**** So my homegirl @Sonotfetch has come up with brilliant plans to kill off characters we hate in certain folks books. She wrote this book called BluePrints with the plans in there lol. She has one for Amber mama. Please read this girl's plan if you didn't see her comment lol. It's hilarous. You can check out her book here.

AMBER P.O.V. –

I woke up to the sun beaming through the open patio doors and the soft sounds of Nothing Even Matters by Lauryn Hill feat D’angelo playing from Aug’s phone.

The comforting cool breeze hit my face, as I rubbed my eyes and yawned. I looked over at the clock on the nightstand, and it read 11 am.

I had planned on getting up early to have breakfast at this Parisian café on the corner, but after last night, those plans were dead.  I was too tired.

I slipped on my house shoes and robe, and stood in the doorway of the patio.

August was sitting in one of the outdoor lounge chairs, smoking a Cuban Cigar he had picked up from this smoke shop we found on our way back from KFC last night.

I mentally laughed looking at him. He was laid back in the chair smoking, shirtless with his basketball shorts, like he was in some rap video shot in Miami.

“You really think you a boss don’t you?” I walked over to the empty chair further across from him, and sat down.

“I think you can answer that better than I can.” He exhaled smoke.

I rolled my eyes at his arrogance. “You’re not a boss. You run nothing but your shoes over.”

“I ran that pussy last night.” He took a puff of his cigar, and slyly looked over at me.

“Please. On a scale from 1 to 10, you’re a 1.”

He laughed. “Yeah, okay.” He took another puff of his cigar.

“I’m serious. I’ve had better.” I looked serious.

He put his cigar in the ashtray, and sat up putting his feet on the ground and forearms on his knees.

“Who? Cause ain’t no nigga topping my head or dick game. Believe Dat.”

“Idris.” I looked up at the sky then back at him.

He went into gut busting laughter and laid back down picking up his cigar.

“Why is that funny? He is better than you.” I smirked.

“Idris. Is that your vibrator you got underneath the bed in that box?”

“You been going through my shit?” I was embarrassed and slightly mad he was nosey.

“No, my shoes were under there. I knocked the box over and it fell out. But I threw it away before we left.”

“You what?”

“You heard what I said.” He blew out smoke.

“Why would you do that?”

“Cause after this trip you gon only need one dick. And that’s mine.”

“Oh my God.” I rolled my eyes and sat back.

“Are you really mad?”

“I bought that August.  It was mine. Whether you wanted me to have it or not.”

He just chuckled.

“On top of that, you’re not going to always be around.”

“Then you feen for me until I get there.  Why you sitting so far away?”

“I don’t like the smell of smoke. My mother used to chain smoke and I just, I can’t deal with it.”

He took one last puff of his cigar and put it out.

“Come over here.” He patted on his lap for me to sit.

I went over, sat between his legs and laid back on him.

“Can I have my morning kiss?”

“It’s almost afternoon.”

He gave me a look.

I let out an over dramatic sigh and reached up and kissed his cheek.

“Really?” He looked at me.

“You just got done smoking a cigar. I don’t want that taste in my mouth.”

“Don’t play with me Amber.”

I rolled my eyes and gave him a real kiss. I hated the smoke after taste. And he purposely kissed me for a long time not letting my lips go, so I could taste it.

He smirked as we pulled away.

“You wrong for that.” I rolled my eyes.

“What we doing today?” He grinned.

“Going to the top of Eiffel tower, that’s tonight though. A couple of museums. And it’s this street where all the artist be, I want to have our picture drawn.”

“When the boat ride?”

“That’s tomorrow night.”

He clicked on his camera and held it up where both of us were showing.

“Niggas in Paris. Can see the Eiffel Tower from here.” He turned the camera to the Eiffel tower.

He turned it back toward him. “Food nasty as shit. Amber got me eating horsemeat.” He turned the camera toward me.

 “He loved it.”

He turned the camera to his face, “I made her ass walk to KFC like Diddy did them on Making the Band.”

