Ok I'm kind of still in shock because- okay to be honest at times I think my writing is shit because I just have low self esteem and yeah it's sad but whatever.
So a few weeks ago I entered a writing contest at my school and so it had to be a short story or poetry and the theme was about empowerment so especially because I didn't have enough time to create a whole new short story I decided to just submit the oak tree just change the name from Harry to Jay and take out one of the chapters where there's smut and boom.
It was hard though because I edited it and then I'm like lemme reread it just in case and I found more Harry's in it so that just increased my anxiety on the low.
So I handed it in and everyday I would just convince myself that I didn't win and it's okay and like it's not a big deal.
My self esteem level is so high right.
Soooo they announced it in the morning and okay I didn't even hear it because I was talking to my friend.
So then my other friend messaged me
The amount of times I said her name was so jokes now that I'm looking back on it like look at how many times I had to scratch it out and then I had to Scratch out two of her parts because she said my full name but like omg.
So I didn't believe her for the longest time but then she said I swear on my life so I have to believe her and so I went to the office and yeah... um I won.
And like honestly like I didn't even care about the prize but just to know that besides you wonderful babes that people from my school liked my writing was crazy.
As I said low self esteem.
So the librarian (she's the one that hosted the contest) she was just asking me if I just wrote for myself and I'm like yeahhhh sure. And she was just saying how I should take writers craft (creative writing class in grade 12) next year and I'm like yeah I am and she was just saying how she loved the style of the writing and that's what won her over as well as other students that read it. And she said that I should like publish it and what not.
But yeah wow I'm happy.
And I think that's it.
