Bella Kingston POV
23 years old, lives in NYC with her boyfriend and is currently doing a paid internship at a nearby hospital.
There isn't much to do in mid February in NYC so Tyler and I mostly just hang out at our apartment. I have a love/hate relationship with Valentines day. Since he plays in the MLB 2 days from now Tyler will be leaving for spring training and I won't see him for at least a month.
"Are you hanging out with Deylia today?" Tyler asked
"Why would I? I should be spending more time with you considering you leave in 2 days." I said
"I just thought maybe you could go to the mall with my sister for a couple hours." Tyler said
"Why can't we go to the mall together since it's valentines day?" I asked
"JT and I have an errand to run and it will help me if I know you are busy with your best friend." Tyler said
I texted Deylia and 5 minutes later we were leaving for the mall.
"Are you and Tyler fighting?" Deylia asked
"No, he just has a secret errand to run with JT and doesn't want me to be at our apartment for a few hours." I said
"That's odd because JT didn't say anything to me about having plans with Tyler today." Deylia said
We got to Queens center mall about 45 minutes later.
"What stores should we shop at?" I asked
"American Eagle, Forever 21, and the rest of the stores you can choose." Deylia said
We each got a pair of Jeans and a t shirt from American eagle. From Forever 21 both Deylia and I bought a dress. For lunch we ate at Applebees and then decided it was time to leave the mall before we bought more clothes.
"Do you think Tyler and JT want us back at the apartments yet?" I asked
"Screw it, It's valentines day and I just really want to be with JT now." Deylia asked
"I know the Mets and the Yankees have spring training in different parts of Florida so JT and Tyler won't be seeing each other but I expected to spend the entire day with my boyfriend today." I said
"I do love hanging out with you Bella but I just thought it being valentines day JT would of planned to spend the day with me." Deylia said
Deylia and I got back to the apartments. I lived with Tyler and Deylia lived with JT but our apartments were right next to each other.
"So can we spend the rest of the day together or am I gonna get kicked out of our apartment again?" I asked
"Are you mad at me?" Tyler asked
"Kind of, it's valentines day and you are acting like you don't want to spend time with me." I said
"I never wanted you to get mad at me and I was only suggesting you leave so you didn't find out what I was planning." Tyler said
"What is the surprise?" I asked
"You will find out soon." Tyler said
"Like tonight?" I asked
Tyler responding with a kiss.
"Are you still mad?" Tyler asked
I replied by kissing Tyler back
For dinner we went to a restaurant known for it's pizza and Italian food. We ordered a small pizza and also lasagna so we had plenty of food left over.
"You know Deylia and I first lived only about an hour from where we live now. She was 4.5 years when we moved to Rosewood and I was 3.5 years old." Tyler said
"One of these days maybe we can find the house." I said
"I don't even know the address since I was to young when we moved but I bet my mom and dad still remember." Tyler said
"I lived in London until I was almost a teenager and my parents just moved back into our old house." I said
"I got home opener tickets for you and Deylia since the Yankees home opener is a different day then the mets." Tyler said
"I can't go to the game since it's the same day my parents are getting remarried." I said
"Why didn't you tell me this before?" Tyler asked
"I have told you like 3 times Tyler." I said
"I remember you telling me but I didn't realize you were going to the wedding." Tyler said
"It's my parents Tyler plus my mom asked me to be her maid of honor so I have to go." I said
"Can't you aunt just take over your role as the maid of honor?" Tyler asked
"You don't understand how important this is to my parents Tyler." I said
"I do but they are just getting remarried so it's no big deal." Tyler said
"Have your parents ever split up for years and then fell in love again? No so you have no understanding of why this is so important to both my parents and myself." I said
"Fair point but I still don't see why your mom would want to re marry your dad. Your dad isn't a good person Bella." Tyler said
"My dad isn't nearly as great as your dad but he is still my dad and my mom is happy with him despite all of his mistakes." I said
"Can we just talk about us because that's what we really should be talking about tonight?" Tyler asked
"What about us do we need to talk about?" I asked
"Trust and love Bella because that's what we really need to talk about." Tyler said
"Easy, I trust you, you trust me and we both love each other enough not to screw up our relationship again." I said
"What worries me is that your internship is ending soon and that means you will have time to do other things and meet other people." Tyler said
"I'm not going to go out on dates just because my internship is over and you will be away half the time between now until possibly October." I said
"I trust you but we spent most of the last 3 months fixing our relationship and I just don't want to mess things up for us again because I play major league baseball." Tyler said
"We just have to make more of an effort to keep our relationship good even when we can't see each other." I said
"I'm just thinking that we should make our relationship more official." Tyler said
"What's more official then everyone knowing that I'm dating a baseball player. I can't even walk around Rosewood without people recognizing me for who I'm dating?" I asked
"I planned for something a little more official then that." Tyler said before getting up from the table.