“He’s exaggerating. We went together.”

He shook his head, “I made her walk.”

“Whatever.”

“Tonight I’m getting some cuddy. Ain’t that right Amb?”

“No.”

He laughed. “Ey Kay, Chay, and Noonie. Miss y’all. Tell em’ hey Amb.”

“Hey girls. We’re going to bring you something back”

“Stacy we miss your thot ass too. Thanks for dropping us off at the airport.”

“Ignore him Stacy. We gon get you something to girl.”

“Peace y’all.” He held up two fingers.

He cut off the video, and nibbled on my neck.

“Stop.” I pushed him off.

He took a letter out his pocket.

“What’s that?”

“You love me?” He had a worried look on his face.

“Of course. What’s wrong?”

“I got something I need to tell you.”

I furrowed my eyebrows. “What?”

“This braud I used to mess with, she hit me with a paternity suit.”

My eyes got wide and I turned to look at him.

“Are you serious?”

“Yeah man. I took the paternity test and these are the results.” He looked down.

“How long has this been going on?”

“I found out a couple of weeks ago.” He looked back up at me. “I was trying to find the right time to tell you.”

“And you think this is the right time?” I stood up.

“Better to get it out the way now.”

He handed me the paper.

“I don’t even wanna see it.” I started for the patio door.

I’m done with this nigga and his secret lives.

“Just read it.” He stood up, holding out the letter.

I snatched it and he looked down.

I took a deep breath before opening it and when I saw what it was, I hit him upside the head with the paper.

He started laughing and grabbed me. “Stop hitting me.”

“Why would you do that?” I gave him a straight face.

“To get you back at you from yesterday.” He rubbed my chin.

“I was about to loose it.”

“I know.” He laughed and sat back down.

I sat on his lap, straddling him.

“Baby this is amazing, though.” It was his acceptance letter to UPenn.

“You think so?” He blushed.

“Hell yes, this is the top school for dentistry! I’m so proud of you.” I hugged him and kissed his lips.

He wrapped his arms around my waist.

He played with the cloth belt on my robe.

“Too bad I’m not going though.”

“What you mean you not going? This is a fucking Ivy League school. Like Harvard. Like Yale.”

“I know.”

“So why wouldn’t you go?”

“I already submitted my stuff to Emory. I’m just gon stay in Atlanta for grad school.”

“Why?”

He was silent just looking in my eyes, while twisting his lips.

Then I got it. “No August. No. You’re going.”

He shook his head and smiled.

“I am not letting you pass up your dream school to stay with me.”

“You’re not letting me past up anything, I’m making my own decision.”

“No August. Not many African-Americans, let alone black men, get in there. It’s stupid to past this up.”

“You gon come to Philly with me?”

“What? No. I can’t with work. And then I’d have to sell my house.”

“Aight then. I’m not going.”

“I’ll come visit you on the weekends.”

“It won’t be the same.”

“We can make it work.”

“I already made up my mind.” He sat back.

“Why would you--.” My sentence was cut off by the lump in my throat and tears forming in my eyes.

“Why you crying babe?” He furrowed his eyebrows

“Because. I don’t want to be the reason to hold you back.”

He laughed. “You not holding me back. Schools come and go. But what we have, that’s once in a lifetime.”

“That’s crazy. Like…like…I’m not even worth that. You sacrificing your dreams. ” I wiped my eyes.

“My brother told me before he died, “Yung all this material shit gon fade. But when you find a woman that’s down for you. Somebody that’ll be there whether  a nigga on the bus or a limo, you keep her. She the one gon be there when the smoke clear and it’s nothing left but you. I found that shit, and I’m not letting go. As long as I’m a dentist, the school don’t matter. But it does matter whose my wife and the mother of my kids. And that’s you. And if that means I gotta pass up on my dream school to be next to you everyday, I’m willing to do it.”

“August.”

“I don’t want to talk about it no more. Get ready so we can go.” He kissed my forehead and went inside.
