"I will kill you!" A loud, animalistic growl rumbles in my chest as I let out a loud screech. I clenched my fists tightly together as my nails dug into my skin, drawing blood but that was the least of my problems.
She laughs angering me even more as I attempt to break from the shackles which in the end made them burn through my wrists and onto my flesh. I cry out loud slamming my head against the metal. "Quite hard to do that when you're both in pain and chained up. I wonder what would happen if I add a little bit more of the serum...?" My eyes widen as wiggle around trying to escape from this confined Hell.
She jabbed the needle into the side of my neck as I whimper, my bones continue to snap in half leaving me with no strength to even scream. My hair clung onto my skin that was drowned with my own blood and sweat, my bones were all mangled up, hair was sprouting from my body and my skin felt like it was lit on fire.
If I truly was my old self, I would've given up at the time the cub board fell on me in the storage closet, but there was a tugging in my heart- stronger than my courage to give up- to stay alive, and not give in to her hands. Because that's not what Haze would want me to do, or Danny, or Mark, or Kat, or Ariya, and most of all. Archer would never want me to surrender to the hands that are tainted with his blood, if I know him well enough he would've gave me a smack on the back of my head for looking so pitiful, and then he would give me an hour long lecture about being so reckless enough to leave my guard down and get kidnapped when he knows I'm stronger than that.
I am stronger than that.
I will get through this shift and turn into something that was hidden within me this whole entire time, and I would never let Nicole see the satisfaction of me being in pain. Archer wouldn't want that, he was in the same position as me once upon a time. And what I admired about him the most was that whatever he endured, his spirit was so strong that no hands could ever break it.
I let out a croaky laugh releasing the tension on my body as I let the pain seep in, I bit my tongue from letting out another scream as my face contorted into a smile making Nicole knot her eyebrows in confusion. "I may be chained up now, and I may not be able to physically harm you, but once I escape. You better pray that you've given your beloved Rido a goodbye kiss because once I get my hands on you, you will never see him again. I guess I'm doing you a favour by reuniting you with your sister because I'm not going to give you the honour of ending my life."
I smirk when I noticed she was getting riled up my words as she grabbed the knife from the trolley and pierced in through my stomach. I strained myself from letting out another scream as she twisted the knife around in circle, sending a wave of flames to ignite in my stomach. "What? Too much of a wimp to use your hands?" I snort.
She let out a raged cry swinging her fist at my jaw as my head flew to the side, scraping against the rope that further dug in to my skin. I don't know whether it was because of the amount of pain I was feeling at the same time that my body became numb to the scourge or that her punch was as a light as a feather.
"Wow, how did you know I was ticklish?" She replied by swiping the knife down my shoulder wrenching it in deeper as I coughed out a mouthful of blood.
I smirk "Going soft are we?" The ache in my jaws and gum burned fiercely, and I couldn't help but let out a grow that even made me frightened. Nicole backed away, fear replacing the smugness she had on a few minutes ago. I felt a surge of cogency and tribulation rush through my veins as immense power hasten onto my eyes.
"I-It can't be, how is this even p-possible? I h-have to get out of here." She backed away from me slowly before opening the door that let in a stream of light for a few seconds as she closed my chance of escaping.
If I thought the pain earlier was worse, the torture multiplied as sharp canines elongated from my gums digging into my tongue fas it wedged my mouth open, the ropes and cuffs around my arms and legs all burst into dust as I rolled of the bed. The itching sensation accumulated as I scratched my body, as if my skin portrayed as an extra layer of clothing. I surprised myself by letting out a loud howl, it was the enhanced hearing that appeared out of nowhere allowing me to catch the faint howls in the distance and the sound of a flock of birds flying the opposite direction.
"Oh hell-" I growl deeply again preparing to endure another wave of pain that was surfacing.
Third Person's POV
Callie sighed in relief when she caught sight of her pack members, she rushed up to them with her back straight and head up signifying her prominent rank as a Beta. The wolves bowed respectively before baring their canines at the Pureblood, Aristocrat and Level-C vampire situated behind her who just escaped from being bombarded by dozens of Level-Es that they took down easily.
