You groan as you rest your head on the library table while your phone falls from your hands.
"Geez, what's going on with you?" asks Dean as he walks into the library holding a fresh bag of takeout food after noticing your little moment
"My sister is getting married." You mumble with your head still resting on the table
"Isn't that a good thing? Shouldn't you be all happy and stuff?" questions Dean confused while he grabs his burger out of the bag
"It's not that I'm not happy for my sister...It's just my mother." You explain with a sigh as you finally looking at him
"What about your mom?" asks Dean still confused with a raised brow
"I just found out about the wedding that's next week and my mom has already texted me about having a date." You explain farther
"So?" asks Dean still not getting what the big deal is making you lift your head with frustration clear in your eyes
"I don't a date Dean and if I don't have a date then my mom is going to set me up with one of her friend's loser son. Even in the Bahamas she would find some guy to set me up with. Last time I came home she made me go out with a guy who lived in his mom's basement and smelt like Cheetos. Plus I ended up having to pay for the meal after he used the excuse of I forgot my wallet and he isn't even the worst guy my mom set me with by far. I can't deal with another one of my mom's dates." You respond with a small shake of your head
"Then just don't go." shrugs Dean biting into burger seeing this as a win-win situation you didn't have to deal with one of your mom's dad and Dean didn't have to go a whole entire week without you
Dean and you have been best friends since the day the two of you met each other. Dean's just friendly feelings though soon after grew into romantic feelings. You have an amazing effect on the Winchester that whenever the two of you are around each other Dean feels calmer and happier. Even when everything is falling apart you always manage to make him smile. Even he has a nightmare and you rush to his side you make him feel calm and safe. So a week or however long this weekend trip will seem torturous to the Winchester. Who wouldn't just miss you but would also miss how you make him feel.
"I can't just not show up, it's my sister. That would be like if you didn't go to Sam's wedding." You disagree until an idea pops into your head
"Wait.....what if-what if I ask Sam to go with me and be my date?" You question as the possible runs through your mind
My parents would probably like him. Sam is nice. You think knowing that at least your parents wouldn't hate him
Dean, on the other hand, chokes on the piece of burger he was eating at your words.
"What?" gets out Dean trying to not freak out at the idea of Sam and you together
"I mean not really be my date or anything just pretending to be. Just to trick my mom into not setting me up with someone." You explain with a small heat on your cheeks from the embarrassment that arises when you thought Dean was thinking you were actually going to ask Sam out
You have always thought of Sam as a brother nothing more so it was a bit weird to you to think of Sam and you in that way.
Dean, of course, knew what you meant and he knows you have no feelings for the younger Winchester but still the thought of you two together even if was just pretending made the older Winchester very sick to his stomach. Which lead Dean to do something a bit impulsive.
"I'll do it, I'll be your fake date.....if you want that is." offers Dean suddenly
"Really?" You question sort of surprised by Dean's offer
The main reason being you couldn't believe he would face his biggest fear just for you, planes, but it turns out you were. wrong
Dean nods in response to your question making a grin form on your face before you are up out of your seat.
"Thank you! Thank you! You are the best friend ever." You say very gratefully as you pull Dean into a huge hug
Dean chuckles knowing that whatever he just got himself into would be worth it if you are happy.
"Seriously this means a lot." You say as you pull back looking into his eyes knowing that it was a big deal Dean would get on a plane just for you
Though Dean wasn't really paying attention to you earlier and has no clue about this little detail.
"It's no problem." says Dean giving you a small smile
You give Dean one last smile before you press a quick kiss to his cheek that makes it turn red.
"I'm going to go tell my mom." You say before you walk almost skip out of the room with giddiness
As you leave it suddenly dawns on Dean just how deep he got himself into. This could either be the best week of his life or the worse. Dean has always wanted to be with you so this pretending thing could ever be a stab in the heart or a nice peace before a storm when things returned to normal and the couple act would drop leaving the Winchester wishing it never did.
I'm screwed. Thinks Dean with a hard gulp
A week later a very nervous and slightly scared Dean Winchester in the airport while you talk with some lady trying to figure out where the two of yours gate is.
Yesterday was when Dean finally find out that he would have to be getting on a plane for the wedding and he almost quit then but he couldn't. The hope, the happiness, admiration the and the gratefulness in your eyes stopped him from doing so. Which is why Dean Winchester, the person who is scared more than anyone of planes, is going to ride on one today all because of a certain y/h/c haired girl that he has fallen in love with asked him too.
You head back towards a jittery Dean after thanking the lady for pointing you in the directions of where your gate is.
