Maybe you'll hear the pieces
as they fall on to the ground
like sand slipping through fingers.
Maybe you'll even hear
A cry for help
And maybe you'll want to
run to the sound.
But maybe you'll realise
That the broken pieces
Were calling for
the one who
Broke them in the first place.
And maybe it'll shake you
To your very soul
To think of how
these little things behind our chests
Were designed to
