It was absolutely nonsense. For the past four days, Dev had skipped breakfast to avoid Sonakshi. Why? He felt sorry about the kiss. She was his employee and moreover, he was dating someone else and so was she.
It was a good night kiss, he reminded himself.
Wrong, kissing twice isn't a good night kiss.
Ok, good night kisses.

He sipped his coffee as Sonakshi sat down on the chair across him and smiled. "Morning, Dev. I'm glad to see you at breakfast after four days. I'm sorry that you were ashamed about the kiss. If I would have known, I wouldn't have allowed it." There was annoyance in her voice and she made no effort to hide it. Dear god, it was only a kiss. They didn't share the same bed.
Dev heard what Sonakshi said but couldn't reply. He swore she never looked prettier before than now as she sat in a yellow sun dress that made her eyes looked wonderful. And, the dress did wonders to her ample curves.
"Dev!" Aarti rushed into the dining room and then into her brother's arms. "Good morning."
"Good morning. What are you doing here?" He kissed her cheek and looked.
"I wanted just wanted to know where Sonakshi lived."
Dev smiled, "She lives right behind you, Aarti." He turned her around and they both looked at her.
"Morning Aarti." She still had an irritated smile on her lips.
"You live here. Why?"
Sonakshi laughed at her. "I'm Shivani, Sia, and Sanju's nanny sweetheart. Don't get your hopes high again." When she told herself that it's her hopes that were suddenly high. She had decided to break off with Neil only because that was in her best interest, after two people warning her about him. She didn't want any troubles.
"What are you doing here?"
"Wondering if you could go shopping with me."
"I can't, Aarti. It's Wednesday and I work."
Aarti frowned at her and then turned to her brother. "She's going with me, Bhai and you won't sack her. If you do, you'll face me." She patted his cheek. "Where are my three favorite nieces?"
"At Mom's place still. And, Sonakshi can go since they aren't home. I don't need her around anyways."
"Good. I was about to say the same thing."
"Aarti would you like breakfast?"
"No. I had breakfast, but you guys finish then we'll go."
"Thanks." Sonakshi smiled and continued her breakfast.

Sonakshi got home around eight that night as it rained terribly. Mrs Jones told her that Shivani and Sanjana were still at their grandmothers house but Sia had come back. When she wanted to go see her, Mrs Jones told her that she was sleeping at the moment. Sadly, Sonakshi went back to her room and changed into a pair of sweats and a shirt, with her hair loosely pulled back in a braid. After answering to her sister's e-mails she worked on a few articles and then decided she could use a cup of coffee.
Rain hit hard on the windows of her room. Thunder rumbled in the dark sky outside but she looked it. As she passed Sia's room humming, she heard the T.V. on. She went closer and saw the lights closed and someone crying inside. She stopped and waited to comfirm. Although it didn't happen again, she wanted to make sure the little girl was ok.
She knocked on her door. When she didn't hear an answer, she opened the door and looked around. The room was dark, beside the T.V.'s light. She glanced at the bed and didn't find her there, but in the corner of the room.
The child was terrified. Her knees were pulled up to her chest and she was hugging them tightly. Sonakshi rushed to her quickly and dropped to her sides. What could have frightened the little girl? Sonakshi wondered. When they heard thunder rumbled again and lighting flash in her room again, Sia jumped and held Sonakshi tightly. She was as pale as a ghost, in fact worst.
Then Sonakshi remembered Dev had mentioned once that Sia hated thunders since her mothers death. The only logical reason was that it was pouring on the day of the accident.
Sia trembled for a very long time holding Sonakshi. And, Sonakshi was going to stay there until the child needed her. When her trembling ended, Sonakshi carried her to the bed and laid her down, still holding her hand to let her know she was there.
Dev threw his briefcase on the sofa and ran up to Sia's room, skipping two steps at a time. He almost tripped a few times but at the moment nothing was more important that his daughter. He knew for a fact she would be terrified. He had left his office the second he had heard the first thunder crack in the sky. He threw the door open with his heart pounding within him.
"Ssshhh." She hissed as Sia opened her eyes and clutched Sonakshi's waist again. Then noticed Dev.
"Daddy." She held the other hand towards him and he rushed to her.
"I'm here Sia." He picked her up in his arms and hugged her, terrified himself.
"I'm right here."
"I thought you wouldn't come back like Mommy."
Dev clutched his eyes shut tightly while Sonakshi couldn't stop the tears. She knew exactly how the little girl felt. She didn't want them seeing her cry, so she excused herself. Although Dev wanted to run behind her and make sure she was ok, he waited. Rocked Sia to sleep and then went to Sonakshi's room.
He didn't bother to knock, but she knew he was there. He placed a hand on her shoulder and she turned around and threw her arms around him, crying. He hesitated to hold her back but he did. He didn't speak or ask her to quiet down. He held her until she needed it and allowed her to cry while stroking her hair. When she was quite, but still holding him he spoke.
"Are you ok?"
She flinched at his voice and her eyes opened. She didn't know how long she had been standing in his arms but it felt like thirty seconds if not less. She pulled away and rubbed her face.
"I'm sorry."
"Are you ok?" He placed a hand on her head. "You look so pale, Sonakshi. Why did you suddenly start crying?"
"I just remember how I felt when Mom was sick after Dad died. I couldn't help but cry." She smiled weakly. "Thank you."
"No, thank you for taking care of Sia. I was so worried for her. How was shopping?"
Shivani was about to enter the room to come see her father when she stopped hearing them talk.
"It was ok. Would you like something to drink?"
"Yes, Whiskey would help."
She grinned at him. "I was thinking more along the lines of a hot drink. Coffee or hot coco?"
"Hot coco sounds good."
"Ok." She brushed past him when he stopped her. She turned and watched him walk towards her. "Stop." She placed a hand on his chest. "Don't kiss me again, Dev. Specially if you're going to avoid me for four days afterwards, like last time."
Shivani's eyes widened as tears streamed down her face. Her father had kissed, Sonakshi? What?
He smiled and pressed his lips to her forehead. "You don't know how glad I am to have you taking care of my daughters. Thank you." He walked towards the door and Shivani quickly ran to her room.
She sat on her bed crying with her mothers picture in her hand. She couldn't believe her father was having an affair with their nanny. That was the most ridiculous things she had ever heard of in her life. She knew for a fact that Sonakshi Bose was only playing with her father's heart for his money. She was going to trap him and the send all three of them away to a boarding schools, separate ones even, so they couldn't do anything to come back.
When Shivani told Dev's mother she laughed at her and patter her cheek. "You're exaggerating, Shivani. I'm sure your father isn't having an affair with Sonakshi. He's dating Natasha as it is. He wouldn't ditch. It's not like my son."
"Well you're son might have changed. I'm sure there is something wrong. That lady is doing black magic on my father. I'm sure he'll say one day when I get back from school that we are going away to a boarding school forever. And, that he's getting married to Sonakshi Bose. She's so evil."
The lady laughed and pulled her granddaughter in for a hug. "We'll talk to him, darling. Don't worry."
"You better, because I rather have Natasha marrying my father than Sonakshi."
"I don't think you would, Shivani, if you knew Natasha better," her grandmother thought.