"Okay, So I think I figure out where our fate so-Dean, you don't look good are you okay? Are feeling sick?" You question suddenly worried about the Winchester
You start to reach up to feel if he has a fever but Dean stops this action by grabbing your hand in his.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine just nervous about the whole flying thing." answers Dean gulping when he said flying
"Maybe instead of getting you something to eat we should get you something to drink." You suggest
"That sounds like a great idea." says Dean with a nod giving your hand a small squeeze that makes a small smile appear on your lips before the two of you head towards the airport bar
After a visit to the airport bar and a sprint back to your gate, the two of you now sit on the plane side by side. Luckily nobody had decided to sit in the row of 3 with you still Dean and you sit right together. The plane hasn't taken off yet.
Dean hums Metallica softly while your hand is still intertwined with his though now he has a slightly tighter grip on it with his eyes closed. So far you have thought he has done good as you expect the Winchester to try and escape the plane by now or have at least a small freak out but either has happened yet.
"Take off is in five minutes folks so please stay buckled up until the light signals you don't have to be." instructs the airplane attendant over the intercom making Dean's face go white and his grip to tighten
"It's okay, De, everything will be okay." You try to assure whispering into Dean's ear
It seems to work though as his grip loosens a little even though he keeps on humming one of Metallica's greatest hits.
"You okay, sir? You look sick like you are going to barf due to a contagious illness, I'm going to have to escort you off the plane." says the flight attendant who was walking around to make sure everyone is buckled up
You speak up knowing Dean right now is too busying trying to calm himself down to answer though he does open one eyelid.
"Yeah, he's fine, just a very nervous flyer." You explain with a small smile hoping that she doesn't escort the two of you off of the plane
"Oh, I got you hon. Don't worry we get tons of those in here. You have nothing to worry about I have been on tons of flights before and I'm still standing here. Only one in 1.2 million crash and there is a good chance we won't be that one." says the flight attendant patting Dean's arm before she walks off
Even though you know she was trying to help she shouldn't have added the last part because Dean's eyes are now looking at you with panic in them and his hand has a very tight grip on yours now.
"What if we are that one? What if we are the one that crashes Y/N? We never get lucky so why should that change here?" questions Dean having his small freak out now
I should have known we couldn't take off without at least a tiny freak out. You think with a small sigh
"We are going to die. This is it." says Dean shaking his head slightly as you attention now is fully focused on him
"Dean, we-" You start to comfort him until the flight attendant comes back over the intercom
"We are now ready for take off." announces the flight attendant before the plane starts to moving
These flight attendants really have bad timing. You think slightly annoyed as Dean's already tight grip tightens more
"Dean, we are going to be okay. The plane isn't going to crash." You try to assure as Dean's breathing grows heavy
"Yes, it is. Oh my gosh." says Dean when the plane hits a bump in the road
You scramble to try and think of some way to calm the Winchester down but can't think of anything.
"I can't do this! I need off of this plane...we both need off of this plane I can't let you die either." says Dean with his voice raising a little
You can't help but think the last part of his words is quite sweet even though a bunch of eyes are on the two of you due to them hearing Dean.
"Dean calm down the plane isn't going to crash." You say softly as the plane nears the end of the runway
"Yes it is." insists Dean almost yelling now making more eyes look to the two of you
You know you have to do something now before Dean starts screaming when the plane actually takes off. You know that probably after the plane is in the air Dean will probably calm down. You just need to figure out something to distract the Winchester.
"Oh, my gosh. Oh my gosh, we are going up. Here we go to our-" starts to exclaim Dean loudly until you impulsively lean forward and press your lips to Dean's cutting his words off
Dean doesn't kiss you back for a second from shock but once he does you can't help but feel the warm sparks that spread over the both of you. The kiss is warm and you can feel the emotions that both of you have been repressing for years flow into the kiss. The two of you only pull back when the both of you need air and luckily the plane is now steadily in the air.
"What was that?" breathes out Dean
"Something that I should have done a long time ago." You answer with a nervous smile deciding to put everything out on the table since you already placed something on the table
"So you didn't just do that to calm me down?" asks Dean softly and a bit nervous thinking that was the reason you kissed him
Dean finding it hard to believe someone as amazing as you actually wants to kiss him.
"No, I kissed you...because I love you Dean." You answer with a nervous and slightly scared edge to your voice
All worry though melts away when a huge grin spreads over Dean's face.
"I love you too, Y/N. I love you so much that I even got on a plane for you." says Dean always one to lighten the mood and stop being so serious
You chuckle at Dean's comment.
"A modern day Romeo move huh?" You question with a goofy smile
"Definitely, I know you were impressed." answers Dean jokingly
"I was, I thought it was super sweet you would get on a plane just for me." You comment seriously that makes Dean's smile grow
"Well, I guess it shows how much I would do for the girl I love." says Dean making your smile grow before you press your lips back to his
Turns out you had a real date to your sister's wedding after all.
