I woke up and headed straight for the shower, I turn the water on and look in the mirror, tying my hair into a messy bun I check the damage to my lip. The swelling isn't too bad but it's nice and purple, perfect for my first day at work, I groan and step into the shower.
I get dressed in denim shorts and a black tank, leaving my hair in the bun I grab my boots and head downstairs. I turn off the alarm then head to the kitchen, I turn on the coffee machine and grab two cups. I don't know why I let Bones stay, my dad would be freaking out but something about him makes me feel safe, like I can trust him.
"Morning Violet" I turn and see a shirtless Bones standing in the doorway, am I drooling? I hope not, god he's sexy.
"Morning Bones, coffee?" I ask turning back to the coffee machine and casually checking for drool. We sat and drank our coffee together before I grabbed my stuff and got ready to head to my new job
"Can I give you a ride?" I ask picking up my car keys
"I left my bike outside the bar last night so I'll just walk up from the tattoo shop and get it" he says following me out to my truck.
I pull up and park outside the tattoo shop, I move in my seat so I'm on my knees and lean forward towards Bones, I kiss his cheek as I grab my bag
"See you around Bones" I say before jumping out of the truck and walking off inside the shop giggling to myself, I watch him get out the truck from the corner of my eye and watch him walk away looking at me the whole time.
Needles helps me set up and shortly after Matt, the prospect from the bar last night, comes in for me to tattoo his stomach, he lays on the table
"Any particular music?" I ask as I turn on my sound system, he shakes his head so I put on The Doors
"Never took you as a hippie chick" he says laughing, I smile and sing along as I get started. After two hours of talking and laughing whilst I'm tattooing him, I've learned a bit more about the club The Reapers Riders, and Matt is a really nice guy, but I can tell he needs a break
"Wanna stop and go for a smoke?" I ask, I see the relief on his face. He stands up and I cover his stomach so he can go outside
"Take 10 minutes and then I'll get that finished" I say as I stretch, Matt nods and head outside. I head to the kitchen and grab a drink
"How you doing?" Marco asks as I take a sip from my water bottle
"Good, it's nice to be back at it, after a month off" I smile sitting down next to him, we sit and talk for a few minutes before a huge guy comes in, he's easily 6ft4 with massive broad shoulders, long blonde hair pulled back into a ponytail, with a blonde beard, I would say he's in his late 30's
"You must be Violet" he says holding out his hand, I nod
"I'm Bear, President of The Reapers Riders, thought I should come and meet the clubs new tattooist" he says with a smile, that takes him down from looking dangerous to approachable
"It's nice to meet you Bear, all of your guys have been so welcoming" I say returning the smile and shaking his hand.
"What happened to your lip?" He asks, I've already had to tell Needles and Matt, I need to buy make up to cover this
"After I left the bar last night some guy hit on me and when I said no he hit me, but Bones was there to see me drop the asshole" I reply
"That explains why he was missing last night. Bones is a good guy" he says with a wink that makes me blush
"He just made sure I got home safe, that was all" I say looking away, trying to get the heat to go from my cheeks. We talk for a few minutes and he tells me to go to Erica's bar tonight to meet some of the old ladies, he says goodbye and heads out.
"Ready to carry on Matt?" I ask as he walks back in, he nods and we start back up
"Ok, I'll give you a choice this time Iron Maiden or Metallica?" I ask walking to the sound system
"Now that's my kinda girl, Metallica" he says smiling. I turn on the music and carry on with his tattoo.
Bones POV
Violet is really throwing me off my game, normally I'd have been in her bed last night and when she kissed my cheek this morning I would've grabbed her and kissed her, but I don't know what she's doing to me. She's clearly tough and knows how to handle herself, but she seems so innocent at the same time and she's beautiful. I just want to run my fingers through her long black hair while I taste those soft pink lips of hers.
