Chapter 12 Arabella's POV
As soon as I stepped back into the dorm fresh out of the shower I was moving back into the bathroom again. Shocked by the sight of Harry sitting on my bed and Ally shuffling through her clothes.
"Ari?" She calls to me. "Are you getting ready?" She asks knocking lightly on the door. I lean against it mortified that Harry just saw me in nothing but a towel. No guy besides Nathan has seen me like that even if it was for a second. Its still highly embarrassing.
"Ready for what?" I ask her wishing I had brought my clothes in here. I didn't think anyone was going to be back by the time I got out. My phone calls took up toomuch time.
"The party you promised me you would come to!" She reminds me causing me to throw my head back. I had forgotten all about that. I'm not prepared to go to a party. I am so exhausted. Between class and dancing all day. And I really need to get working on the work I'm going to miss next Monday and Tuesday. "Don't even think about flaking on me!" She pounds on the door once.
I take a deep breath before replying. "Will you get me that dress you were going to let me wear?"
"Yes!" She calls sounding very excited. I can just take my car so that I don't have to stay as late as I know she is going to. And Harry is here to talk about dance. Is he ready to talk in front of Ally? We do need to talk, like now. We're already down to four months before the competition.
Ally pushes open the door sticking the dress through the door. "Hurry and I can do you hair and make up. We have to leave soon." She tells me.
"I can do them." I assure her but she instantly starts naming all the reasons I can't. I tune her out while I get dressed. She did this to help me relax and its only making me more tense. This is going to be a very long night. I have no idea where we're going and the only person I am going to know is her. I really need to make time for more friends. I'm so busy that I never notice how few of friends I really have. Anthony is my only one. I have Ally but its not the same.
I walk out of the bathroom and instantly feel Harry's eyes reach me. I ignore him for the moment and ask Ally to do whatever shes going to with me. She sits me down in her computer chair right across from Harry. Now its hard to avoid eye contact with him.
"Hi." I speak to him. His lip twitches slightly at my tone. I know I sound nervous and I am. I'm going to some strange party with strange people.
"Hi." He chuckles running his thumb over his bottom lip with piercing intact. I look for longer than I should before pulling away.
"I would die for your eyes." Ally says to me as she coats them in endless amounts of makeup. I don't respond but watch as Harry's phone rings and he leaves the room. I silently wonder who it was. Was it a girl hes seeing? Was it a friend? What would they talk about? Does whoever it is know he's going to be dancing with me? Probably not. Ally, who seems to me to be his bestfriend, doesn't even know.
"Alright thats done. Lets do your hair. Its so thick I don't know what to do with it. Mines too thin."She picks up stray pieces and then glances at the clock. "We don't have much time. We'll go simple." She speaks grabbing my bangs and starts braiding.
By the time we start walking to the car my feet are already killing me from these heels. How do girls wear these everyday? I can feel blisters coming on already.
"Are you sure the dress isn't too short?" I pull at the hemline as I hide behind Ally. I don't want people to see me. I feel like I'm naked walking around like this.
Ally stops walking,turns around and wraps her arms around my shoulders.
"Listen to me, you are a beautiful strong sexy woman. You should start showing it. Don't be self conscious of anyway you look or what people will think. You're young and you deserve to act like it. Got it?" She asks in a stern voice. I just nod releasing the bottom of my dress. She smiles and wraps one arm around me as we finish our walk to the car.
When we stop I notice we're in front of Harry's car. How can he have a motorcycle and a car? I can barley afford my car alone. And as far as I know Harry is unemployed.
"Where the fuck is he? We're going to be late." Ally huffs removing her arm from around me to pull out her phone and call Harry.
"We're here." Harry's voice spoke from behind me. I spun to see him and a blond boy standing behind us.
"Niall," Ally spoke "I didn't know you were coming." she stepped forward to give him a hug.
"I hadn't planned on it until I came to visit you and found Harry. He told me your goin' to a party?" Niall asked his little sister. I stood off to the side shocked that Ally had a brother. I never knew that about her. Theres a lot we don't know about each other.
"We are. It's Ally's first college party. Oh right, I could introduce you all. Ally this is my annoying older brother Niall,he goes to cali state. Niall this is my beautiful shy roommate, Ally."
Niall reaches over to shake my hand. "Nice to meet you." I speak first with a smile.
"Ally is right you're very beautiful." He smiled deeply at me causing my face to redden.
"Oh, um thank you.But I don't usually look like this. I mean with the makeup and the dress." I look down at myself.
"Whatever way you normally dress I'm sure its just as stunning." He speaks still holding my hand in a shake.