"I know our relationship hasn't always been the best. There were plenty of times in the past year that I wanted to be there for you and I couldn't because of my career. Our phone conversations had turned into you talking about your hospital internship and me recapping the baseball game. We didn't get to spend each others birthdays together. I couldn't even text back when you needed my advise on something until hours later. From here on out our relationship can only get better and this question is only the first step towards our future together. Bella Kingston, Will you marry me?" Tyler asked
"Yes." I said
Tyler payed for dinner and then we went back to our apartment.
"Be honest with me, who came up with that proposal speech you or JT?" I asked
"Mostly JT but he also said that I should propose only at the apartment and not out in public." Tyler said
"Why didn't you wait until now to propose?" I asked
"That moment just felt right even though it might not have been the smartest decision." Tyler said
"It doesn't matter to me if there are photos or videos on someone's cell phone." I said
"Bella if someone were to post a photo or video online then it's only a matter of time before everyone finds out." Tyler said
"Do I need to set an alarm for 2 am in order to call my parents when it's 7 am in London?" I said
"No but I do know that your parents aren't going to want to find out from an online website."Tyler said
"Should I text them now?" I asked
"I would just to be sure that they find out from you." Tyler said
I texted my parents that Tyler and I are now engaged. Deylia already texted my congrats on the engagement meaning JT most have told her.
*The Next Day*
"I have another surprise for you Bella." Tyler said
"What would that be?" I asked
"Eat your breakfast and I will tell you." Tyler said
It took me awhile to eat breakfast because I kept getting texts from everyone I knew. There has to be a picture on the internet by now because I know Deylia wouldn't have told everyone we know.
"This is crazy." I said
"Would you have rather the proposal been in this apartment and then we could have kept the engagement between us?" Tyler asked
"No but we might have to get married in London so we can keep our plans more private." I said
"Or a Rosewood wedding but somewhere no one besides family and friends would be smart enough to figure out." I said
"Do you know of a secret place in Rosewood?" Tyler asked
"My aunt and uncles favorite spot since they were sixteen or my grandparents guest house barn." I said
"Is there an option for getting married in New York?" Tyler said
"I don't know because I think everyone in the state would show up at the wedding and not to be mean or anything but I don't want a bunch of people we don't know showing up at the wedding." I said
"My parents house could be another Rosewood option." Tyler said
"Maybe but i'm not really feeling a backyard wedding." I said
"True plus our wedding is going to need to be in the fall or winter because I'm going to be playing all spring and summer." Tyler said
"Is it possible to do a spring or summer wedding if we wait until next year?" I asked
"Maybe but we really wouldn't be able to go on a honeymoon until after baseball season is over." Tyler said
"Not everyone goes on a honeymoon the day after their wedding." I said
"I know but I don't want you to think that I'm putting baseball before us." Tyler said
"Are you even going to have time to plan our wedding with me? I asked
"I will have some time but I'm sure my sister can help with the planning." Tyler said
"It's our wedding Tyler, I don't mind if Deylia helps but you should be doing most of the planing with me." I said
"Believe me I want to plan the wedding with you but you can work on wedding planing with Deylia when I'm at away games." Tyler said
"If your mom asks to help plan the wedding should I let her help us?" I asked
"Don't make any major wedding decisions without talking to me first but yes knowing my mom she will help out." Tyler said
"Is it time for the second surprise yet?" I asked
"Almost, we are meeting JT and Deylia at the Animal shelter in an hour." Tyler said
"How is that a surprise?" I asked
"We are adopting a dog. JT and Deylia are also adopting a dog. Having a dog is going to make things easier when I'm away playing baseball games. JT thought the same thing for Deylia. This way the both of you can spend even more time together." Tyler said
At the shelter Deylia and I fell in love with all the dogs especially the puppies. Deylia and JT ended up adopting a male German Shepard puppy. Tyler and I ended up adopting a female Golden Retriever puppy. After the animal shelter the 4 of us went to the pet store together to pick out all things we needed/wanted for our new puppies.
