The Letter and Her Mate
Chapter 6
Rosie Jay
"Let's see what Daniel put." I said.
"Who's Daniel and where did that letter come from?" Cynthia asked.
"Just a second Cyn, I'll explain everything once I am done." I said to her and she nodded.
I then opened the envelope to have three envelopes pop up. Really Daniel, did you really have to do that? I shake my head and grab one of the envelopes and hand it to Alika. Then I look at the next one and it goes to Cynthia. I look at the last envelope and it goes to Ricky. I gave it to him to only have one more pop up. This one was actually for me. I grabbed it and put the, finally empty, envelope down.
"I can't seem to open my envelope." Alika said. "Every time I try to open it a new seal pops up."
"Let me see if I am to open this one first." I said and he nods.
I open it and read aloud its contents.
'To: Rosie Jadelynn May Leilani Martin'
"'To: Rosie Jadelynn Martin'" I didn't want to say my full name, but let me continue on with the letter.
'Daniel and I told you to stay safe not become a part of a fight. Although you didn't listen I am glad you aren't severely hurt. You might want to heal that gash on your shoulder though. I need you to be responsible for yourself and not get into anymore battles. I know you grew up with people trying to get you or protecting yourself since the incident.'
As soon as I read the first line I feel like they both would be glaring at me if they could. Although, after I stopped reading it and looked at it. How could they know me and I not know them? Who the heck is this person? Also what gash? I looked on my shoulder and there surely is a gash. I didn't even notice it. Oh wait! This is where the dagger hit me. Dang, I didn't think that the injury looked that bad until now.
"Oh my gosh Rose! I didn't even notice that gash until now! We've got to get the pack doctor!" Sydney said concerned.
"No we don't." I said nonchalantly. "Trust me when I say that this injury, compared to the other injuries inflicted on me, is one of the smallest ones I've ever gotten. I've had a broken rib, broken arm, broken leg, and other things."
"Are you serious?" Talon asked me.
"It would be a lie if I told you I wasn't." I said.
"Yeah, she's telling the truth, I was there when she had a broken rib and a broken arm. Wait, no it was a bruised rib dorkwad." Cynthia said.
"She was. Also soooorrry, I was thinking of broken legs and arms."
"Also Jay, back to the letter. What are they talking about? What incident?" Cynthia said.
"It's nothing. Just something from before I lived here, I mean there." I said as I slowly sat down on a chair. Before she started to talk again I started to read the letter again.
'"I know it is hard for you to open up, but you must in order to gain trust. Tell them everything about you.'" It said making me confused, 'why would I do that?' "'If you do that then you can make better memories to cover that day. It will be a thing of the past.'" It is a thing in the past! Don't comment on my past when you don't know me! These people are frustrating me. "'You need to see a difference in people because right now all you can see is nothing.'" Am I blind? Do they think I am blind? "'You are blind when it comes to having people by your side. Talon, Alika, Sydney, Ricky, Cynthia, Brianna, Bryan, Mason, Jake, and many other people want to stay by you in the future and help you rise from what happen from when you were younger. You can't always want to seek revenge now that the people that did that nightmare in your past are gone.'"
"That's not true. There are still some people." I commented before I went on.
"'Now, you are in danger from a lot of people not just from that nightmare that happened years ago, but you already know that you are in danger although you don't know by who and why. Some of them are truly very dangerous.'" Don't they think I know this? I'm not stupid. "'Like the Hunters, Hunters are after you to gain the ransom that the vampire killer himself, made. Protectors are after you as they think you are in danger and want to take you to your 'true home' with your 'true family'. The Supernatural Police Force wants you because your biological uncle wants to see his sister's daughter. The Supernatural Order wants you because of your biological grandparents are a part of the Order and they believe having you with them will help chaos be no more. The werewolf kingdom wants you as they had thought you were a servant to only find out you were part royal as your mother was once a part of that life.
We can protect you from this chaos. The family you live with will also be protected here, but we need them to cut any contacts with that business you were once a part of. I hope that you stay safe. Do not stay in one location longer than a week at most. It will only make it easier on the many people that is after you to find you.