Harry clears his throat walking between our hands making us disconnect them. "If you two are done falling in love, I'd like to go sometime today." He gets into the driver side and closes the door.
Ally just laughs racing to the passenger side. "I call shot gun. no making out in the back seat you two. For one you've got a boyfriend." she points at me, "And two that'd be weird my roommate and my brother together. I will puke." She jumps in the car while I walk to the door behind Harry.
"Oh allow me." Niall jumps in front of me to open my door. i stare at him for a second because no guy has ever done that for me before.
"We haven't got all day. I swear I will leave you both her Um,thanks." I slide into the car holding my dress down.
"All set."Niall says shutting his door and sending me another smile.
"You all get out here. I'm going to find a place to park."
"Good luck with that. c'mon guys, I need a shot." Ally jumps out of the car weaving her way around cars and people in the yard of the large house before I can even get out.
"Ari! Hurry your pretty ace up!" She calls from the door way attracting attention my way. I keep my head down as I walk past the people toward Ally.
"Come on you two. Lets get drinks." She grabbed my hand as Niall waved to a few people he knew as he walked behind us. We have to weave our way through the crowd of people dancing or talking or drinking.There was so much noise from everything in the house I thought I was going deaf.
As we got to the kitchen in the back of the house it was a little less noisy from all the music.
"Jimmy!"Ally ran into the arms of a guy who hugged her back. They were speaking but I couldn't hear what they were saying. Niall stepped from around me to greet Jimmy in a handshake hug thing guys do.
"This is Ari." Ally introduced me. "Jimmy is the owner of this huge ass house and knows how to throw the greatest parties." Ally told me. I smiled at him in greeting since I couldn't reach him to shake hands.
"You look like you could use a drink girl!" He laughs while looking me up and down. I wanted to jump behind Niall and hide but knew that would only embarrass myself. "How about A sex on the beach?" He asked yelling so I could hear him. My eyes widened at his words. Was he so bluntly asking me for sex?
"Shes kind of an alcohol virgin Jimmy." Harry was suddenly behind me.
"Harry,nice to see you mate. So maybe we should give her the night of her life. How about it blondie?" He poked Ally who giggled.
"No jello shots." Niall said shaking his head. "You'll have her drunk in ten minutes."
Jimmy smirked looking at me. "Oh we're going to do all kinda of shots. I'm going to teach you everything about getting drunk." Jimmy wrapped his arms around my shoulders. I wanted to brush him off but that seemed rude.
"I shall start by one jello shot for all of us." Jimmy walked to the fridge grabbing trays of jello.
"Don't worry. Relax and enjoy yourself. This is the easy stuff wait until they start doing body shots." She laughs walking forward to get her shot. My stomach flipped at this news. No way was I doing that. But I may need some alcohol to deal with watching it.
"One for you." Ally placed green jello in a clear cup in my hand.
"On three. One..two..four" Jimmy through his head back pouring the jello in his mouth. I watched as everyone else did the same. I was wondering how we were suppose to drink these. I copied everyone else and threw my head back. The jello tasted like watermelon with a sting of alcohol. I shook my head after I swallowed and look up the find them all starring at me.
"What?" I asked them. Ally and Niall smiled while Harry started grabbing other drinks and pouring them into a glass.
"Another!" Jimmy screamed handing me another jello shot.
Three shots later I'm standing on the back patio filled with people sipping on my second sex on the beach. Its apparently a drink. A very good one. Jimmy did know his alcohol.
I was watching Ally dance in the grass with tons of other people. I don't think I've ever seen so many in my life. They were people swimming and dancing and having such a good time. Being young, just like Ally said. I wanted to be them. To be carefree. And just let loose.
Ally said she wouldn't leave my side but she did the second someone asked her to dance. But I didn't really mind. I liked swaying slowly to the music where I am.
Niall,Harry and Jimmy all disappeared. Where to I'm not really sure. It wasn't hard for Jimmy to get distracted though.
"You're looking a little lonely."
I looked up to find a boy now standing next to me. He had very short brown hair and a very cute smile.
"I'm Tyler, would you like to dance?" He nodded toward the mass of sweaty bodies grinding on each other.
"Thanks but I have a boyfriend." I turned back toward the dancers.
He chuckled shocking me he was still there.
"I didn't ask you to marry just for a dance,love." He smiled showing off a single dimple in his right cheek.
I realized he was right. I always brush it off when guys talk to me because I have Nathan. But I can have guy friends, he has girl friends. Its the same thing
"Yeah, you're right sorry. Lets dance." I set my now empty glass on a table next to me and followed him to the dance floor.
