Oblivion

Von Orizielle

Please write me a love poem
In the dead of the night
Fleeting to the early morning hours, when I
feel most alive
Tell me your stories recalled from childhood of lemon bedsheets
and a lullaby, perhaps.
Oh lover, kiss me till my lips are numb
Kiss me into delirious obscurity.
Kiss me while there is still time, to
start a Revolution, before
the night fades away and we disappear.
Did you know the colour of oblivion
is cherry-red?
Taken from all of the light years
between us and the North-star
that seeps into my everyday like opus
from a void.

I bleed tonight,
But mornings are beautiful from
under the curtains of my bedroom.
Reeking of a spaced-out dream and promise.
Mornings are beautiful like the smell of
ginger-tea and my mother's voice
as you fall away from the edges of my eyes.
So, don't come back, lover.
I have bled enough, in anonymity and cherry-red.
