Avery's POV
Just as we were at the exit is when I remembered something.
"Wait a minute. I need to go get something." I left Ace with Starchild.
"What? Avery!" I ran back to the way we came and snuck past an unconscious Gabriel to the room Cat found me in. I looked around and found Chikara's book and a bag to put it in. I put it on my shoulder and ran back to the rest.
"What was so important?" Demon growled. I breathed deeply.
"I'll show you later. Let's go." We got outside and Demon came over to me, picked me up, and took off. Cat did the same to Thorn and Starchild was Ace. We flew for a bit and finally landed back in the park. Ace was taken to the infirmary. We all waited as he was treated. No one said anything but there was an elephant in the room.
"He will be fine." The park doctor came out with Ace in tow. We all went back to the green room.
"Do you want to explain why you risked everything running back toward him?" Demon growled out the question.
"Demon, calm down." Starchild called.
"But..." He stopped to breath. "Okay, okay. I'm calm."
"Avery. What was so important you had to go back?" Ace asked me softly.
"Well, I found something while I was under with hold." I took the bag from my shoulder. I pulled out the book and laid it on the table.
"Chikara's book!" They said.
"Where did you find this?" Cat asked.
"The first room he had me in had a lot of the missing stuff from the park in it. I had got loose but was distracted when I saw this. It opened on it's own to me to this page." I opened it and found Gabriel's page. I set it down on the table again. "I just thought it would help." I went to the other side of the room and sat down.
"It opened to both of them." Cat said.
"The book, old guitar picks from us three, and an old pair of your drum sticks and other things. What does he need all of those for?" I heard Star say.
"Nothing good mot likely." Demon grumbled. I moved my feet up onto the couch and curled into the back. They continued to talk as I wondered and let my mind think about the things that were taken.
"What is it about those items?" I whispered out loud. I must have dozed off because I was startled awake by Catman picking me up and carrying me.
"Shh. You're okay. It's only me." He said. I looked over and saw Ace walking next to him. "He's not allowed to do much with his injury." He got a silent glare from Ace. I giggled.
"Where are we going?"
"My dressing room." Ace said. We made it there and Ace opened the door. We entered and Ace went to another door I never noticed before.
"That wasn't there before." I said out loud. They both laughed and I blushed. Behind the door was a bedroom. Cat set me down on the couch and went to leave. "I could have walked!" He just shrugged and left.
"Here Avery." I saw Ace handing me some clothes. I gave him confused look. "To sleep in."
"Oh. Okay." I blushed again. He showed me the bathroom. After I closed the door, I stood for a second in silence. I then put the clothes down and turned the shower on. I let the water run over my tense muscles. After I was clean, I got out and got dresses.
"Feel better?" Ace asked as I walked out. I nodded as I used the towel on my soaked hair. He had also changed into sleep clothes.
"How are you feeling?" I stood in front of him in the shirt he gave me.
"Better. I'll be fine by morning." He looked me up and down. "You look hot in my clothes." He set his hand on my hip. He looked up at me with a sly smile. He pulled the towel from my shoulders.
"Ace?" He said nothing. He grabbed my hand and kissed it. He kissed up the back of my hand and to my wrist. He stopped and looked up at me again.
"Come here." He pulled my arm, pulling me into his lap. I made a surprises noise as he did. He held me in his lap and just looked into my eyes. He smiled then moved forward to gently press his lips to mine.
"Mmm." I made a noise as our lips touched. The kiss started to turn more and more heated. I felt his tongue brush my lips. I didn't let him in. He pulled away and smirked at me. Suddenly, he flipped over and I was laying on my back underneath him.
"Tease." He said as he kissed me again. He took my leg and hiked it around his waist. I gasped and he immediately shot his tongue in. He won dominance immediately. One of his arms was next to my head, keeping himself up. His other hand was on my hip. I pulled away to breath and he moved to my neck.
"Ace." I moaned out. In response he lightly bit the skin on my collarbone. I made a small noise. He moved his hand up and under my shirt. I stilled for a second. He noticed and stopped his hand. I moved under him and he kept going. He moved up my neck and to my lips.
"Avery..." He said against my lips. I felt his hand move and grabbed my shirt. He started to pull it up. I pulled away.
"Wait!" He let go and sat up.
"Are you okay?" He was watching me intently. We were breathing heavy.
"Yes. I'm just...It's just." I paused. "Too fast." I looked away embarrassed.
"Avery?" Ace was still above me. I covered my red face.
"Oh my god." I was so embarrassed. "I'm sorry." I felt tears running down my cheeks. I moved out from under him and up against the head board. I was trying to choke back the sobs.
"Avery, hey, calm down. It's okay." He raised his hand and wiped the tears. "Don't cry. What's wrong?"
"It's just, I'm scared to get close to someone. I've never felt this way about someone before and it scares me. People who I get close to usually leave me."
"Avery. I'm not going anywhere. It's okay to be scared. I know this can be scary but I'm not leaving you anytime soon."
"How do you know? The future is uncertain, you could get tired of me and leave!"
"Avery." He made me look at him in the eyes. "I don't think that would be possible. I may be known as a womanizer but I've never felt like this before either." He pulled me into his arms.
