- jimin's pov -
we were all in tears as jungkook fell asleep.
but that's the thing...
he was just asleep.
there was no long beep like in the movies that tells you the person was dead. jungkook was alive and he was just sleeping.
i quickly ran out of the room and looked for a doctor.
maybe they could save him.
maybe they could do one last surgery or something.
i can't let him go like this.
"ma'am do you know where jeon jungkook's doctor is?" i asked a lady that was sitting at a desk.
"i can give him a call if you'd like?" she asked and i nodded quickly. "yes please, i need to speak with him." i said and she nodded, picking up the phone.
i waited impatiently as she spoke with the doctor on the line and then she put the phone down.
"he'll be right here to talk with you." she said and i thanked her before sitting in one of the chairs near by.
as soon as the doctor showed up i stood up and walked over to him.
"sir jungkook is sleeping right now and we already said our goodbyes but i-i was wondering if there's anything else you could do? like maybe one last surgery or something, i don't know doc... it just doesn't feel right, there has to be something."
"jungkook said he wanted to pass away in his sleep... im afraid he doesn't want us to perform anymore surgeries." the doctor said and i raised an eyebrow.
"what? if there's something you can do to save him why the fuck aren't you doing it?" i asked, anger building up inside of me.
jungkook is so young and he still has so much to live for so if there's any chance that he could live then he—
"sir we'll get right on it." the doctor said and i nodded. "good." i said and started running back to jungkook's room.
everyone was staring at me with confused looks and i gave them the best smile i could.
"there's a chance my baby will live and im taking it." i said and pressed a kiss to jungkook's forehead.
"w-what?" hoseok asked and i bit my lip. "i talked to the doctor and he said that they'll do one last surgery. im just not ready to say goodbye to him yet, we all aren't. and i don't think he's ready to leave us either."
i looked down at jungkook's sleeping face and ran my hand through his hair soothingly.
then there was a knock on the door and taehyung yelled a weak come in.
the doctors came in and we all moved out of the way so they could do what they had to do.
they rolled him out of the room, only one doctor staying behind to talk to us.
"his surgery can take hours so please be patient. we will try our best but we cannot guarantee that this will save his life. it'll just extend his time." the doctor explained and we all nodded, trying to take in what was happening.
"thank you so much, can we wait in here?" i asked and the doctor nodded. "of course. i'll be going now."
"okay thanks again." i said and then he left.
i turned towards the guys and they all suddenly hugged me.
even yoongi.
"thank you jimin, i never would've thought to say anything." taehyung said and i nodded. "we shouldn't get our hopes up though..." i said and yoongi snorted.
"too late." yoongi said and i smiled.
we all sat down and waited for jungkook's surgery to be over. seokjin was constantly asking nurses and doctors when the surgery would be done but all of them said the same thing.
its hard to say.
"jimin you wanna read jungkook's diary? its pretty cute." namjoon said and i shook my head. "not yet... he wants me to read it when he's gone but he's not gone yet." i said and taehyung placed his hand on my shoulder.
"jungkook really couldn't have a better boyfriend. thank you for being so good to him." taehyung said and i smiled softly.
"he deserves it." i said and taehyung nodded.
and then we all waited some more.
it was two in the morning when the door finally opened and the doctors pushed jungkook into the room, placing the bed back where it was before.
hoseok and i both stood up, we were the only two still awake at this point.
"is he okay?" hoseok asked and the doctor we spoke to before nodded. "he's going to be hospitalized but when he wakes up he should feel better. we just want him here so we can do daily check ups."
we both nodded and hummed.
"thank you so much." i said before going over to jungkook and sitting beside his bed.
"sleep well baby, i'll be here when you wake up." i whispered and pecked his forehead.
hoseok and i woke up the other guys and told them that jungkook was okay and we could come see him tomorrow when he wakes up.
seokjin was hesitant to leave but namjoon eventually convinced him it was okay.
i waited till everyone was gone and pressed a chaste kiss on his lips before leaving with his diary in hand.

the next morning all the guys got to the hospital before me due to me accidentally sleeping in and to my relief jungkook was wide awake.
"jimin!" jungkook sat up and i ran over to him, pulling him into a huge hug as my eyes filled with tears of joy.
"i love you so much jungkook." i said, pulling away slightly to look at his beautiful face.
"i love you more. did you read my diary?" jungkook asked and i shook my head. "oh thank god, where is it?" he asked and i quickly handed it to him with a pen.
"you're so sweet jimin, this is exactly why i love your face." jungkook pecked my lips and i smiled.
jungkook opened the book and flipped to a blank page.
- jungkook's pov -
you saved my life jimin.
thank you.
this'll probably happen again but next time i'll be prepared.
im not ready to say goodbye to you or any of the guys.
you should've seen jinnie hyung when i woke up hehe, he was a mess.
anyway im very excited that i didn't die and we didn't share our last kiss or say our last i love you's.
i mean i might get to graduate and that's pretty exciting.
and go to prom with you ( pls ask me to prom bby it'd be very much appreciated ).
and i can experience so many things now that i didn't think id be able to before. ( like for example i can do the do ;) when i get out of the hospital of course ).
but anyway you guys are all in here right now so i'll write more tomorrow.
i think i should start doing more things so i get to experience them before i die.
like get married hehe.
okay i'll go now.

"jimin let's get married." i said and your eyes widened slightly before a smile replaced your shocked expression.
"yeah let's get married." you said and i smiled, turning to look at the rest of the guys.
