Ganesha Pooja:
pooja= Hindu prayer ritualmandap = altar
pandit = priest
murtis = embodiment or solid object (statue) that refers to a deity in Indian culture
Diwali = festival of lights
Navratri = nine night festival for Hindus that honors the Goddess Durga's battle
dupatta = scarf that comes with Indian clothes
Mendhi:
menhdi (event) = defined at the beginning of the chapter
mendhi (object) = henna, made from henna leaves and applied to hair, skin, etc as a dye.
dupatta = scarf that comes with Indian clotheschanya (choli) = a two part Indian dress that is separated so the waist is expose – see polyvore account for visuals.
