Circling around her mind
the thoughts never leaving her side,
sinking her with feelings
anything but kind.
The rot set in
desperation pounded at her heart,
suffocating her breath
and smiling an empty grin.
One for the family, one for the friends
and even one for herself,
her masks remained intact
through out different trends.
Hiding from everyone
her thoughts and wants,
she moved through her days
like the TV show re-runs.
Longing to share
but afraid of their expectations,
she learned to whisper
silently the same prayer.
She wanted to cry out loud
shout to the whole world,
that she was a coward
just living in a borrowed shroud.
