Somebody threw me a rope,

      when all I could see was fire and smoke

just as I thought —

I am about to drown

Somebody yelled down —

Hold on!

I almost laughed, spitting up water as I yelled back —

Is this a dream?!

Somebody's eyes met mine as the air pushed back into my lungs —

Does it feel like one?

I could not feel the heat, I was not soaking wet —
               
                            What is this?

My eyes flew open and I could tell, all of it had been like looking into the bottom of a well —

Somebody was me, and it was me who saved me inside my dream
