Adithi's POV-
"Adithi? Adithi?"
Shubman shook me.
"Yeah?"
"We're called inside." He informed. All I did was nod and walk inside the room.
I changed into the hospital's clothes but before going inside to abort my baby, I walked to where Shubman was standing.
I wasn't really sure of this to be honest. During our check-up the doctor told me that the chances of me getting pregnant again is very less. Even if I do get pregnant again, that would be my last one.
"Promise me one thing." I said, looking at him.
"What?" He cupped my face.
"If, any time in the future, you have to choose between me and our child, you'd choose our child over me."
"Adithi-"
"No, Shub. Promise me, please."
"Adithi, I can't."
"Then even I can't abort this child." I stated.
"Adithi." He sighed.
"I promise." He said.
He kissed my forehead before letting me walk inside.

I cried. I cried and cried. I cried more by the passing of each second.
I just killed my baby. Screaming, I clutched my stomach.
Shub came inside my room and hugged me tightly.
"Ahhhhh!" I cried in his arms.
"Shh..." He rubbed my back.
"You're strong." He whispered.
I shook my head, as if saying no. I cried with whatever I had in me and just let my emotions flow. Shub held me tightly.
I can't believe I just killed my baby.
WHY?
I pulled my hair and cried even more.
I FUCKIN' KILLED MY BABY!
"Adithi......" Shub kissed my forehead.
"You have to be strong. Come on." He said looking into my eyes.

~2 months later~
"So, ladies and gentlemen, this wouldn't be a great success without one person. She's been the backbone of this show, more than I was. Introducing to you all, the upcoming fashion designer, Adithi Rai!" Manish sir announced in the mic.
What?
Do I have to walk on the ramp now?
Manish sir walked to me and put his hand forward for me to take it. I took his hand and we walked on the ramp.
There was a round of applause.
"Leaving three designs to be precise, all the other designs were Adithi's. She, everyone, will surely be the leading fashion designer in India, one day." Manish sir spoke into the mic.
I had a huge grin on my face, while others clapped.
-Later that night-
"..... and then everyone clapped." I narrated the story to Shubman
"So, my babydoll is very happy?" He asked.
I hummed to his question.
"Adithi...." He sighed.
"I'm fine. Chill."
"You still miss her, don't you?" He asked me.
"Any mother would miss her daughter." I answered.
Yes, our child was a girl.
"Come on, it's been 2 months-"
"I know, Shub. But it's not easy for me." I interrupted.
"I know it isn't easy but you have to forget it, yeah?" He asked.
I didn't answer. And, I didn't feel the need to answer. I can never forget my unborn child.
"Anyway, you had dinner?" He changed the topic.
"No, yet to. You?"
"No, we're still practicing." He answered.
"Oh."
We stayed silent. None of us spoke for another five minutes.
"I- I'll go eat something. Bye." I said.
"Yeah, bye. I love you."
"Me too." So saying, I hung up.
Shubman's POV-
"Me too." So saying, she hung up.
Adithi has changed after the abortion. I don't blame her. I know she needs some time to get over it.
She's never told me she loves me or been herself after the abortion. Whenever I say 'I love you', all she says is 'me too'.
I know what I did wasn't right but from the point of view of our careers, it was the best thing to do.
I don't know whether Adithi will ever forgive me for that or no, but all I know is, I love her. I love her so fucking much. I can't even imagine my future without her being in it. It's always been her and it'll always be her.
She's my oxygen and I'd never let her get away from me.