"Stand down and shift." She ordered as they let out a warning growl, taking a step back in submission before walking behind the trees shifting into their human forms and putting on the clothes they carried with them. Though nudity was not a problem for them, they preferred to not be naked in front of a bunch of vampires.
Two males wearing shorts and a female who wore an oversized shirt walked out deathly glaring at the vampires. The female bowed in regard. "It's nice to see you again Beta Ace. We were able to find a firm scent of the Alpha towards the waterfall nearby, located in an abandoned hut, there was also another scent of a human identified exiting the hut. I already sent Malachi and Leona to capture the human. We are now waiting for your orders Ma'am." Callie nods before a loud howl filled the air making everyone's eyes widen.
Callie turned her towards the direction the howl came from not believing her ears. "She's transitioning." She clenched and unclenched her fists when she felt the power return back to her body, her wolf now reappearing into her mind.
"Lia, what happened to you?" Callie asked, relieved that her wolf was okay.
"Well, being the fatass you are you just had to eat that slice of pizza that contained an anti-wolf forum that prevents one from shifting from a long period of time. Luckily, bearing in mind that the Alpha is shifting, her power and presence simply gave me back my strength so I could break free from the cage I was trapped in. No thanks to you." She snorts huffing.
Callie pouts. "Sorry... I was hungry."
"Yeah, whatever." She scoffs. "Now, listen to me closely. The vampire blood is Milady's body is causing a turmoil in her system which is engendering the shift to be ten times more painful as both pedigrees are fighting for dominance. Adding to the fact that she hasn't found her mate or that he isn't adjacent, you out of everyone should know how painful it is to endure that kind of shift." Callie looked down with a dejected frown. "The type of pain that she is feeling right now, is even more painful than death itself. If she doesn't have someone with her or if her will to live isn't that strong, there is no guarantee that she's going to live or that her wolf might obliterate any sense of humanity and become rogue." Callie gulps before her face became serious.
"We have no time to waste, we need to make it to the hut now." Callie shifted into her wolf, which was impressively big for a beta. No doubt that she was proud of her sandy, brown coloured wolf that stood out to most wolves. But she knew that her Alpha was soon going to be the centre of attention.
Zero followed them intent on saving the girl that he had grown to like, Ruka looked at Kaname waiting for his orders.
"I'll be back. Go follow them." Ruka glances at him hesitantly before meekly nodding running after them.
Callie shifted back into her human form putting on the shirt that Mina, the female-werewolf handed to her. She took a deep breath before yanking the door open with her strength horrified by the sight in front of her. The air was stuck in her throat as she took a step forward, only to be stopped by a growl that sent fear down her spine, sweat glided down her forehead as she took another step forward crouching down.
"Milady?" She growled louder and it took Callie all her will power not to flinch.
"Alpha, please. It's me... Callie. Remember me?" She spoke softly reaching her hand out shakily.
She heard a shuffling sound and a few grunts of pain. "C-Callie, y-you n-need t-to get-" Callie jumped up when she heard Elvia released a painful scream as a few cracks resonated throughout the room.
Callie glanced at the two werewolves who's face were stricken with horror as they bowed their heads down in sorrow. "We're not going anywhere, we're going to help you get through this. I know it's painful, and I know that neither of us can relate what you're going through. But we do know how it feels when it feels like you have no idea who you truly are, but this... is what you are. It's not always going to be this painful, you just need to fight it. I know you can, we believe in you as a friend, and our Alpha." Callie stared intently at the bright golden eyes that shone in the darkness.
"I-It hurts s-so much Cal, i-it feels like m-my whole b-body's on f-fire." She whimpers letting out a screech when her spine bent backwards forming into a hunchback.
Zero entered the room his eyes widening at the sight, his eyes glossed when he caught the sight of the girl he tried ignoring. He was mesmerised by her blood the first time he saw her, which is why he was acting repulsive so she wouldn't end up getting close to him. But he couldn't help but be fascinated by her straightforwardness and her disrespectfulness to anyone and everyone, it drew him closer towards her and he found himself wanting to taste the blood running through her veins even more. He didn't know if his feelings was based by the desire for blood or if they were completely profound, all he knew was that he had to keep her safe.
