The Monsters Under My Bed

(1) The Monsters Under My Bed:

We've all heard stories of monsters under our beds
But what if this monster was all in our heads?
This monsters not sudden, it's something you seek
When you look under the bed and wish you hadn't peeked
A monster is scary, with teeth and big feet
And as you grow up, it's people you meet
Yes people are monsters hiding under your bed
And these are the people that you had been said:
These people are monsters, hidden in disguise
They don't want to play, only hurt you inside
They want you to squirm, and cower, and hide
These monsters are people who want you to die
I've had some friends who are monsters  inside
Who broke me down, but opened my eyes
The hurt and pain and worry they caused
For every wound was covered in gauze
They beat and tortured me beyond end
To a place where only demons were sent
A place of fire and screams below
A place these monsters truly know
These monsters had won, or so they thought
When one day I decided that I think not
I realized these monsters were not my friends
And decided one day that this shall end
This pain and hurt shall see the light
For these monsters only come during the night
For I will wait until it's dark
With stars making their every mark
I look under the bed and see a sight
These monsters are ready to pick a fight
The pain I let develop through the years
Was released and made these monsters fear
No longer a little girl who feared these beasts
These monsters under my bed were now my feast
