I have always wondered How the world has come to be
How is it possible To create a life like me?
We all choose to believe In a God that may be real
For how else would they explain Our ability to feel?
Would they say: generic defect? Or some kind of mutation?
Or would they write it off As only our imagination?
But then, in turn, What answer would You give me?
How do we believe In something we can't see?
How do we know it's real And not just a story they tell?
How can we be sure About either Heaven or Hell?
These questions swarm inside my head But I'm too afraid to speak
How can I ask, And get the answers that I seek?
I fear they will condemn me,For questioning what is true
I fear to say the words And ask how anyone ever knew?
I fear, yes, I'm afraid And I don't know what to do
Ask a Christian and they'll say That I should just ask You
But how do I ask? When I can't form the words?
How do I believe in something I've only ever heard?
How can I believe te words? Of a specie who loves to lie?
How can I know I'm safe one day when I die?
How will I know that You're there? How can You expect me to blindly believe?
How do I know You're the reason For the morning, the wind and the eve?
How can You expect us to just believe? For You had made us, so You should know
Why I yearn For these answers so?
If You are my Father, And You had sent Your son
Surely You would understand Why I would want one?

Have you ever had a moment in your life, when you just question everything around you?
Well, that's how I felt when I was writing this poem...
Caught somewhere between logic and belief...
Wanting answers that only God can give me, but hearing only echoes in answer...
Maybe, humans were never meant to know and understand how the world around us works.
Maybe we were only meant to believe everything they tell us.
I'm not trying to stir up trouble, or make anyone question their beliefs, this is just me, raising my opinion, and asking the questions that they tell us not to ask.
Surely, I'm not the only one that's ever wondered?
They tell me to just believe in the words written on a page, A book, might I add,that's been translated from Hebrew to Dutch to my native tongue.
Am I the only one that allows myself to think that maybe some part of the translation was lost over time?
Am I the only one, that doubts the auffenticity of these documents?
We live in a day and age, where new religions spring up everyday, religions made up by people in the world around us.
How can we be sure, that this religion, this way we live by, isn't just some scam, made up hundreds of years ago, that's simply continued through the ages?
I don't know about you, but I find this whole story, to be too good to be true...