"This puppy thing wasn't the best thought out idea considering I'm the one that's going to be taking care of her most of the time." I said
"Yes but technically you and Deylia will be taking care of both puppies together. " Tyler said
"Deylia and I may be walking the puppies together but I'm sure she feels the same way." I said
"I know my sister and having a dog will make her happier." Tyler said
"What am I supposed to do when I go to London because I'm not putting her on a plane?" I asked
"Deylia will take care of her plus I will be here part of the time you are in London so you don't have to worry about that at all." Tyler said
Tyler's POV
I love my career as a major league baseball player but I hated leaving Bella. Sometimes it was for a month or more but sometimes it was only for a few days. This time it's going to be for about 6 weeks since she will be in London for another week once I get back to NYC.
"Did you hear that Faith is helping out with the team this year?" A teammate asked
"No and who is Faith?" I asked
"The manager's daughter, didn't you meet her last year at the team party." He asked
"I didn't go to that party because I had a family dinner that night." I said
"Oh right because you felt guilty about helping your friend out and causing us to loose." He said
"That isn't what happened, it was just an honest mistake." I said
"Your girlfriend might have believed that story but we all know that isn't true." He said
"Can't you just forget about last season and move on?" I asked
"Only if you do something else worth talking about." He said
"Like what?" I asked
"Go on a date with Faith and the team will make bets on how long it takes you to fall in love with her." He said
"Never, I'm not cheating on Bella." I said
"Bella wouldn't even have to know." He said
"It's still not happening." I said
One week later my team talked me into going out for drinks after a long day. I knew it was a bad decision from the moment I said yes but I didn't want to be the only one not going out for drinks. Faith started to flirt with me and my non sober mind decided nothing was wrong with a little flirt. My non sober mind invited Faith back to my hotel room. I didn't have any friends on this team anymore so I had my own room because no one wanted to room with me.
The next morning I woke up with a headache and quickly realized the mistake I made. Flashbacks from last night were flashing in my mind.
"So nobody on my dads team likes you?" Faith asked
"Last year I had friends on the team, this year the same guys think I purposely made a pitching mistake and cost the Mets a world series." I said
"I guess I can see that when you were pitching to your best friend and even your sister was routing for her boyfriends team." Faith said
"Deylia was and still is cheering for both her boyfriends team and her brothers team." I said
Faith and I kissed. It was only a matter of time before one little kiss lead to more then just kissing.
Faiths voice pulled me out of the flashback.
"So about last night?" Faith said
"Last night meant nothing." I said
"I was going to say that last night meant something to me." Faith said
"Faith, no one and I mean no one can find out about last night." I said
"If you really are engaged to your high school girlfriend then why didn't you tell me last night before we slept together?" Faith asked
"I was drunk Faith, to be honest Bella wasn't even in my mind last night but I do love her." I said
My phone started ringing as soon as I said Bella's name and it was her.
"Please leave for however long this call takes." I said and Faith left my hotel room.
"Hello." I said
"Am I calling at a good time?" Bella asked
"Yes and I actually have the day off so we can talk for as long as you want." I said
"You have the day off meaning I can skip my shift at the hospital today and fly to Florida so we can see each other." Bella said
"Bella as much as I would love that seeing as I have no friends here don't screw up the last few weeks of your internship to see me." I said
"You know I can call in sick and my dad can fax a doctors note to prove it even if I'm not really sick." Bella said
"I'm not going to stop you from doing that but I am going to tell you that I think it's a bad idea." I said
Bella and I talked a bit longer and then said our goodbyes. I had a feeling she wasn't going to listen to my advise and fly to Florida anyway. A few hours later Bella was knocking at my hotel door.
"Are you going to go against my advise all the time?" I asked
"I heard that song on the radio both before and after we talked on the phone and I just knew I had to see you. Face Time just isn't the same thing." Bella said
"I like me better when I'm with you". I said
"I thought you would be happy to see me." Bella said
"I am happy but you can't fly to me every time I have a day off." I said
"Did you have any plans for the rest of the day?" Bella asked
"Nothing planned but laundry." I said
"Well then you have plenty of time for me." Bella said
I decided to wait and do laundry later because I do love Bella and want to spend as much time as I can with her.
"How is life back in NYC?" I asked
"Not as fun without you but Deylia and I have been hanging out a lot." Bella said
"Deylia is taking care of our puppy while you are in Florida right?" I asked
"Yes, also after my internship ends Deylia and I are going to drive back to Rosewood for a week and take the puppies with us." Bella said
"Why back to Rosewood?" I asked
"Just for a visit. Your mom and dad already said we could stay with them plus so did my aunt and uncle." Bella said
"I'm just warning you that my mom is going to try and talk you into planning our wedding." I said
"Do you want her to because if that's what you want then I'm all for it?" Bella asked
"No not really." I said
"Then you have to tell her no." Bella said
"We have to tell her no together since this is our wedding." I said
Bella and I spent the next few hours talking a bit more before sleeping together and cuddling in bed together.