If you may also say hello to your mate and tell Wendy that she is enrolled to our college. She and Nick are enrolled and tell them to stay together as they are mates as well. Congrats to them and you. Also Cynthia, she is well known here because of her brother, he told us all about her when he missed her and couldn't contact her. Also tell her we are regretfully sorry that her envelope did not go to her on time. There was a hold up here as I was busy and still needed to sign it myself. Congratulations to her and Ricky as well. Also Alika will be thrilled to be here once he arrives.
I hope all of you have a great time at the Lake house. It is beautiful there when I saw it in my vision. I also am your Principal. I have a lot of expectations for you and your fellow students when you all arrive as I know you all will excel in many of our programs and your academics.

P.S.: When you arrive Daniel will take you and your fellow students you will arrive with, straight to my office and you will see Vice Principal Perry McGarrett. I think you will love to get to know Mr. McGarrett as you two are from the same family. He doesn't know about you just yet. You will have to tell him your parents' names for it to click with him. We will see you as soon as you arrive, Rosie Jay.'
"What is it with so many people wanting me now? Gosh, this is so stupid. Why can't these people leave me alone? Also what does she mean about 'If you may also say hello to your mate'? I don't have one, I think, but that's not the point. What is it with all these people wanting me?" I said when I finished reading it. "It's a list of many people! Hunters, Protectors, Supernatural Police Force, Supernatural Order, Werewolf Royals, who else wants me dead or alive?!"
"Jay, you aren't even paying attention. You are related to royalty, a Supernatural Police Officer, councilman and councilwoman in the Supernatural Order, and other people that you don't even know about! Also what does she mean that the Werewolf ROYALS thought that you were just a servant?!" Cynthia said.
"That's another talk for another time." I said as I scratched the lobe of my ear.
"No, spill the info right now!" Cynthia demanded.
"Cyn, I can't do that. It's confidential."
"Do you want me to have you hung on a pole by your effin' nose and hand you over myself? Spill now if you do not want that to happen." She says threateningly as she glares at me harshly.
"Okay, okay, calm down Cyn, I'll spill." I said. "Gosh, what did you guys do to her? She's never threatened me like that before."
"Rosie Jadelynn Martin, do not change the subject."
"Okay okay! Look, I was on a mission. I had to get to know the Royals and come back with info. It was for the Supernatural Police Force. They hired me that time. I played as a servant. I had to not only get details of the Royals, but the staff as well. They were doing an investigation that had included one of the servants and how a well loved servant was killed. This servant wasn't just any servant though. It was the well known servant that wanted to become a servant and stayed as a servant. It was Penny Granger."
"The Penny Granger? You were investigating for her death with the Supernatural Police Force?" Cynthia said confused. "I don't believe you. You've never worked for them before."
"But I did. I worked with them for that case. I also found out that the person who killed her was a well known vampire. Although that vampire only kills other vampires of high ranking or of power, so when I tried to compare him to the case it was just that it wasn't his M.O. When I discovered that, I dug into the case a little bit more and found out something else."
"What was it?" Sydney asked.
"I was right to say it wasn't him. It was his sister."
"Wait. He doesn't have a sister though." Cynthia said as she noticed who I was talking about.
"That's what I thought, but it was true. After I stopped surveying the Royals I looked for the vampire killer himself. When I found him one day he was not alone. I heard him formulate a plan with a red head. They kept calling each other brother or sister. They were trying to be careful on not using their names, but I got both of their names. I know who killed all the powerful and high ranking vampires. That's why the vampire killer has a ransom on me, because I know his secret and I know who his sister is. None of you would ever guess who it is and I am not telling you because that would just put ya'll in danger." I said. "I didn't even tell the Supernatural Police Force either. I stayed under wraps, only they somehow found out that I knew."
"You already are in so much danger and you guys didn't know?" Talon said.
"Well with the job my parents and I had it was already dangerous as it was, but we were all the best at what we did." I said. "Also the Supernatural Police Force doesn't really know who they were hiring. They only picked me because I had gotten in trouble that day. They said since I was sneaky that they would make a deal with me and so the deal was that I go free with no charge and only get a verbal warning to not do what I did if I spied for them and that is what I was practically raised for and taught. I'm a natural born spy basically."
