I made my way into the front entrance of the Avengers building when I was stopped by two security guards. I struggled to get past them but they wouldn't let me through, "Come on guys, Mr. Stark asked me to come over."
I once again tried to push past them but they put out their hands and stopped me. The taller guard spoke into a little microphone on his suit while the other restrained me from getting in.
"You're just a kid," the shorter guard laughed.
"Stark doesn't associate with kids," he said.
"Well he associates with me, and I'm not just a kid," I stopped trying to get through and I looked at both of them, "I'm Gemini,"
They looked at me in disbelief and then laughed again. I was starting to get annoyed. I guess I didn't really look tough. A small teenage girl walking into the Avengers building claiming she's the superhero Gemini doesn't seem that believable.
The two idiot guards continued to laugh in my face. I finally was at the end of my rope when I stepped back and held out two fingers motion at the shorter guard. I used my telekinesis to lift up his hand and I made him hit the taller guard in the arm.
"What the hell, man." The taller guard exclaimed.
I laughed as I watched the shorter one stare at his hand in shock, "It wasn't me,"
"It was me," I spoke up.
They both watched as I held out my hand and moved my fingers slightly using my pyrokinesis to bring a small flame to the taller guard's tie.
He immediately began hitting at the tie jumping around like a little kid on a pogo stick. I began to burst out laughing at how ridiculous he looked.
"Ah, you're here." I turn to see Happy Hogan walking towards me with an iPad in his hand. Both guards moved in front of me as they watched Happy come closer.
The two guards moved a little so Happy could see me, "Tony and the kid are upstairs," Happy says. He then looks to the two guards, "She's with me,"
I smirk as Happy begins to walk away. I lift both my hands in the air and used my telekinesis to shove each security guard out of my way, "See you guys,"
I turned around at them, "This was fun we should do it again sometime," they both stared at me as I turned around again and went into the elevator with Happy.
Happy clicked the close button on the elevator and then clicked the button leading us a floor up from where we were.
I watched as the elevator doors closed showing me a blurry reflection of myself and Happy, "Why did Mr. Stark call me?"
"The kid showed up about two hours ago, he went to Tony and started talking to him about you, he seemed pretty sad too. Then he kept asking Tony for advice. We tried to get him to leave but he wouldn't go," Happy explains.
I stare down at my feet and wait for the elevator to ding. Once it does, the doors open and I look in the room to see Mr. Stark standing by a little bar area getting a drink. I look around the room and see Peter laying on the couch. He looks completely depressed.
"Miss Gemini, you're here!" Mr. Stark announces. I look over to Peter who immediately popped up off the couch and he's now staring at me.
I walk inside the room a little more, "My name is Y/N,"
He walks over to me and places an arm around my shoulder, "I'm gonna stick with Gemini," we begin to walk over to the couches where Peter is sitting. I take a long look at him.
His eyes were red, which I'm guessing is from crying. His curly brown hair that is usually neatly parted to the side, was hanging all around his face. His clothes were all wrinkly and his face has no light in it. No happiness, no nothing.
"I believe you and Mr. Parker have some talking to do," Mr. Starks pats my shoulder as we reach the couch where Peter is sitting.
Happy and Mr. Stark both exit the room leaving me alone with Peter. I sit down slowly on a chair near the couch. I stare down at my lap, and I feel Peter's eyes on me.
"Y/N," he begins, "Please just let me explain."
I look down at my watch on my wrist, "You have two minutes,"
He gets down and sits close to me, "It's not what you thought. After your family dinner, Liz called me and said she needed help studying for a decathlon meet we have coming up. So I went over to help her."
I glanced at my watch to let him know that his time was ticking. He clearly understood because he started to talk faster, "When I was over there she got out beer, and I wasn't thinking so I drank some. Then we got off track and we started to talk more. And then she leaned over and kissed me. I was tired and semi-drunk so I didn't push her off."
"This isn't looking good for you, Parker." I snap.
"But once we stopped kissing I knew what I did. I told her that I couldn't do that to you. She tried to get me to stay but I left anyways." He looked at me in the eyes, "I felt so guilty. But the kiss didn't mean anything so I didn't tell you."
I looked at my watch again, but this time I looked at it because some tears were forming in my eyes and I didn't want him to see.
"I didn't want to worry you, but it meant nothing. I haven't talked to her since. I love you Y/N,"
I looked up at him, noticing he had tears in his eyes also, "If I find out that you're lying about this, and that it meant something to you or that you guys kissed or did something more..." I began.
He cut me off, "You won't I swear. I love you,"
I looked down again. I know he was waiting for me to respond back to him. I know he was hoping I would tell him I love him too. But I couldn't. I love him so much, but I just couldn't tell him.
"Peter," I said, "I believe you, and I forgive you."
I looked up and saw some hope in his teary eyes, "But I need a little more time to think. I'm sorry," My voice cracked from trying to hold back from crying.
And with that, I got up from the chair and walked to the elevator. I stepped inside and turned to face Peter. He sat there still looking where I was sitting. He looked how I felt, lost.
I let out a big sob as I clicked the bottom floor button. I know he heard it but I don't care.
I walked out of the building not even messing with the two guards again. I quietly sobbed as I walked down the street.
I didn't want to go home, and I needed a friend to be with me right now. Plus I told MJ I was coming back.
I thought about Peter, and how sad he looked. My heart broke in two thinking about it. I tried to push him out of my mind but it didn't work. Tears rolled down my face with every thought of him.
I then, began down the long path back to MJ's house, with tears in my eyes and my head down.