I saw Ally dancing with a guy as we suddenly became surrounded by people. Her eyes went wide when she saw me with Tyler before giving a thumbs up. I rolled my eyes and started swaying my hips to the song I've never heard before.
Tyler danced next to me and smiled as we made eye contact. This was a great song, i'll have to ask Ally what its called.
"You're a good dancer." Tyler yelled in my ear over the music.I smiled holding back a laugh.
"You too!" and I meant it. He was a pretty good dancer. He clearly hasn't been doing it forever but he's pretty good.
Just then the song ended and everyone was standing still for a moment waiting for the next song. But it was a slow song. I instantly felt awkward for standing here with a boy I didn't know. I can see him about to ask to dance in his eyes.
"Wanna dance?" A voice come from behind me. I turn to see Harry. I sigh in relief Idon't have to deny this stranger.
"Thanks for the dance" I say to Tyler. I turn toward Harry as he puts his hands on my waist. If I wasn't half drunk I would have felt very awkward. Which is not good since he is going to be my dancing partner.
"Thanks for saving me." I tell him. He nods looking above my head. Which was easy since he was almost a foot taller.
"I did it so I could talk to you. You seem to have been busy since we got here and we were suppose to talk tonight." His voice is deep and oddly I can hear him clearly over the music.
"Yeah I planned on it but this dumb party." I spoke as someone bumped into my back pushing me into Harry a bit. My balance wasn't the greatest right now. "Sorry."
"Not your fault. I think we should just talk tomorrow when we're both sober." His eyes finally met mine. I nodded staring at the green. It was bright and bouncing,maybe it was the crazy lights but they were glowing.
His eyes flicked down to my lips and back to my eyes. Our faces were so close. If I just stood on my tiptoes we could kiss.
"I'll talk to you later." He moved away from me leaving me standing stunned in the middle of slow dancers. I stared at his retreating form.
I shook my head. What had just happened? I had thought about him kissing me. I need a drink.
After pushing my way through the crowd and back into the kitchen I found Ally about to do a shot. She held the glass in her hand as she reached for the guy she was dancing with and licked his neck before putting salt on his neck? What was she doing?
Then she licked his neck again,took the shot and stuck a lime in her mouth. People around her cheered. She smiled at them all before cheering too.
"Ari!" She screamed as she saw me. I bit my lip as everyone turned toward me. "Come do a shot!" She clapped. I walked toward her not seeing a way out of this.
"Who wants to offer to have the salt licked off their neck by this fine ass babe right here?" She swung her arm around my neck. I noticed all the guys surrounding us staring at me.
"I'll do it." Niall said pushing his way toward me. A few cheers came out. "So you don't have to lick a random guys neck" he whispered in my ear. I was thankful for him in that moment. I didn't want to lick a nasty sweaty guys neck. No offense to N but I didn't even want to lick his neck.
"Wait,here. A shot for encouragement." Ally handed me a shot of something. I took it and downed it quickly. It burned like hell going down. I squinted my eyes and shook my head.
"Another." I handed her back the glass she cheered as some guy poured it.I took it and it burned slightly less this time.
Ally was laughing at the face I made. "Ready? Lick his neck,pour salt on it. Lick it,do the shot and then eat the lime. Got it?" She asked me. I nodded taking the salt from the counter.
Niall smiled before turning his neck so I could reach. I closed my eyes and just did it. Thank god for the alcohol giving me bravery. I poured the salt. And licked again, did the burning shot and quickly put the lime in my mouth. That shot was stronger than the one I did before.
Cheers came from all around me. I smiled looking around Ally was smiling pouring another shot and handing it to me. This was really fun.I quickly took the shoot now joining in on the cheers.
"There you are! I made another round of sex on the beach and I saved you one. But I see you're doing the hard stuff. Adda girl!" Jimmy appears patting me on the back.
"Thanks! I'll still take it. It's delicious." I took the drink. I downed it in under five minutes as I leaned against the wall watching other people down shots.
When I was done I set the cup down and looked around. I needed to pee. I tried to find someone that I knew but couldn't find anyone. I started wandering around the house looking for a bathroom.
"You look lost." A voice spoke in my ear. I spun to find a boy with light brown hair staring at me.
"I am. I have to pee." I said to him and then hiding back a laugh because I just told a stranger that. He cracked a smirk too watching me.
"C'mon I'll show you the only safe bathroom in this house right now." I would normally ask what he meant by that but I had to pee so bad I didn't really care.
He led me up the stairs past a bunch of people waiting in a line for something. We passed them as some people cheered at us. Why were they cheering?