"So which job did you have?" Alika asked.
"Let's not get into that right now." Cynthia said.
"That's right you two had the same job." Ricky said.
"Why not talk about it? Why not tell your mates?" Talon said.
"The only problem is I have no idea who that is or what it is still." I groaned as I leaned back in the chair I was in.
"How you are suppose to know who your mate is, is when you feel sparks when you touch the person if you can't seem to see who it is with your eyes." Sydney said. "So we don't need to test Ricky and Cynthia. Since they are mates already, I also doubt that it's me because we are both straight."
"How do you know that? From what I heard from Bryan and Brianna they said there are gay and lesbian mates that didn't even know that they are gay or lesbian until they meet their mate." I said with a shrug and a smug smile to creep her out.
'Cyn, should we?' I linked to her.
She laughed aloud and shook her head no.
"Don't even mess like that; they've taken me seriously with that one time." She said.
"Oh so you have already done that before. It would have been hilarious, I don't mean to make fun of people who are like that, but I like to see my friends' reactions. They are the funniest reactions I have ever seen." I said.
"Let's just see who it is Rosie." Sydney sighed unamused.
I nodded at Sydney. I got up and touched Sydney's arm. Nothing happened so I went to the next person. I stood next to Alika. I touched Alika's arm for nothing to happen. Then I stood in front of Talon. I looked up at him and he nodded. I then poked him on his arm and that's when I felt the sparks. I looked up at him to see that he felt that to. He's my mate.
"Found him." I said.
"You and Talon are mates?" Cynthia said.
"Yup, I felt the sparks." I said to Cynthia.
"Why didn't you say something Talon?" Alika asked.
"I didn't know if I was just starting to like her or if she was actually my mate. I ignored my wolf." He said.
"Wolves can be annoying from what I've heard."
"You can't hear your wolf?" He asked me.
"When I was young I could, but before the incident my wolf said that she can't talk to me for a while," I said as I continued to poke him only on his button up shirt, "and it's been a long time since I've heard her. I'm considered a half breed because I can't hear her, but I am also considered a half breed since I am also part human. I get it from my mom's side. There was only very little human on her side, but I inherited it." I said as I sat back down to only see him clouded with a bit of lust to shake his head.
"Do you mind telling us about the incident?" Cynthia asked rolling her eyes at me. "Also stop that, you are basically teasing the poor lad. Rosie what did Michael, Brody, Nick, and I tell you about unintentionally flirting?"
"Shut-up! That was one time! I didn't even know I was flirting! I was talking naturally! Stop bringing that up." I said as I glared at her with crossed arms. "Also don't worry about it. I'm not going to talk about that anyway, plus that was years ago." I said as I was now in an annoyed mood.
"It may have been years ago, but I care for you and I want to..."
"You want to help me go through it? I've heard it before." I finished, getting more annoyed at her. "I am fine. I haven't thought about what happened for a while now. Please just leave it alone. What's in the past is in the past." I said with a small lie since I had been thinking about it ever since the other night when I finally got my revenge on them for my parents.
"Did you read and not even comprehend what you were reading? Did you zone out as you were reading?" Cynthia asked annoyed at me.
"Actually I did zone out a bit. I do a very good job at zoning out especially at boring missions." I blabbed to try and change the subject. I was going to continue only she didn't let me.
"Shut up Rosie, that was a rhetorical question. Our Principal is the one who said you need to open up more."
"Just because she said that doesn't mean I have to. I don't even know her, SHE doesn't even know me. Also Cyn, I'm not ready to open up yet. Let me open up when I am ready. I promise I will when I am ready. I just don't want to talk about it." I am so close to yelling at her and just leaving. Can't she just drop it?
"Why can't you just tell me what it was mainly about?" Cynthia said.
"Cynthia, stop, let her tell us when she is ready." Talon said.
"Thank you, Talon. At least you understand." I said still very annoyed. "I'm hesitant on telling only because it includes my real parents Cyn. The parents I live with aren't my real parents." I said with a depressed sigh.
