Section 1 will include some helpful tips on handling the challenging behaviors that come with allism spectrum disorders.
Some of these behaviors include:
-lack of self-regulatory stims
-eye contact
-abnormal social obsession or dependency on others
-judgmental attitudes and prejudiced behaviors
-gossip, bullying and other attention-seeking social behaviors
- overly flexible thinking
- "boredom" and distractibility
- refusal to develop specialized interests
- small talk or idle chitchat
Some therapeutic treatments for these behaviors include:
- planned ignoring
- 45 hours a week of Applied Behavioral Autistification
-The Son-Rise program
-chelation therapy
- playgroups dedicated to decreasing social skills
-one-on-one appointments with a special interest development counselor
