for a few months.
Rolling her eyes, Raven laid back in her chair.
"Alright. I may have lied."
I went to yell, but she rushed out the rest of her explanation.
"I just wanted you to have fun this time around. I knew that if you'd come to this school as usual, you and Levi would already probably be in some janitor's closet somewhere." I smirked as she continued, "So, I decided to change things up a bit. C'mon. Aren't you bored of having all the guys come to you?"
I paused, thinking about it. Her reasoning seemed plausible. Shrugging, I agreed.
"Fine. Your reason sounds legit. I'll go along with this torture, but I'm adding a deadline. One month. After that, I'm going after Levi as Mercy." I smirked, watching her face go red.
"You-"
"Later!" I ran out of the room as soon as she got out of her chair.
Snickering, I rounded the corner. Only to stop dead in my tracks. Man, this kid. Levi had a girl pressed up against a locker, his hands disappearing underneath her shirt. She was on the skinny side, but that didn't stop them from dry humping at 10 in the morning in the middle of the school hallway. If he was anything like me than I wasn't sure if I'd be capable of changing him and his player ways.
"Lucky you. Your target's Mr hump 'em and dump 'em."
Dex appeared next to me, grinning. I raised an eyebrow.
"Like you're any better." I scoffed, making my way to my next class, which was, thankfully, with Dex.
He kept up with me, running a hand through his hair.
"Please. I take the girl out atleast twice." He said and I gave him a pointed look.
"Alright. I take out most of the girls twice. Depends on whether they were any good or not." He smiled cheekily and I shook my head. I couldn't exactly judge him. I was the same.
We talked as we made our way to third period and as we entered, I looked around at the almost full classroom. Geez, the bell hadn't even rung yet. Dex brushed past me, sitting next to a busty blonde and I glared at him.
'Next conquest.' He mouthed and I restrained myself from flipping him the bird in front of the class. Asshole.
There was only one table left in the back. This was science class and the tables were made for pairs. I just hoped I'd get paired with someone who wouldn't mind doing all the work. Stupid traitorous Dex. Still sulking, I didn't realize that someone had pulled out the chair next to me and sat down.
"Hey." My eyes darted to the side and I didn't know whether to grin or sigh. Levi sat next to me with a friendly smile on his face. He didn't look like he'd had a makeout session just a few seconds before. His lips weren't swollen at all and his hair was as stylish as it was before school started. Impressed, I returned the smile.
"Sorry, I forgot about showing you around. I can do it at lunch if you want." He said and the apology sounded so sincere.
Faking shyness, I began fiddling with my fingers and bit my lip.
"I, Um... If you're free, then I'd like that." I said quietly, wanting to thump myself over the head. I hated this act and I hadn't even completed one day of school.
Levi's smile stayed in place as he nodded.
"What class do you have next? I'll pick you up after fourth period ends." He said and I almost clicked my tongue. Smooth.
I rummaged through my bag, grabbing my timetable. Keeping my eyes downcast, I slid it across the table towards him. In the corner of my eye, I saw his mouth twitch at my hesitation. I felt his hand brush against mine as he took a look at my timetable and I began shaking my leg under the table, a habit of mine when I was either nervous or needing a distraction. Levi's eyes scanned the piece of paper, his eyes widening a fraction.
"Wow, you have the same classes I do."
I was taken aback. Raven had managed to get me into AP classes, even though I learned at a fifth grade standard. Levi, on the other hand, I would not have expected to have a high mental capability. I guess I was too quick at judging his character. Great, now I'd have to control myself throughout the whole day. Whoopdy - frickin - Doo.
*******
The bell rung, signalling the end of fourth period and the start of lunch. All the students instantly began packing away, pushing and shoving to get out of the room first. Stretching, I stood up and made my way into the hallway. I felt a presence appear at my side and turned my head.
"You want that tour now?"
He flashed a charming smile and I wanted so badly to throw him one of my flirtatious looks. That or drag him to the nearest empty classroom.
I smiled, "Sure."
Ten minutes into the tour and I was itching to run to lunch. Levi and I weren't making progress seeing as how someone would come and greet him every few seconds. Bored, I took my eyes away from a girl pushing her boobs up in Levi's face and turned my attention to the clock on the wall. 12:15. Hmm, we'd been walking longer than I thought. It was at that moment that my stomach rumbled and, thankfully, the girl nor Levi heard.
"Hey," I tapped him on the shoulder and quietly mumbled that I'd be heading on to lunch. I got a nod of acknowledgement before he returned to getting his flirt on. Well, guess this jerk-ness was part of the package. Starving, I burst into the cafeteria and nearly screamed at seeing the line that stretched across the room.
"Sadie!"
I turned my head at the mention of my name to find Raven waving me over to a table in the corner. Weaving my way through the crowd, I advanced towards the table. That is, until there was a gasp and I felt something warm and mushy on my chest. The cafeteria chatter suddenly died down and I could feel my temper rising.
"Isn't that the new girl?"
"I heard she's related to Mercy Kinsley."
"Do you think they share the same personality?"
I overheard whispers and grit my teeth. A girl stood in front of me, eyes wide and mouth agape. Her train of sight was on my chest, which was covered in spaghetti. Taking deep breaths, I tried reigning in my temper. Only to fail. I could hear people snickering and feel them pointing. Fuming, I opened my mouth to give her a piece of my mind.
"I'll take care of this. Here, buy yourself a new lunch."
A tanned hand reached over my shoulder and dropped a wad of cash into the girl's outstretched hand. Confused, I turned around. Levi grinned, eyes twinkling.