"Are you starving because I missed lunch today and I could really go for dinner asap?" Bella asked
"Is carry out okay or would you rather eat out at a restaurant?" I asked
"Carry out is fine just surprise me with whatever you want." Bella said
Bella's POV
Tyler got dressed and left his hotel room to get dinner for us. 15 minutes later there was a knock on the door, I knew it wasn't Tyler because he left with his room key plus it hadn't been long since he left to get dinner. When I heard the knock for the second time I got curios and opened the door.
"Who are you?" I asked
"Faith Summers" She said
"How do you know my fiancee?" I asked
"My dad is the New York Mets Manager." Faith said
"Ok but why did you knock on Tylers hotel room door?" I asked
"I was letting him know that the coaches and manager decided to hold a team meeting at 7 pm tonight." Faith said
"That is 2 hours from now so you can leave now Faith and don't come back." I said
20 minutes after Faith left Tyler returned.
"What is the deal with you and Faith?" I asked
"Nothing but friends." Tyler said
"Are you sure?" I asked
"I promise you Bella." Tyler said
"Well she stopped by your hotel room while you were out to tell you there is a team meeting at 7." I said
We ate dinner then Tyler and I talked to his parents before he had to get ready for the meeting.
"Will you be here when I get back?" Tyler asked
"Yes since I'm not going back to NYC until tomorrow." I said
The next morning Tyler and I said our goodbye's. I wasn't planing on flying out to Florida again while Tyler is here but he still has almost a month left of spring training so if I have a free weekend then I likely would want to spend all the time I can with him.
*Back in Rosewood*
It's been a few weeks since I last saw Tyler. He will be back in NYC in a few days but I will be coming home for a day and then leaving for my parents wedding in London. Deylia and I are on our way to have dinner with her parents plus my aunt and uncle.
"Are you sure you don't want me to plan your wedding?" Hanna asked
"To be honest I would be fine with you planning the wedding but Tyler isn't and I don't want our wedding to be something we have to fight about." I said
"Deylia are you going to help with planning your brother and best friends wedding?" Caleb asked
"Yes plus I will likely be in the wedding right Bella?" Deylia asked
"Thats the plan and actually I would like you to be my maid of honor." I said
"Thank you Bella and Yes I would love to be your maid of honor." Deylia said
"Do you know when and where the wedding is going to be?" Spencer asked
"Tyler and I think it's best if we get married during MLB off season because neither of us think an NYC wedding is the best idea." I said
"If the weddings in Rosewood then we can help you find a place." Toby said
"It's likely going to be in Rosewood but I think my parents might try and talk me into having the wedding in London." I said
"My sister just thinks London is the best place in the world, I mean it may be better then Rosewood by far but Rosewood will always feel like home to me." Spencer said
"London is great but if I hadn't moved to Rosewood then I wouldn't be best friends with Deylia and I wouldn't be marrying Tyler." I said
"Have a safe trip back to NYC tomorrow." Hanna said
"We will." Deylia said
Once back in NYC I had less then 2 days to spend with Tyler before flying to London for my parents wedding.
"I wish that you didn't have to go to London." Tyler said
"I know but my parents really want me to be there plus I'm in the wedding so it looks bad if I don't go." I said
"You know I would go with you if I could." Tyler said
"Don't worry about it Tyler." I said
"I love you." Tyler said
"I love you too." I replied back
We had a long kiss before I left for the airport.
*In London*
My parents were getting remarried on the anniversary of their original wedding. It's crazy to think that 25 years ago today they were getting married for the first time. It's also crazy to think they got divorced 5 years ago and are now getting remarried.
