With the horrors that my birth has brought,
Come also new blemishes that leave my soul marked,
And though I try, to thaw my cold veins,
Nothing ever seems to melt or fade away.
Encumbered by blistering memories, that lie in my wake,
That eat me whole, and leave me railed,
I've come to realise that battling won't last,
I'm a cauterized soul, ferocious, callous, they're all facades.
And yet, in my ellipse of darkness and tenebrosity,
None shall be my armor among times of adversity.
Mastering the art of despairing, then leaving desolate,
I've become but a creature, everyone learns to execrate.
Tethered by the epithets of everyone around me,
I cannot come to free myself, or be in peace.
