Nikki heard her parents yelling in the kitchen and she covered her ear with her pillow. Silent tears rushed down her face. To quote Bhad Bhabie, "Oh, here come the waterworks." She didn't know how to tell anyone. Her phone was blowing up with texts worried about her. From David, from Neil, from Max. Her unfortunate situation was killing her cool skater girl aesthetic. Ya know, the girl who doesn't give a shit about anything. But this flipped it upside down. Her dad came from California because of this. Her dad, who she only sees once a year, ditched work, ditched his new family, and came out just to yell and argue and fight with her mom. She picked up her phone and started writing a text- to Max.

Nikki stares at her phone for a minute thinking of something else to say, but eventually-
