* Chapter 4: *
Spring break.
Two words.
Two syllables.
Eleven letters.
Spring break is every high school kids dream. You basically have a whole week to do whatever you want on vacation. I love spring break as much as the next kid does.
But when your family and your mates family are going to Hawaii together, it's just a disaster waiting to happen. Am I right?
Or am I right?
"Athena Kay Williams! If you are not packed by the time we are ready to leave, so help me." My mom yelled from downstairs. I don't know why she needed to yell, I mean, I do have werewolf hearing.
Just then, my best friend barged in my room with a bag of newly purchased clothes.
"So, I went last minute shopping for you, and I picked out so many cute outfits that will have Colton wanting to jump your bones every single second of the day." I groaned and picked up the bags. I inspected every single piece of clothing items she bought. She was right, these were cute.
I took all of the clothes out of the bags, and folded them neatly and put them in my suitcase. I had everything I needed in it. "You sure you can't come with me?" I asked as my mom yelled my name, telling me it was time to go to the airport.
She shook her head, sadly. "Sorry baby cakes, no can do. But, I will miss you the whole entire week you are gone!" She engulfed me into a bone crushing hug. Now I could hear my dad yelling at me to hurry up.
"Well, that's my cue." I smiled sadly. I didn't want to leave her. We always went on vacations together. This would be the first time I would go without her. "I'll call you every day and let you know what happens." She nodded her head and handed me my North Face backpack that I'm carrying on the plane. I rolled my suitcase down the stairs and gave Marie one last hug as I walked out the door.
I put my suitcase in the back of the car and got in the back seat. "Are you excited! I can't wait for you to see Colton again, it's been ages since you two kids interacted." My mother chirped happily.
Yeah, my mom really doesn't know about Colton and I being mates. I've been ignoring him in school ever since the mall a week ago. He's constantly been trying to get me alone with him. Trying to bribe teachers to get me into detention with him, or trying to trick me by getting in a classroom alone with him. One day, he tried having his teammates kidnap me.
The poor boy must need some Athena time...
I mean who wouldn't want to have some time with this sexy beast. No pun intended
I put my headphones in my ears and turned on the song Shower by Becky G. It's a really catchy song no matter how repetitive it is. Plus, I usually picture Cameron Dallas dancing to this song, which is really weird...
But hey, a fan-girls gotta do, what a fan-girls gotta do.
The ride to the airport was uneventful and boring, if you ask me. We finally got there 45 minutes later. My mom wants to be 'normal people' who take the planes that aren't private. Even after my dads arguing that it would be safer, she still wouldn't give up so plane full of humans, here we come.
We met the Peterson's at the gate where our plane would be arriving and departing. "Mom, I'm going to go find some edible food because I know the plane will only have pretzels." I got out of my seat and grabbed my backpack and put it on.
"Here wait sweetie, take Colton with you. So you'll be safe." Dad chimed in. I mentally groaned. See, my father knows were mates because his father and mine are the besties for the resties. Yeah, I don't get it either.
Colton smirked and got up and walked over to me. "Hello baby girl. We meet again." He whispered in my ear and wrapped his arm around my shoulders. I groaned and walked away and heard my parents laughing at my action.
The thing about Colton is that my parents absolutely adore him. No matter what. Not even after the accident. They have always seen him as their second son. There was a time when Gabe and Colton used to be the best of friends until May 16th, 2013. The horrible tragedy that tore both of our families apart. After that day, Gabe has despised Colton to this day.
I could feel human eyes staring at me. I looked down at my plane apparel. A Pittsburgh Penguins hockey shirt with Sidney Crosby's name and number on the back with tight white short shorts. I also had my hair curled a little bit and gold gladiator sandals on.
All of the looks made me uncomfortable and Colton must have noticed that because he wrapped his arm around my waist.
"Thank you." I looked up at him. His height towering over me.
He smiled at me genuinely. It wasn't a forced smile. It was a sincere smile that was full of happiness and love. "Anything for my baby girl."
My whole body shivers when he calls me that or just barely touches me. I don't know but it makes my wolf want to mate with him really badly. He just has this effect on me that drives me insane. I haven't had any boyfriends before I met Colton so I wouldn't know if this happens every time a guy that you like touches you. But I'm guessing it doesn't.
We kept walking until finally we found a Taco Bell.

"I can't believe you like this crap." Colton cringed as we walked to where you order your heavenly food.
I gasped at him. "How dare you. You do not talk about my baby like that." I poked him in the chest and gave him the stink eye.
"Well, helloooo there. What would you like on this fine day?" A girl who looked about 16 asked Colton while twirling her hair. She bent down so she showed a lot of cleavage.