"W-What's happening to her?" He stutters in shock.
"She's having her first shift, and a werewolf's first shift is always the most painful. But since Milady is different, her shift happens to be the more excruciating than any other average Alphas." Callie said sternly.
After a few a minutes that passed by like hundreds of hours, the loudest snap made Elvia let out a scream of horror, but this time it was different. The bones on her hands and feet conformed into paw like structures, her back raised up and sprouted fur that was of the finest albino. A narrow snout and pearly white canines replaced her feminine features with corporeal ones, her ruby likes eyes altered to resemble a sunrise in a light blue sky and her six foot figure towered over any other standard werewolf or Alpha which would make her feared by most, and adored by others.
Callie and the two others gasped in awe whilst Zero stood struck to his spot, taking time to comprehend the situation.
Callie smiles bowing. "You did it..." she whispers.
"Something feels wrong..." Her wolf; Lia, murmurs analysing the contingency before her eyes when caught a whiff of the red convulsion outlining her golden orbs.
"Callie step back. Now!" Lia warns knowing that if she didn't leave now, her and her pack members along with the two vampires would surely become a pile of chewed dog bones.
"What, why?" She said alarmed.
"It's not her who's in control, it's her wolf. And I fear that her wolf would never let her gain restraint. The scent of her wolf is like no other, it's deadly. Too dangerous for any one of us to handle, if we don't leave now we're dead." They all took a step back when Elvia stood up, her form towering over everyone in ascendancy before slowly stalking towards Callie who stood up tall, despite her legs wobbling terribly in consternation.
The white wolf heaved stepping forward, nearing the frightened girl who stared at her with wide eyes, her ears elongated attentively listening out for any sound of movement that could be deemed as a threat, her nose poked up high letting all the different scents dawdle into it's senses, and two particular scents caught her attention. She let a deep, warning growl as her golden, red coated eyes travelled towards the silver haired boy and the girl standing behind him in repugnance. They smelt of a mixture of rotten mould and burnt flesh which immediately made her eager to distinguish the foul smell.
She snarled berserkly charging towards the two vampires letting a loud war cry, she had her jaws wide and her teeth sharp ready to dig into their flesh when she was suddenly tackled to the side as she flew onto the wall that fulminated into tiny, pieces of wood flying all over the ground.
Her eyes narrowed when she crashed onto a tree whining, reacting by standing up tall in anger, growling at the sandy-brown wolf who challenged her premier position. Her paws padded harshly against the forest grounds, travelling at a swift pace faster than lightening which caught the female wolf off guard as she dug in viciously, penetrating her serrated teeth into the brown fur and tearing off a huge chunk of meat from the wolf as the lower ranked Beta howled in pain baring it's neck in capitulation.
But that did not suffice for the wild, blood thirsty Alpha as she lunged again at the wolf wanting to satisfy her hunger for the sight of blood, she bit another portion of it's neck swinging the wolf against the tree and in the crossfire ended up wrenching another lump of flesh from the wolf as it let out a pained whine resting on the floor with no energy to stand up with two portions of flesh missing.
Callie shifted back in her human form letting out a cry at the immense pain the shift caused her and the momentous injuries afflicting her body which could cost her her life. Her sight was flashing between black and white as she let out a shaky breath trying to manoeuvre her body. She whimpered with tears streaming down her cheeks, staring hazily at her Alpha who let out raged howl as she disappeared within the trees.
"Lia...?" She snivelled calling out to her wolf.
More tears streamed down her cheeks when she heard no response, everyone finally got out of their shocked states and rushed towards Callie.
"B-Beta?" Mina whispered placing Callie's head onto her lap. "W-Why? Why did you risk your life to save those vampires?" A tear slipped down her face and onto Callie's soaked cheeks.
Callie tried smiling but it pained her too much to do so. "I-I'm t-tired of l-living a l-life filled w-with b-bloodshed, s-saving them m-makes me f-feel like I'm o-one step closer in e-ending t-this war." Her hands fell limp making Mina's eyes widen.
"B-Beta?" She shook her head finding no response. "Callie?"
"No!"
