I take these pretty coloured pills
and they make me feel funny

but when that stops working
I try drowning in music, try focusing on the lyrics
Sure, they it makes me sad
But I wanted to hear something else besides your voice
but in the end
not enough pretty pills
or straight lines
no dancing flames
or loud music
can hide the emptiness in my eyes
because eventually, the feeling fades
And I'm back at square one
searching for something to take my mind off you."