"Bones, got a minute?" Bear asks walking into the garage and shaking me from my thoughts. I wipe my hands and follow him inside the clubhouse
"What's up Bear?" I ask as he sits at the bar
"I went to meet Violet this morning seems like a cute girl, but something doesn't add up" he says as he takes a sip from his beer.
"You wanted me boss?" Circuit asks walking up, he's our tech guy, gets all the gadgets and he's a great hacker.
"Yeah, I want you to look into Violet Wilkins, the new girl at the tattoo shop. Bones, she seems to like you so I want you to keep an eye on her. It just doesn't sit right with me she's come from nowhere, moved into the house at the back and working at our clubs tattoo shop."
"What are you thinking prez?" Circuit asks
"I just want to make sure she hasn't been sent by The Diablos. Just look into her background to settle my gut feeling, if we don't find anything I'll let it go. I told her to go to Erica's tonight to meet the old ladies, you know what Erica is like, she'll know straight away if something is up." Bear says finishing his beer and standing up
"I'll keep an eye on her boss, but I don't think anything is up" I say patting his shoulder. He nods and heads to his office. Well I guess I got an excuse to take her to lunch, I head out to my motorcycle and ride off towards the town.
I pull up to the tattoo shop and head inside
"Afternoon Bones, how's the chest piece healing?" Needles asks
"It's all good, Violet around?" I ask looking to the back of the shop
"Can't you hear her? All she's done is sing all morning. Good job we like her voice" he says laughing. I listen and I can hear her singing Nothing Else Matters by Metallica, she does have a good voice
"It was The Doors earlier, maybe I can make a few bucks charging people for listening" he laughs and pats my shoulder as I walk passed him towards her voice
"Sounding good Vi" I say walking into the small room to see Violet tattooing Matt, one of our prospects. She looks up at me and blushes
"Have I been singing this whole time?" She asks looking to Matt, he laughs and she hits his chest
"Tell me to shut up next time" she says looking down, her cheeks bright red
"What can I do for you Bones?" She asks cleaning off Matts stomach
"I came to see if a pretty lady wanted to come to lunch with me?" I ask
"Well if I find one I'll ask her" she says with a wink
"Ok Matt you're all done" she says as she finishes wrapping his stomach
"Thanks Violet, I had fun" he winks at her and walks out. She starts cleaning up as I lean against the wall
"Just let me finish cleaning up and I'll come with you to lunch, but I need to be back at 1 for my next appointment." She says with her back to me. I watch her clean up and maybe check out her body a few times, she is hot, before she finishes and we head out
"I'll be back by 1pm Needles I promise" she says as she follows me out the door. We walk down the street to the diner and sit opposite each other at a booth
"So, how is your first day going?" I ask, she looks up from her menu and smiles
"Everyone is so nice, Matt is so funny and I met Bear earlier, he looks scary as hell but he was nice too, wants me to go meet some of the ladies tonight, I've only been here a day but I feel like I have friends already, it's nice" the waitress comes over and takes our order and heads back off
"So where are you from Violet?"
"Virginia, you always lived here?" she says looking down at the table
"Yup, never knew my dad but my Mom raised me here and worked for the club, what about your family? Anyone coming to see your new place?" She looks up for a minute then looks back down
"No, just me. My Mom died when I was twelve and my Dad died not long ago. I didn't even know I had an Aunt Ivy until her lawyer got in touch with me" I reach out and touch her hand, stroking my finger over her knuckles
"I'm sorry you don't have anyone, but hey you have the club now, we're a big family and you're slowly becoming part of it" she looks up and smiles at me, then takes my hand in hers
"Thanks" she says before letting my hand go and putting hers under the table.
"How about I pick you up tonight to go to Erica's? Keep you safe from all the assholes" I smile at her
"Ok, I haven't been on a motorcycle for a while, it would be fun" she says smiling back at me. The waitress brings our food and we carry on talking and eating. I walk her back to the tattoo shop before getting on my bike and heading back to the garage.