He looked so uncomfortable watching that girl flirt with him. I was really holding myself back from slapping her in the face. Who does she think she is? Can't she obviously see I'm right here?
I hope that bitch steps on a Lego.
"Well, baby girl what do you want?" He looked at me and the girl behind the counter glared at me. What the hell? What did I do to her.
She needs Jesus.
"I want you," I pointed to her name tag, "Amber, to stop flirting with my boyfriend. Okay? Okay." I smiled at her sweetly.
"Oh, and I want two cool ranch Doritos locos tacos and a baja blast freeze." She nodded and Colton smiled at her and said thank you.
Why does he have to be nice around humans and not to me?
I went over to the pick up line and waited for my delicious food. Colton leaves me waiting for my food, while he goes off to Subway to get healthy food. Ewe, healthy food.
Who eats that now-a-days?
No one, that's who.
Personally, the only good thing about subway is their cookies. I mean come on, who doesn't love subways cookies? They're so big and delicious. I don't know how they make them but it's like heaven in my mouth.
"Order number 34, your order is ready." A guy comes out from the back with a bag full of food. My food.
"That's me." I smile. I'm gonna finally eat what I have been craving for the last month. Doritos tacos.
The guy gives me my food smiles and starts up a conversation with me. "Hi! My names Jackson. Who would you be?"
"Why hello there, Jackson, I'm Athena." I smell my wonderful food and my mouth starts watering.
Okay Athena, wrap up this conversation so you can eat your tacos.
"Are you here with anyone, or is it just you?" I shake my head.
As soon as I was about to respond, Colton came up and wrapped his arm around me. Sparks shot up my spine. I could never get used to that feeling. He makes me feel like a firework engulfing in flames.
Wow, that was a horrible example.
"Actually, she's here with me and were going on our honeymoon." Wait, hold up.
Honeymoon?
He didn't even put a ring on it yet.
He needs to listen to Beyoncé, she'll tell you to put a ring on it if you like it.
The taco guy is just shocked. I mean, I would be too.
Imagine a seventeen year old and an eighteen year old going on their honeymoon. Like what? No, there will be no baby making on this honeymoon I can tell you that.
"Uh... Well, you two kids have a jolly good honeymoon..." The worker guy backed away slowly and Colton started bursting out laughing when I just glared at him.
He immediately stopped laughing and gave me a questioning look. "What, it was hilarious you gotta admit."
"You just can't do that to humans! They don't know any better Colton," I shook my head and punched his bicep. "But I gotta admit it was pretty funny." I cracked a smile.
We erupted in laughter while walking around in the food court, searching for a place to sit and eat. "You are really beautiful when you smile, you know." Colton sincerely smiled.
My heart warmed up at the comment.
I grabbed my cool ranch tacos and started munching on them when I felt Colton staring at me. I lifted up my head and looked at him with a straight face.
He quickly put his head back down and I smirked, a plan forming in my head.
I reached over and touched his arm. His head shot up and I made eye contact with his beautiful bright blue eyes. His eyes were like Nash Grier's. So intimidating, but yet so adorable. Like you could just stare into them for centuries and never get used to it.
"Athena."
Tap tap. "Athena."
You just couldn't imagine how lucky I was to have Colton to be my mate. I admit, I did hate him, but now, I'm completely falling for him.
"Hello? anyone in there?" A hand was waved in my face.
"ATHENA." I shook myself out of my daze.
"What do you want?" I took a long sip of my baja blast. I felt a powerful stinging in my head.
Brain freeze.
Natures beautiful curse.
I want to be with Colton. I want Colton to mark me as his. But it won't happen until he apologizes. He ruined my life, my family was torn apart. But at the same time, I want to apologize to him for what happened. I know he didn't do it on purpose. It was just an accident. They were at the wrong place at the wrong time.
As if Colton is reading my mind, he put his hands on my cheeks and stares at me intently. "Look baby girl, I know we had a rough couple of years. I just wanted to say I'm sorry for what happened. I know you still think it was my fault but it really wasn't. We were just in the wrong place at the wrong time,"
He raises his hand and wipes off the tears on my cheek and continues, "All I really want in my life is you, you and our future pups. I don't know how I would survive with you ignoring me still. Athena, you are my life, my soul, and my happiness. You made me who I am today."
By the end of his speech I am crying. His words were so sweet. I honestly don't know what I'd do without him either. I would be very lonely and depressed. Before I started talking to Colton again, Marie was really my only friend. I mean, of course I had other friends, but they were those fake plastic Barbies that just pretend to be your friend because you have money.
"Colton, I-" I didn't get to finish my sentence before he started getting closer and it put me in a trance. This is it, our first kiss as being mates. My first kiss.
I know what you're probably thinking, oh she's stupid cause she's 17 and hasn't even had her first kiss yet. What a loser.