"You started planning your wedding yet?" Wren asked
"Barley at this rate we won't even be able to get married this year." I said
"I wouldn't rush it and sometimes long engagements are a good thing. Spencer said
"Do you wish that you would of had an engagement more then 3 months." I said
"Yes, your uncle and I had a very stressful marriage the first few years but we somehow always made it work. Your moms original engagement was only a few months longer then I had with Toby." Spencer said
"What if Tyler and I don't work out in the long run?" I asked
"Well you see how your mom just got married to the same man she divorced 5 years ago." Spencer said
"My dad is my dad but I don't see how my mom could still love him after everything that has happened." I said
"Well that's because I was able to see through things and I realized that I had it in my heart to forgive your dad for everything just like you have." Melissa said
"Was it really that easy or did you just do it for me?" I asked
"I think your dad and I are meant to be in more ways then just being your parents." Melissa said
"Just to be clear this wasn't just my dads idea to get remarried?" I asked
"Your dad didn't talk me into anything Bella." Melissa said
"It wasn't easy for me to forgive him and I don't want you to think that you had to remarry my dad." I said
"No Bella I remarried your father because I love him and he loves you to." Melissa said
*Back in New York City*
"I can't believe your parents are re married." Tyler said
"I know crazy right but it does go to show if 2 people are meant to be then they will end up back together." I said
"Do you think they will stay together this time?" Tyler asked
"I hope so." I said
*A few months later*
Both Tyler and JT got selected to play in the all start game. Tyler still didn't have friends on his team but he has been playing great this season so he has fans. Her and Tyler hadn't talked much since they often missed each others phone calls. In the middle of the game Bella saw what she was worried about. Tyler was kissing faith after he scored a home run and he wasn't being secretive about it because plenty of people including Delia and Bella saw them kissing in the national team dugout.
"You've got to be kidding me." I said
"I'm really sorry I didn't tell you and you had to find out like this." Deylia said
"You knew?" I asked
"I only find out yesterday because Tyler accidentally sent me a text message that was meant for her. I was planning on telling you tomorrow." Deylia said
"What did the text say not that it matters anyway?" I asked
"The text said "We have to stop this before Bella finds out" meaning Tyler isn't all bad in this." Deylia said
"You may be able to say that because's he's your brother but if I found out JT was cheating on you I would have told you the very second I found out." I said
"This text means Tyler loves you Bella if he's ending his relationship with her to be with you." Deylia said
"Tell him that if he wants to fix this he owes me the complete truth." I said
I left the ballpark and went to the closet airport which happened to be Philadelphia with nothing but the one suitcase that was in my car.I bought a plane ticket for the next flight out and didn't bother to tell anyone where I was going. Hours later I showed up at my parents doorstep who also had no idea I was flying to London.
"Why are you here?" My mom asked
"I just need a break from life right now and London was the first place I thought of." I said
"Well come in and make yourself at home." My mom said
"Is dad home?" I asked
"He's at work but he will be back first thing in the morning." My mom said
"I'm tired so I think I'm just want to go to bed now." I said
"Can you at least give me a hug first?" My mom asked
"Yes mom." I said
I was glad that my mom didn't ask me any questions because I didn't want to talk to anyway about today's events.
*A few weeks later*
I have been rejecting calls from both Deylia and Tyler. Honestly I don't know if my friendship with Deylia can be the same again or if I ever want to hear Tyler's voice again. I am volunteering at the hospital my dad works at.
"Do you want to tell me what's going on or is that a conversation that you only wanted your mom to be apart of?" My dad asked
"I haven't told you because I don't want you to side with Tyler." I said
"Why do you think I would side with Tyler?" My dad asked
"Because you cheated on my mom before and I thought because of that you would take his side." I said
"That was years ago Bella and your mom knows I won't ever make that mistake again." My dad said
"Well a cheater is a cheater." I said
"You must not be completely done with Tyler since you are still wearing the engagement rind he gave you." My dad said
"I just don't have the heart to take it off." I said
"You still love Tyler and I know you hope things will be back to normal with him soon." My dad said
"He doesn't even know i'm here." I said
"I'm sure Tyler is worried about you so why don't you call him back already?" My dad asked
"Tyler can't just be forgiven so soon." I said
I was upset so I did something stupid when my dad walked away from his office. I noticed he left his id badge on his desk so I borrowed it and used it to get into the room where extra medicine is stored. I was in and out in a minute so no one else saw me. I texted my mom to pick me up from my volunteer shift early because I wasn't feeling good.
I didn't take any pills but I realized I made a mistake when my dad came home that night and said that he was fired for taking pills for personal use. I heard my mom and dad fighting and I know that I needed to tell the truth.
"Dad, can I talk to you?" I said
"Not now but in the morning." My dad said
"No dad this can't wait." I said
"Fine tell me now." My dad said
"I borrowed your badge and took the pills earlier today." I said
"Thanks for being honest but you can't fix this." My dad said
"Why not?" I asked
"You are an adult now Bella and I can only protect your from staying out of trouble if I take the blame." My dad said
"I can't let you do that." I said
"All you can do is promise me you didn't take any pills." My dad said
"I thought about it but I stopped myself from taking any." I said
"Bella, If I let you tell the hospital the truth then this will ruin your future and I can't let you do that." My dad said
"Isn't it better to be honest then lie?" I asked
"In most cases yes but I'm willing to keep this a secret." My dad said