"Really?"
''Yeah. I love you Avery." I gasped.
"I love you too." He smiled at me then gently kissed me. We laid down on the bed. We were in comfortable silence until he piped up.
"Avery you're never been alone. The gang has always been there. So has your Aunt and Thorn. Now, I will be here too." I smiled and cuddled closer to him. I didn't say anything but I didn't need too. I started to fall asleep as he pulled a blanket up and over us.
I was woken up quite early by a banging on the door. I sat up and felt an arm slide down my side. I looked at Ace and saw he was still zonked out. The knocking sounded again. I got up and went to the door. I opened it to see a frantic Starchild.
"What's up?" I rubbed the sleep from my eyes.
"Gabriel's been at it again. We need you and Ace to come to the security room. ASAP!" He rushed out.
"Okay, we'll be there right away." He turned and left the dressing room. I closed the door and ran to the bed. "Ace wake up." He didn't budge. I got on the bed and shook his shoulder. "Ace!"
"Hmm..." He groaned and cracked his eyes open. "What is it?" He muttered.
"Star was just here in a panic. " He shot up wide eyed.
"Why?"
"He told me Gabriel was at it again and needed us to go to the security room ASAP." He shot up and out of bed.
"Of course he has," He was running around the room, picking up things then running into the bathroom. There was a flash and he came out in the 'Hotter than Hell' costume. I sat on my knees on the bed in awe.
"That was fast." He smiled and went to leave. He turned back when I didn't move.
"Come on."
"Umm...As comfy as you clothes are I can't go out them." I admitted.
"Oh, umm." He looked around. "Just a second." He left the room for a few seconds and came back. "Here."
"Who's?" I trailed off.
"My sisters. They got into my bag somehow last time I was in New York." I nodded. I quickly ran into the bathroom and changed. I saw some mouth wash and rinsed my mouth. I ran out and Ace held out his hand. I grabbed it and we took off.
"Bout time." Demon grumbled as we entered the security room.
"Sorry, had to take care of something." Ace gave me a cheeky look. I blushed and looked away. I saw Thorn giving me a look. I let go of Ace and walked over to her.
"Anything juicy?" I rolled my eyes.
"No."
"Oh come on! Something had to happen." She whispered shouted. I looked over to see the guys were occupied.
"Okay, we kissed a little."
"A little? Then explain the bruise on your collarbone." She smirked.
"What?" My hand flew to the place.
"Haha, It's not that bad, here." She pulled out some make up and covered it for me. "There. No evidence."
"Thanks Thorn." I sat down and laid my head on my knees. I felt her sit down next to me. She rubbed my back slightly.
"This really sucks." I turned my head slightly to her. "I mean, dealing with this psychotic maniac. I don't know how you do it all the time. You and the gang." I moved up onto my elbows.
"Beats me. In our defense, most of the creeps we normally deal with are just men or woman in masks and costumes. We don't normally deal with the real thing to often."
"You did when we met, remember? The Witch's Ghost."
"Yeah, I remember." I glanced at the guys. They were talking around a near by table. "I can still hear her crazy laugh sometimes."
"Me too." We laughed out loud. Out of the corner of my eye, the computer flashed. I looked and saw a figure on the screen.
"Is that?" I got up and walked over to it. "Guys!" They all looked at me. "It's Gabriel."
"He's creeping again?" They came over.
"Not this time." Gabriel was standing in the middle of the courtyard. He turned toward the camera and he smirked.
"Next stop..." He waved his hand and a portal opened. "KISSteria." The sound of his voice rang through the speakers. So did his laugh. "Come and catch me if you can." He jumped through and disappeared.
"Great!" Demon groaned.
"We have to go after him!" Cat yelled. "Who knows what he is up too!"
"I do."
"What?" Spaceman looked at me.
"I do. Know what he's up too. He's going to get revenge on the people that wronged him. So to say." I took a breath. "In any way possible. That's why he took me."
"Because he is upset with me the most." Spaceman said softly.
"What are you talking about?" Demon put his hands on his hips in question.
"There is a portion of this whole situation that you guys don't know. Only me, Gabriel, and the elder council know." He seemed hesitant to continue. I went over and laid my hand on his shoulder. He looked at me and smiled small. "The Elder council didn't pick me as a protector. Not at first at least. They chose Gabriel but...he showed up and acted out of turn in front of them. So they changed their minds right in front of us and chose me. He was furious and blamed his mistake on me. He claims I stole the position from him." He looked down.
"Holy crap...how did no one else know?"
"No clue, Cat." Everyone was silent for a few minutes.
"That explains why he took Avery. He took her because he thinks you took his spot and he knows that you care for her a great deal." Demon concluded.
"You said he's getting revenge. But why did he take all the other stuff?"
"You don't see it?" I looked at them. "The drum sticks, the guitar picks. They're all connected to you. They all have your energy, your essence absorbed in them. They have a part of you."
"They all are a part of us in some way." Starchild concluded.
"They may not be a part of the final plan but it did get our attention. He got our attention and now he's going to use it to his advantage." Cat growled as he talked.
"Well he has it now. And he's going to regret it." Spaceman declared.