"You didn't really think I'd ditch you that quickly, did you?" He asked, taking a hold of my wrist and pulling me out of the cafeteria.
"C'mon. I'll let you borrow one of my gym shirts." He said as he led me out. I shot a look towards Raven who gave me a thumbs up. Aw man. I hadn't eaten yet.
*******
"Here. It'll be big, but I don't have anything else you can borrow." Levi handed me a plain black shirt and I nodded a 'thanks', heading into the bathroom.
I looked in the mirror and grimaced. It was bad enough I was wearing pink and white. Now there was spaghetti sauce all over me. Tugging the sticky shirt of me, I held back a groan of disgust. Ew. I quickly pulled Levi's shirt on. Guess he wasn't that much of a jerk. Then again, I'd only just met him, so I could be completely wrong. The shirt was a little long and I contemplated tying it at the waist, but then remembered I had to be 'conservative'. Restraining myself from punching the mirror, I exited the bathroom. Levi was leaned up against the wall. As I came out, he smiled.
"You wanna continue the tour?" He questioned and I smiled.
"Sure."
*******
Groaning, I entered my apartment. My parents had bought it for me a few months ago, sick of me trashing the house/mansion whenever they'd go on business trips. Grumbling, I trudged into my bedroom, stripping my clothes off in the process. By the time I actually reached my room, I was only wearing my underwear. After dumping my clothes in the laundry basket, I jumped into the shower in the adjoining bathroom. As I stood under the freezing water, I tried to think of who I could call to rid me of this... Urge. It was all Levi's fault. You try keeping yourself from jumping a 6 foot male oozing sex appeal. He didn't even try to flirt with Sadie, which I was pissed about. Even the school's player didn't want anything to do with me. Well, me. It was the first day of school and I was already having issues.
Wearing a towel, I stood in front of the wardrobe with my phone pressed against my ear.
"Hey nerd. What do you want?" Came Dex's lovely greeting.
I chewed my lip, sifting through the racks of clothing.
"You free tonight?" I asked and I could picture him smiling at what he said next.
"Using me to fulfill your urges again? I thought we grew out of this."
Rolling my eyes, I grabbed a pair of underwear and chucked it onto the bed behind me.
"No, you douche. I wanna go to a club. I need alcohol."
He sighed and I put the phone on speaker, placing it on my bed.
"And here I thought you wanted me, Mercy. Got me all worked up for nothing."
I chuckled, "So you coming or not?"
The line was silent for a few seconds before Dex replied.
"Alright. I'll swing by in an hour."
The line went dead and I repeated the process with Raven and a few other of my buddies. After I'd finished calling everyone, I threw on my chosen outfit: a loose red top showing of my midriff and a pair of black shorts. As I slipped on some wedge heels, I tugged the ends of the shorts down. Shorts nowadays were seriously just another term for underwear. I didn't mind, most of the time. There was a knock at the door and my eyebrows furrowed. I glanced at the clock. Nine already? Grabbing my phone and some cash, I exited my bedroom and headed for the front door. I opened the door and Dex scanned my outfit, an appreciative smirk appearing on his face.
"Safe to say I prefer Mercy to Sadie." He murmured before bringing his attention back to my face, "Let's go. Bea's waiting in the car."
I raised an eyebrow, "Bea?"
Grinning, he moved back as I shut the door behind me.
"Yeah. You know that chick I sat next to in biology."
Ah, the the girl with the massive jugs.
"The chick you ditched me for." I pointed out, getting inside the elevator.
Smirking, Dex pressed the ground floor button, "jealous much?"
I punched him in the stomach, but only ended up hurting myself considering how hard it was.
"Touching me already?" He joked, "I thought you'd atleast wait for me to get some alcohol into my system."
I ignored him. Dex was one annoying little shít. The elevator doors dinged and I hoped that I'd be able to relax tonight.
*******
When Dex, his chick and I had arrived, Raven and the others were already there. She waved us over and I grinned, hopping up onto a bar stool and ordering a drink.
"What made you want to come here?" She asked and I gave her a pointed look.
"Need Levi out of my system. Do you know how close I was to raping that boy?" I said and she made a face.
"Ah. You're here to pick up a guy."
I didn't respond. I wasn't here on the intention to pick some guy up, but if one decided to approach me, I'd mostly likely go along with them. Raven began chatting with some other girls and I tuned out, scanning the dark room. Neon lights flashed across the dance floor and I averted my eyes from the grinding couples to the club entrance. I could feel the bass as it resounded again and again. The bartender handed me my drink and I thanked him, still eyeing the entrance. I could see the back of someone and it struck me as familiar. They had dark hair and a very nice build. Sipping my drink, I watched the person turn with a girl under their arm. I nearly choked on my drink. Perfect timing.
"Raven." I called and she turned towards me, "look who's here."
She caught sight of Levi and, wide eyed, began to shake her head furiously.
"No." She said firmly, "No, Mercy. You said you'd give it a month."
I scoffed, "Yeah, but I was referring to when I was in school. I never said anything about what I'd do if I came across him out of school."
Raven gave me a pleading look and I raised an eyebrow. Why did she want me to do this so badly? Shrugging, I gulped down my drink.
"Fine." I said and she sighed in relief, "I won't approach him."
I don't think she got my tone of voice because she smiled and turned back to the other girls. Oh, Raven. I thought she'd know by now that I can't be ordered around. Not from teachers, not from parents (well, kinda.) and certainly not from her.
I caught sight of Levi sitting at a booth on the far side of the dance floor, his eyes scanning the crowd even though he had a girl sitting on his lap. An idea came to mind and I smirked. Slipping off the bar stool, I called over my shoulder.
"Who wants to dance?"
