The next day everyone was in the living room waiting to meet their new comrade. It was almost twelve which was the time they were told to meet here. Itachi was actually nervous. Izuka on the other hand just wanted to get it over with. Currently she was walking down the halls behind Konan and Pein heading towards the living room. She was still in pain as she walked clutching her stomach. She really didn't feel like meeting S-ranked criminals not wanting to be associated with them but it was her mission.
They then stepped into the living room but no one could see her with Konan and Pein in the way blocking everyone's view.
"This is your new member, Izuka." Pein said stepping aside so everyone could see Izuka.
They all stared at her taking in her beauty except Itachi. He was trying his best to avoid looking at her but couldn't resist staring at the state she was in all because of Orochimaru. It looked like she hasn't bathed in weeks, she looked much thinner since the last time he saw her, and he couldn't ignore the cuts that covered her body. Izuka was staring back at the other members getting annoyed but keeping up her emotionless mask avoiding Itachi's gaze.
"Introduce yourselves," Pein ordered.
"Kazuku," A man with his face covered except for his light green and pink eyes spoke.
His aura was incredible. He seemed very powerful and seemed like he has a lot of experience.
"The name's Hidan bitch," A man with silver hair and purple eyes said.
"Well that wasn't very nice," Izuka thought.
"Zetsu," A black and white plant said?
"Kisame," The man with blue skin that looks like a shark who was also with Itachi in the Leaf village introduced.
"Deidara," A guy with long blonde hair who has his eye covered said with a smirk on his face.
"Sasori," A man said who was hunched over with spiked up hair and his face covered but his eyes.
To a mere person you'd think that he was real but to a trained eye who has seen a lot of things such as Izuka it was only a puppet.
"My name is Tobi! Tobi is so happy to finally meet Izuka! Wow you're so pretty! Tobi likes you!" A person wearing a swirly orange mask with one eye hole squealed.
Everyone winced at his loudness but she remained emotionless and unaffected.
"Itachi," Itachi introduced.
Izuka avoided looking at him. She could tell that he was trying to avoid looking at her too. The tension in the air was thick between them and the rest of the members could feel it also. Everyone looked between the two noticing that they didn't look at each other at all not even a glimpse. Something had to of happened between the two. It was actually very awkward between the two but hatred was radiating off of Izuka which Itachi could feel.
Itachi didn't want to accept it but he knew that Izuka hated him and wanted nothing to do with him except his death. For all he knew she could be planning his funeral right now. He couldn't let her disrupt his plans so he had to avoid her as much as possible. He knew that she could kill him easily. She had grown stronger in the five years since they last saw each other but he didn't know the full extent of her power. She hadn't used her Sharingan yet but it was probably for the best.
He didn't want to risk anything. He doesn't want to get her angry; angry enough to want to kill him but she probably is planning to kill him in his sleep as they stand there. He wanted to confront her but he knew that he couldn't. She is still the enemy and always will be. Even if they did get back together she will be a distraction. None of the Akatsuki spoke as the both of them stared into space as the rest of the men besides Itachi were staring at Izuka.
"Can I go back to my room? I still need to heal." Izuka asked turning to Pein.
"Yes; you need your rest. Once you're fully recovered you will be facing someone to test your strength."
"Then you better make sure they're strong." She warned as she turned away from everyone heading into her room.
"Well she's friendly," Deidara said sarcastically.
"What else did you expect? She's being held here against her will, she's an ANBU captain whose job is to kill us, and we threatened her village. I don't blame her." Kakazu spoke up.
"I guess you're right," Deidara said.
"She is a fucking beauty though," Hidan commented with a smirk.
Itachi's blood boiled when Hidan spoke his mind. Even though she hates him, he still feels the need to protect her.
"Tobi wants to see pretty lady!" Tobi shouted making everyone cringe.
"No you can't see her," Deidara shouted grabbing Tobi by his shirt bringing him back into the room.
"Why can't Tobi see pretty lady?"
"Because she doesn't want to see us right now and is injured!" He yelled at the childish Akatsuki member.
"Tobi thinks that's a good reason to see her!"
"No, she wants to be left alone."
"Tobi wants to see her!" He whined.
Sighing Deidara let him go knowing that he wouldn't listen anyway.
"What do you think he's going to do?" Deidara said sighing once more.
"Probably annoy her but he might get sent through a wall." Sasori answered.
"True, she doesn't look like she's in the mood for his antics."
Itachi, getting annoyed of the conversation, got up and left the room. Once he was gone the others looked at one another then back to where Itachi left.
"Did you notice the way she looked at Itachi? She looked pissed off." Hidan pointed out.
"Yeah they didn't even make eye contact and did you feel the tension?" Deidara agreed.
"They seem to know each other since he knew something about her." Kisame said.
"Maybe they were teammates? Itachi was an ANBU and so is she.....they look about the same age."
"Won't you three drop it? It's none of our business anyway." Kakazu said annoyed.
"Come on Kakazu, aren't you curious about this?" Hidan asked.
"I don't care about them. I could care less about the girl but there seemed something off about her."
"What was it?"
"Her chakra seemed different from a normal shinobi. You either have good chakra or evil chakra but she seemed to have both. Her aura was strange also. It seemed like she was weak and innocent but if you concentrate on it then you'll feel that she is very powerful like she's hiding something."
"I did sense that........it did seem odd. It probably has something to do with Orochimaru's experiments. According to Konan she was severely injured and lacking food and water. Whatever it was Orochimaru put in her.........it did something to her. We'll most likely find out soon when she has to fight one of us." Sasori said.
Back with Izuka, she was laying on her new bed feeling aggravated at her situation. Everything has gone downhill in her life. She'll never have a peaceful life as long as she is a shinobi.......now that she's away from the village and all of her friends there is no one to help her through her troubles. There's no one to help her when she has the nightmares of past traumatizing missions, no one to tell her it's going to be okay, no one to help her with her depression...she has no one now.
She is utterly alone in this world now..........Now she has to deal with the man who started these problems and probably has to deal with him until one of them dies. She has to live here against her will with S-ranked criminals who she would've killed as one of her missions as an ANBU captain. She turned onto her side only to feel pain once again shooting throughout her body. She still hasn't fully healed from the experiments and her chakra is slowly returning.
She just wanted to stay in her room for the rest of her life instead of going back out there risking seeing Itachi again. It took her everything she had not to attack Itachi when she saw him in the living room. Obviously he didn't tell anyone who she really was since they didn't react to her. All the other members were ones that were on her hit list. Even though she was only with them for a few minutes she could tell that they were still human. Many people believe that once you're a rouge ninja you have no feelings and get pleasure of killing. Izuka could tell that they still have emotions and act like any other human.
Even though she wanted to escape this place she knew that she couldn't. It's either escape and have the Leaf village destroyed while getting killed in the process from Danzo or stay here with the man she wants to kill along with S-ranked criminals. She heavily sighed turning onto her stomach with her face in the pillow.
She looked at the clock seeing that it was only ten in the morning. Izuka started to get tired and yawned. She still has the same sleep cycle that she had at Orochimaru's hideout. Slowly she fell into a deep slumber.
