laundry smell and static calls
THE RUMBLE of the five year old washing machine was the only thing jimin heard as he empties out his clothes onto the table. until his phone started ringing loudly, bells chiming obnoxiously loud and cheery. he abandoned his task to reach for his phone, answering it saying-
JIMIN: "hello, who is this?"
UNKNOWN: "namjoon- uh is this seokjin?"
JIMIN: "no, sorry you got the wrong number."
UNKNOWN: "oh... wa-"
call ended at 4 : 23 P.M
jimin went back to folding his laundry, humming a tune stuck inside his head. the phone started ringing again when he was in the middle of folding his blue jeans. he sighed when he spotted the unknown number, chuckling as he answers it again.
JIMIN: "hello. again." he teased.
UNKNOWN: "i'm sorry, it's just...
i was hoping you were seokjin..."
JIMIN: "well did you scare him off or something?"
UNKNOWN: "no... at least i hope not."
he laughed weakly. "i'm sorry i don't know why i called you back... uh by-"
JIMIN: "no, it's okay... you seem like a good guy-
unless you're one of those serial killers."
UNKNOWN: "i'm pretty sure i'm not,
just a normal guy."
JIMIN: "good, well tell me,
what's your name?"
UNKNOWN: "namjoon, kim namjoon."
pauses, "what's your name?"
JIMIN: "park jimin." put the speaker on
as he set his phone down and continued folding his clothes.
NAMJOON: "jimin... such a pretty name-"
he face palmed loudly.
"-oh god, i'm sorry that slipped."
namjoon groaned.
JIMIN: patting his cheeks with a slight giggle,
"no, no it's fine." a short chuckle escaped his lips,
"aren't you a flirt~" he teased.
NAMJOON: "a charmer actually,
one of my greater qualities."
namjoon suddenly gaining confidence.
"have i wooed you yet?"
JIMIN: laughs, eyes squinting
as he stopped his task,
leaning over the table.
"you're going to have to try a little more, big guy."
NAMJOON: chokes on the water
he was drinking, cheeks flushing.
JIMIN: "okay there?" he smirked,
twirling his hair between his fingers.
NAMJOON: "y-yeah yeah,
my cat jumped on me."
JIMIN: "mhmm, sure. what's your cats name?"
NAMJOON: "uhh... water."
JIMIN: "mm, gotta lie to me better than that."
NAMJOON: "uhhh okay,
i choked on my water."
JIMIN: laughs softly,
shaking his head. "thought so."
jimin and namjoon talk for a twenty minutes about small things until jimin curses and tells namjoon he has to finish folding his clothes.
it was silent then... soft and calming quietness.
jimin gently hummed as he folds up his clothes. he placed his phone on the basket, climbing up the stairs and then made his way to his room.
NAMJOON: "you have a nice voice,
do you sing often?"
JIMIN: blushed lightly,
flopping down on his bed as he places the phone on his chest.
"i do actually... thank you."
NAMJOON: "you're welcome..."
pause, "i have to go, uh talk to you tomorrow?"
JIMIN: "yeah, it was nice getting to know you... bye."
NAMJOON: "bye." chuckles.
call ended at 5 : 08 P.M