But that doesn't matter to me. I grew up as a little girl who was waiting to find her mate. I promised myself I'd save everything for my future mate. My first kiss, my virginity, my first boyfriend and so on. I wanted it to be special. I know it is now, because my mate is sitting right in front of me.
Our lips almost touched before we got interrupted by someone clearing their throat. "Hmhmm." My mother stood above us. She was tapping her foot with her arms crossed.
"Perfect timing." Colton groaned and broke away from me and looked at my mother.
"Oh heyyyy mom." I stood up and she was staring at me.
"Care to explain what was about to happen? I thought you were going to stay pure for your mate. I mean, I wouldn't mind if you kissed Colton because look at him, he's very attractive."
"Mom!"
"But I thought you would never even think about touching him after your brother," I was starting to get annoyed.
"MOM!"
"What? Was I rambling again? My, oh my. I didn't mean to. But the real question is, why were you and apparent lover boy a millimeter away from lip locking."
I looked over to Colton and at that moment, I wish he marked me so we could mind link. In this situation, I'm really desperate.
"Mrs. Williams, there's something we need to tell you."
My mom just nodded her head, meaning for him to go on. "Uh, how do I put this," He scratched the back of his neck.
"Oh my Lord Colton, just spit it out already. Mom you might want to sit down and remember, we are in public." I ushered her towards a chair. Knowing my mom, she will freak out about my childhood best friend being my mate.
I can see the headlines now, Mary Williams Passes Out in Airport From Excitement.
"Mrs. Williams, Athena is my mate." And at that sentence all hell broke loose.
My mom went berserk. She did not get the hint that we are in public and there are people around that are staring.
"I just can't believe you two are mates! Your parents and I made a bet on when you two would get together or be mates! AND GUESS WHO WON! ME! Boo yah! Cash money for me!" Then it got even more worse.
"You two are great, you know that. You guys won me $50." I shook my head and walked to Colton, who was laughing his head off.
"You know you're not helping at all." I elbowed him in the stomach. Nothing but rock hard abs.
He just wrapped his arm around me and smirked, "Oh Athena, you know you love me."
"No, not really. Don't get over your head macho man. You still owe me for what you did."
"Oh really? Well, let me make it up to you on the plane and in Hawaii." I put my head on his shoulder. It just felt right and the moment. If I'm being completely honest, I want it to last forever.
* * *
"Flight 253, direct flight to Honolulu, Hawaii. You're plane is now ready to board." We all got up and headed toward the entrance to the plane. I gave my ticket to the lady to scan and headed off towards the plane entrance.
I walked through the isles and had a bunch of already boarded people stare at me. I looked back at Colton and he got the hint. He walked in front of me and held my hand.
"Thank you again." I whispered.
"You owe me by sitting next to me on this plane and letting me take you out on a date when were in Hawaii."
"And what makes you think I'd agree to that?" I smirked and walked past him and swayed my hips.
All of a sudden I felt a stinging pain in my butt. "You did not just slap my butt." I turned around and stopped him.
"Oh baby, but I did. I couldn't help myself, you were walking like that and I just couldn't help myself." He smirked. "I think that's our seat," He turned and went to the window seat.
I shook my head, "No, no, no, no, if I'm sitting with you, I get the window seat," He groaned and got up and moved to the other seat.
"I am not moving past you to get to my seat. There's not even room for me to get to the seat."
"Oh well, looks like no window seat for you..." He sympathetically said. I groaned and made sure to put my butt to the back of the seat in front of us so it wouldn't be weird. I tripped over my own feet and landed on Colton's lap.
"Oh my gosh, I'm sorry." I tried to get up but he held me down.
"No, I just want to live for this moment." He moved a piece of hair out of my face and tucked it behind my ear.
"See, I told you guys they were falling hopelessly in love." We both looked up and saw our parents gushing over our position.
"Eeek! You guys are so cute! I just don't want any grand babies being made during this trip, you hear me?" Colton's mom sternly told.
I groaned. This vacation will be the death of me. "Mom, can you go sit in first class where you belong?" I got off Colton's lap and moved to my own seat.
"Fine, fine. Come on dear, lets go and give the kids some privacy." All of the parents went up to first class while we are stuck in coach. It's nice to have time with Colton without our parents always being there though.
We started taking off and Colton put up the arm of the chair so there would be more room. He put his arm around me and I leaned into him. I started falling asleep until I heard him say something.
"Goodnight, baby girl. Sweet dreams." And then I drifted off into a deep sleep.

Hey chicos, I went to the one direction concert and I'm proud cause Niall told me he loved me. I know, be jelly.
This is kind of a filler chapter but ya know it'll get better soon.
And its exactly 3,200 words!!!!