Tears started to come to the surface but I hide them and rubbed my eyes. I shook my head. 'No, don't you dare cry.' I wiped my eyes and made sure to regain control of my breathing. I felt a hand on me, but I didn't acknowledge it. I sighed. I really have to stop tapping into the old me. I, all of the sudden, just sat up. I stood up and leaned against the wall. I gave a light smile only it disappeared quickly as I turned a bit serious.
"I'll answer only some questions and that's it."
"What is your name? Well, if Rosie Jay isn't your real name of course." Cynthia said curiously, but it offended me just a bit to hear that from her.
"Cyn, you know all my fake names and cover ups when we were younger. I wouldn't change my real name by a whole lot from the name I use today." I said.
"What is your full name is what she should have asked." Ricky said giving a frown to Cynthia.
"I'm sorry Jay." She said guiltily.
"It's fine. I didn't really know my full name because I forgot it when I had a small case of amnesia when I was ten. My full name is Rosie Jadelynn May Leilani Martin. I remembered it when I was reading the first letter I had received from the University." I said.
"How did you get amnesia?" Sydney asked.
I stayed silent at that question.
"Who helped you when you got the amnesia?" Alika asked when he noticed I wouldn't answer her.
"My parents that I live with." I answered.
"Can you please tell us your old job?!? I am dying to know!" Ricky said.
'You'll die on the inside if I tell you and I don't think you'll be so friendly with Cynthia or my friends.' I thought as I stayed silent.
"I promise I won't judge or anything! None of us will!" Ricky said when I didn't answer him.
"Cynthia, I don't think it would be a good idea." I said when I saw her bite her lip.
"I'll talk to him on the side. I've been hiding it from him for way to long now anyway." She said with a sigh. "We'll talk about it later though."
"Why not right now?" He pouted.
"Because I am not trying to see disgust, disapproving, or any bad reaction from you, I gave that job up before I joined this pack. My parents did as well." Cynthia said.
"Hey if I was Cynthia I just wouldn't have told you, so be glad she is going to tell you. Since I came today I can say I am so not ready to talk about that with complete and utter strangers. I did just meet you guys." Then a sudden realization dawned on me. "Wait, I just met you guys. I don't have to say anything else. I'll see ya'll at the Lake house when ya'll come. If you want to talk, call me." I said as I wrote down my number.
"Rose, don't leave." Talon said.
"I have to; I wasn't supposed to stay here for so long. It's already been a whole hour since I've been here."
"I want to go with you then." He said.
I looked back to him as he grabbed my hand softly. I blinked a couple of times and looked away. I shouldn't do it. I really shouldn't let him come, but he was looking at me in a way that I really wanted him to come with me. I felt something in me. I felt renewed, but I couldn't control my movements. Out of no where I grabbed my phone and dialed a number. He silently waited as he held my hand. When the phone rang the second time I got an answer.
"Hello?" Michael answered.
"Hey Michael, it's me." I said.
"What's up sister from another mister?"
"Don't ever say that again, Michael."
"Okay fine, but what do you need?" He asked.
"I need you to pick me up with Wendy and Talon. I don't know if Wendy would want to come home, but she's at a diner with Nick."
"Nick? Is this the same Nick as Nicky the hicky? You saw my best friend and you didn't tell me! Nick is coming over with Wendy! I don't give a shit if he says no! I'll force him to with blackmail and Cynthia. Hey is Cynthia there? Tell her I said hi! Also who is Talon?"
"Wow, calm down Michael." I said with a light laugh. "Sorry I didn't see you yet plus I am telling you now. Also Talon is on the list and he's my mate."
"He's what now?" He said surprised. "Like what Bryan and Minnie Mouse talks about?"
"Yes, that kind of mate."
"I'm meeting him first for family right?" He asked.
"Yes you are if you don't hurry your butt over here." I said.
"I'm on my way then." He said as he hung up.
After the phone call I put my phone away. Looking at Talon made me feel different, but on the inside, deep within me, I was scared out of my mind as I felt safe. It was weird because now a days I couldn't ever feel safe. What's going on?