"Get it,Louis!" Someone called up to us. I eyed them strangely as we passed. Get what?
"Shut up!" The guy leading me apparently named Louis said.
We kept walking to the last room in the hall while he pulled out a key unlocking the door.
"You have a key?" I asked him. He smiled at me leading me inside the bedroom.
"Bathroom is in there. I'll guard the door." He sat on the bed.
I walked inside the lavish bathroom shocked by its size. There was a tub I could swim in and a shower thats the size of my dorm room.
As I was finishing up I could hear voices talking on the other side of the door. Good thing Louis stayed out there to stand watch.
I washed my hands managing to only knock down a few things onto the floor. I laughed trying to pick them all up.
I wipe my hands on my dress as I exit the bathroom.
"Just get it to me,damn it.I don't have time to wait."
I stopped seeing Nathan standing in the doorway talking to Louis.
"Nathan!" I squeal running into him to give him a hug. "What are you doing here?" I ask into his chest.
"I came to see you." He rubs my back.
"You're such a good boyfriend." I kiss his chest.
"Who brought you here?" He whispers in my ear. I laugh because he doesn't need to whisper. Louis is the only one in here.
"Why are you whisper?" I whisper back.
"Answer the question." He pulls me out of the room. I wave to Louis who gives a small one back. His face makes me laugh again. "Ari." Nathan turns me around once we're in the hallway so I'm facing him.
"Nathan." I say in the same tone but with a smile. Hes so funny sometimes.
"Who brought you?" He asks again staring into my eyes.
"Harry did. Hey! Did you know that he has a motorcycle too? He has motorcycle and a car?" I say remembering when I saw him on the motorcycle.
"Thats great. C'mon." He pulls me by my wrist down the hall.
"You should get a motorcycle. They're hot." I giggle as he pulls me down the stairs. I stumble a little in my heels. "Wait where are we going?" I ask him bumping into people as I walk. I try to apologize but I get pulled away before I can.
"Home." Nathan says simply. I tug my hand back from him.
"No! I want to dance! I can show you." I smile wrapping my arms around his neck.
He yanks me down a few more steps until we reach a landing and he backs me into the corner. People pass by us ignoring that we're even here.
"Listen. I knew you were coming here tonight but I didn'5 know you were going to dress like a bimbo and drink yourself stupid I would have stopped you. I'm taking you home and I don't ever want to see you like this again. What if I hadn't come? Who would take you home? What if some guy tried to take advantage of the state you're in? Do you not think?" He practically yells all these things in my face. Every word I fight off the tears. Hes never spoke to me this way. "Lets go." He pulls on my arm again sending me stumbling down the stairs and landing on my ankle wrong in these heels.
"Ow." I pull my arm away from him to look at my ankle.
"What are you doing? Let's go." He pulls on me again making me stumble on my ankle some more. I fall down onto my ankle again. It hurts so bad I drop down onto my butt.
"Shit,oh my god." I curse biting my lip. It hurts so bad. I slide my shoe off carefully.
"What the fuck are you doing?" Nathan asks looking down on me.
"I hurt myself." I tell him.
"Arabella." My name is spoken by Harry. He pushes his way through the people on the stairs as he rushes to my side.I'm glad to see him. He can help me explain to Nathan I'm hurt. Nathan can't see thats why he's acting so mean. "How hurt are you?" He kneels by me.
"It hurts really bad, Harry." I tell him wiping the tears.
"Okay. I'll carry you back to the car. If its bad we'll go to the hospital." He speaks about to scoop me up. I lift my arms so he can carry me.
"The hell you are. You aren't taking her anywhere." Nathan yells getting in Harry's way of me.
"Listen dipshit. I saw you yank her down the stairs. You're the reason she' hurt. Shes a dancer for a living do you knowshe can't dance if she fucking broke her ankle because of you? I suggest you get far away from us while you still can." Harry gets in Nathan's face. I want to yell at them to stop but the pain in my ankle and Harry's words stop me.
What if my foot is broken? I can't dance.I'm no one if I can dance.
Fresh tears pour down my face as Nathan and Harry yell at each other. I suddenly feel really dizzy and sick. I nees to get. Out of here. I want to go home. "Arabella. Does it hurt that much?" Harry asks me kneeling by my side again.
"I want to go home." I sobbed into my arms.
"I'll take you."Nathan tells me reaching down to scoop me up. I let him pick me up as I wrap my arms around him. I sob quietly in his arms as he carries me away from this crazy party.

Shes also going to be writing a fanfic and I'll let you guys know about it when she uploads it.
