A crash
A boom
A whizzing bang

Music to my ears
Yet none to my eyes

I'm too late
I missed it

No fireworks for me.

But the day was ruined
Long before now

And now I sit under the light of the stars

Wondering
Waiting
Trying not the feel the ache inside

But reality returns soon

I rise
And go inside.
