Well I love you
Some say that those words mean so much
But its true that they mean just nothing
And sure they meant just oh so much once
Like an echo, the resonance fades out
Words don't mean what they say
Just the emotion behind them
So, "I love you"
Lets speak in the real terms of how it is
The words are spoken as a reminder of a time
A time when there was love experienced
When there wasn't a hollow reminder of what was
Because isn't that really what this is
Is that possibly all we are now
I loved you
Well you heard the words as well as I did
Forever we will be, forever this will be
Forever ended and now we speak of it like it's now
Speak to remember the best thing thats ever been
One day those words will fade away
Just like all other fleeting memories
But do I love you
I sure said I did, did I say what I didn't mean
Would I lie with the most powerful words
Maybe they're just more worthless words
What do the words mean without loving intentions
How many times did my mouth spill the nonsense
Perhaps all those words are just behind me
But I do love you
So those words mean just as much as I do
