Bound in shackles,
Forced to slave.
Where was the kindness,
That people once gave?
We are now chained to ruin,
To be silent and obsolete.
We are pushed down on our knees,
Never standing up on our feet.
We labour and toil,
Through soil and through rust.
Our hopes and dreams have crumbled,
Fading into dust.
And yet there are those who look up,
Craving for light.
Searching for some answers,
For guidance out of our plight.
Will they find it, I wonder,
The answer to our despair.
Reach for freedom and glory,
For a dream that was never there?
