Billions of thoughts race past me as I see the bullet being shot straight at me. Aaron Burr, the man I have always had a thing for, was about to be known as my murderer.
I think of all those times we'd get drunk and do stupid stuff. I remember the time he was there for me when Phillip died. Oh, my son. I'll be with him soon.
Burr and I were always known as friends, but I've always wanted it to be more than that. I have one final thought of how much I love Burr before I hear Burr scream, "Wait!"
I feel an indescribable pain between my ribs. My arm I had raised falls flat. Tears began to overflow my eyes as I fell straight back, hitting my head on the grass.
Burr takes a while before running up to me. People begin to usher him away. I hold my hand over my chest. "L-Let him-m st-tay," I croak. The people let him go and he sprints to my side.
"Alexander," He cries, "I'm sorry! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to shoot you! I'm sorry! Don't die! Stay with me!"
I let out a deep breath. "D-Don't apologize," I smile. I feel the blood dripping down my sides. I huff as I slightly change my position.
More tears flow down his cheeks, but I wipe them away. "I'm so sorry," He softly cries, (lmao pun in 3, 2, 1) burying his face into my shoulder.
"I-I," I stutter. "Lo-ove y-y-you." Aaron faces me and sniffles. I smile softly and slide my hand away from his face.
"I love you too, Alex," He breathes. He laid me down on the grass flat and bent down. He held tightly on to my hand.
Slowly, he descended to my level, planting a kiss on my lips. He caresses my cheek blindly. We break our kiss and he kneels by my side.
"Please don't leave me," He cries, wavering the doctor over. They float me back across the Hudson where Angelica and Eliza had waited.
They loved me so much.
But so did Aaron.
And now I lost him.
No.
He lost me.