Shivani was spending the night with her friend Erin and Sia and Sanjana were at dance class and then were going to stay with Aarti for the night. Dev wouldn't be back home until late and Sonakshi had already asked Mrs Jones to leave for the night. She was planning to relax and watch T.V. for the rest of the time and then go to bed.
But as she sat down, Sonakshi also stood back up right away because the door bell rang. She quickly skipped down the stairs and ran to the door and opened it.
"Neil?" There was an astonished look on her face as he walked into without ever asking.
"Hi Sonakshi. I'm glad to find out home alone."
"Neil you're not supposed to be here. If Dev finds out he'll be angry. As it is, I broke up with you three days ago. Then why are you here?"
"Because," he turned around and pulled her closing the door behind them, but not locking it. "You haven't been fair to me at all." He untied her hair and pulled it so her head lifted up. At that moment, she realized he was completely drunk.
"Neil you're drunk and you need to leave right away before I call the police."
"Oh not so easily Miss. Bose. You owe me. I've spent money and time on you and expect a return gift."
"What do you want?" She pushed him back and rubbed her hand on the back of her head.
"You."
"Shut-up and leave, Neil." She felt her pocket and made sure her phone was in there. "We're not even dating anymore."
"Well I'm sure, we can still share a night." He pushed her down on the day bed and fell over her. "If you can with your boss, I'm sure you can with a guy you've dated."
When he tried to kiss her, she turned his head in defense. "What nonsense, Neil? I haven't slept with Dev."
"Don't you dare lie to me. I saw you guys are Royal Cafe together that night, kissing while you were still dating me. You're a witch, Sonakshi. And, I've had my eye on you for quite sometime now."
She looked up at him disgusted and finally started to struggle when he pinned her arms on her sides. "And, tonight I'll have you. And, no will save you either." He lowered his mouth to her, harsh and violent. Sonakshi tried to free her hands but he was too strong for her. She instead she lifted her knee and lifted it to his stomach, and kicked. In pain, he jerked away and she quickly took her phone out of her hand and dialed Dev's number. But he pushed the phone aside and slapped her hard enough to where she started bleeding. Then he pushed her to the floor hard and fell over her.
Dev reached to the other side and quickly picked up her phone to see Sonakshi's number. "Hello." No one spoke and he waited. "Hello." He said again, then heard a scream. Confused he ended the call and called the home number. When no one picked up it either, he picked up speed and drove home quicker than he had ever before. Something was going terribly wrong.
Neil ripped her sleeved and bit her shoulder hard and deep. Making her cry in pain. She begged and pleaded under him but he acted like he was deaf.
"Neil stop it, please. I haven't done anything wrong to you, just leave me. Please. Someone save me." When he left one of her hands and reached for the snap of her jeans she pressed her hand to his face and pushed him away and stood up running away. He got her leg again and she fell against the table, hitting her head into a sharp angle and starting to bleed.
"Neil stop it." She was there again, thankfully he was drunk and fumbled with the buttons of her shirt. "Some help me," she cried and then lifted her head. He still had her there, and unbuttoned another button. Both her hands were free now and she lifted him to push him away. But before her hands reached his chest he already lifted up, and then punched into the face. Sonakshi closed her eyes and then sat up quickly, sobbing. When she noticed Dev endlessly beating him she stood to stop him but then watched Neil push him away and run from there. Dev instead of running behind him ran to Sonakshi taking his jacket off at the same time.
He fell down beside her and wrapped her in the jacket and then her into his arms. She was trembling there, endlessly. Her face was bleeding and pale. She continued to tug at his shirt trying to get closer as she cried and trembled at the same time.
"Sonakshi please calm down." He stroked her hair but nothing was helping. Then he scooped her into his arms and took her back to his room.
When he sat her down on the bed and stood to leave she pulled him back down. "Don't leave me, Dev. Please don't leave me alone again." When he held her again she was crying again.
"Sonakshi please stop crying. We need to stop the bleeding from your head, I'll be right back." He laid her down and quickly left and came back with a first aid box
