"Honestly Mick I'm fine. I got a job at a tattoo shop, I'm going to a bar tonight with some of the people I work with. I'm fitting in like a normal girl, I'm fine" I say into a burner phone
"You're sure? Your dad would kill me if I didn't make sure you're safe. Anything happens I want you to tell me. I can't risk coming to see you yet in case they find me but I have a man I trust to send if you need it" Mick says, his voice full of concern, I turn and see Bones standing at the front door
"I have to go, my friends here to pick me up, but I'm fine, we'll talk soon" I end the call, turn the phone off and put it in a drawer before opening the door to Bones. He's wearing dark jeans a black t-shirt and his leather cut, his black hair slicked back
"Almost ready" I say as he walks in, I run upstairs and grab my bag, check my make up in the mirror. I bought some make up after work and after watching like a million youtube videos I figured out how to put it on right and I actually think I look good, you can't see my busted lip and I like the way the eyeliner makes my blue eyes look. I run back downstairs and Bones is stood by the kitchen table
"I'm ready" I smile as we head out, I set the alarm and lock up. I look at Bones motorcycle, it's a beautiful black and chrome fat boy, I climb on behind him and he hands me a helmet, I fasten it on and wrap my arms around his waist
"You ready?" He asks turning back to look at me, I nod and he heads off. I forgot how much fun it is to ride, my dad taught me in case I needed to get away fast. Hell, my dad taught me everything he thought I would need, to shoot, fight, kill, drive at high speed and to ride a motorcycle like my life depended on it.
All too soon we pull up outside the bar, I climb off and give Bones his helmet back, he takes my hand and we walk inside, it surprised me at first but I like him holding my hand.
"You must be Violet" a petite blond woman walks up to me and pulls me into a hug
"I'm Erica, Bears old lady and this is my bar, come and meet the girls we're doing tequila shots" she takes my hand and pulls me towards the bar, I smile back at Bones and watch as he walks over and sits with a group of men
"Violet, this is Cherry, Sheila and Crystal." I say hi the the women and Erica hands me a shot of tequila.
After several shots and agreeing to go shopping with Erica and Cherry on my day off I'm pretty buzzed and I'm dancing with the girls, they're so nice. I know I keep saying it but when you think of a motorcycle club you think of bad guys, but they're not. They've welcomed me and made me feel like I've always known them. When I lived in Virginia with my dad I didn't have friends, I had training, we spent all our time drilling codes into my head, learning moves over and over until it was perfect. Yes I did work at a tattoo shop but not regularly, only once or twice a month.
"Babe, we gotta head home, the sitter finishes in twenty minutes" Bear says wrapping his arm around Erica
"Ok, Violet I'll see you for shopping" she says pulling me into a hug, she says goodnight to the others and her and Bear head out. I feel Bones walk up behind me and wrap his arm around my waist
"You want a ride home Vi?" He asks, his lips dangerously close to my ear, I nod and turn to face him, our bodies almost pressed together. I step back and he smirks, he moves his arm from my waist, takes my hand and guides me out of the bar. I wave to Cherry, Sheila and Crystal as we leave.
We climb on the bike and head off, I wrap my arms around Bones waist and rest my head on his back. We pull up in front of my house and I hand him his helmet. He walks me to the front door and I unlock it
"Thanks for the ride Bones, I had fun tonight" I smile and go to walk inside but he grabs my arm and turns me to face him, his lips crash into mine. One arm wraps around my waist my pulls my body against his while his other hand runs through my hair, I wrap my arms around his neck, he bites my bottom lip and I gasp. His tongue slides into my mouth as he tastes me.
Our lips part and he rests his forehead against mine. Wow, that was my first kiss and damn, I want more. Yes at 21 I'm old to never have been kissed but my dad would never have allowed boys, they interrupted training, I mean 23, damnit, you're Violet and you're 23 now.
"Goodnight Violet" Bones says as he steps away. I watch him get on his motorcycle and ride off. I can't help but touch my lips with my fingers as they still tingle from that amazing kiss.
Bones POV
I had to kiss her, hell watching her dance with the girls and the way her body moved I wanted to take her right there in the bar, fuck her and make her mine. Now I've tasted those lips I want her more than ever, problem is I think Bear is right, she's hiding something. She has an iPhone, it's what she was using at the bar to swap numbers with the girls, but when I went to pick her up she was talking on a different phone. While she was upstairs getting her bag I took it, it's a burner. I'm not going to tell Bear yet, I don't want her hurt but I need to find out what she's into before it gets her hurt or killed.
"Morning Bones, Circuit has something on Violet, come to my office" Bear says walking through the garage. We walk into Bears office and Circuit comes in
"What did Erica think of her?" I ask Bear
"She likes her, doesn't think she's trouble but definitely agrees she's hiding something. Said she noticed she didn't like being asked questions" Bear says sitting down
"Well, I did some research. I got some information but something is definitely up. Ivy Wilkins has owned that house for 9 years, but I can't find a birth or death certificate for her. No record of any marriages either. When I tried to search for Violet there is a birth certificate and passport, but when I tried to look for her school and police records I kept getting blocked. Her information is classified by the CIA. It's only a guess but I think she might be in witness protection. I don't think she's here for us but I'd put money that there are people looking for her. She could bring trouble here if they find her" Circuit says showing us the deed for the house and her birth certificate.
"Ok, well if she isn't here for us I'm happy, but I don't want trouble on our doorstep. Everyone I've spoken to about her loves her so I say we bring the rest of the club in, tell them all this and see if they agree to help her stay hidden. What do you think Bones? I know you're already getting close to her" Bear says
"Yeah. I agree, we'll put it to vote, but I don't want her to know we're looking into her, she might run and then she will be in danger." I reply.
"Ok call church and hope the rest of the club agrees." Bear says standing up. I'm not going to tell them about the burner phone, she could have been trying to speak to some one she left behind.
I spent the rest of the morning working in the garage before heading into the clubhouse for church. The whole club is here, we head into the meeting room, a dark room with a long solid wood table and leather chairs. Bear sits at the head of the table and I sit to his right
"You're probably wondering why I've called church, well I'm sure most of you have met Violet, Needles new tattoo artist, I know she met most of you at the bar the past few nights. Well something about her didn't sit right with me so I had Circuit look into her." He states opening the floor to Circuit
"I looked into Ivy Wilkins who has been the owner of the house for 9 years, there's no birth or death certificate for her, I don't believe she is real. Now Violet, when I tried to find out about her most of her information has been classified by the CIA, its my guess that she's in witness protection, for what, I don't know." Circuits spreads some papers out on the table to show the guys, her birth certificate, her passport and her drivers licence.
"Violet is a nice girl, I know we haven't known her long but I think she'll be good for the club. She's an amazing artist and she's been nothing but nice to the guys and the old ladies." Needles says
"I've not called you here to get rid of her, I want to put to vote how the club feels about her being under our wing. If she is in witness protection, the people she's hiding from could bring danger to our door, I want to know if she is worth that risk to the club." Bear says
"My old lady Cherry hasn't shut up about her since last night, so I'm good with her" Dragon says
"She's feisty, I like her" Knuckles says winking at me
"Ok then, so I put it to vote, all those in favour of keeping Violet under our wing" Bear asks and the club vote unanimously in favour.
"I don't want Violet to know we've looked into her, could make her run." I say and several members nod.
"Ok then, she stays and we keep an eye out for her" Bear says before hammering the table to close church.
