*Daichi's POV*
Yui turns around and looks at me. She stares at me and I lower my gaze, ashamed.
Minutes tick by.
"Yu-"
"Daichi, tell me. Do you...love me?" I widen my eyes in shock.
I slowly, very slowly and hesitantly shake my head. Then, I brace myself for screaming or a slap across my face. It never did happen. I look up. Tears are running down her face.
"I'm sorry..."
"Did you ever love me?" she asks, face looking as if my answer is everything to prevent her from shattering.
"Yes, I did." I lied. All along, I treated love like a game.
"Hahahahahahaha... I knew you didn't love me. I...expected it. I knew when we started dating that someday, you'll look at someone else. I prepared myself for it. But it's still painful... I love you Daichi. Why did it have to be this way?" She feverishly wipes her overflowing tears. I stare at her, helpless.
"...Do you love Koushi?" she suddenly asks after minutes of silence.
All my life I had never thought about it. Suga is a guy. Not that I was against homosexual relationships. Afterall, Kageyama and Hinata started dating years ago and are still happy together now. However, Suga is my best friend. Do best friends fall in love? Does he love me? Do I love him? Memories of our time together stream in my head like a collage video. All I see is his smile. His smile. Refreshing. Perfect. Sweet. Beautiful.
