"Told you so." I whisper to Endeavor as we stood beside each other in a large room filled with a lot of reporters, the judges were currently deciding on which one of us is going to take All Might's place as the Symbol of Peace "I just hope to god its not me."
"I hope its not either of us jackass." I glared down at him
"Don't use foul language, Endeavor. Don't want to ruin your image, do you?" he glared up at me before straightening his collar with a huff, I look over & saw All Might, I give him a small wave & he lightly smiled & waved back at me with his arm that wasn't in a sling. Before we were waiting for the final decision All Might, or rather Yagi Toshinori, gave a speech of his retirement
Of course... if he hadn't then why the fuck would we even be here?
"The Robotic Hero: Micro. Please step forward." & so I do while bowing my head "You are one of the most admirable Hero's throughout the entire country & also Norway, you have a kind heart & you are very polite despite your appearance. You think of others rather then yourself, your also remarkably strong & we need more heroes like you. But unfortunately, since you refuse to show us what you look like under the mask, we have some certain trust issues with you." I nodded my head
"That is very understandable, & I really do hope that I can gain more trust with the mask. I'd like to be one of those heroes that keeps their identity & life behind the mask a secret." with that I bow my head again & look back up at them, there was murmur among the judges & the people behind us, they then gestured for me to step back & I do
"The Flame Hero: Endeavor. Please step forward." I gave him a thumbs up & he nodded before walking up "You are also one of the most admirable Hero's throughout the country, your aggressive natures makes up for your talents & skills. You run an amazing Agency like Micro here, but unfortunately, your aggressive nature is whats pulling you back to being the No. 1 Hero. Even if you are the 2nd Ranked Hero you are not ready to be our Symbol of Peace." one of the judges gestures to me, which caused me to flinch
"Micro is more suited for the role as our Symbol of Peace." my eyes widened as cheers erupted throughout the entire room, I look over at All Might & see he gave me a thumbs up, I then look at Endeavor & see dread all over his face
"As expected." he bows again & walks pass me, he places a hand on my shoulder & looks back at me "Good luck, old friend." I gasp when he called me that
"From 3rd to 1st, we here by announce you as the Sy--"
"Wait!!" I interrupted them just as they were about to slam the mallet down, everyone looks at me as I take a deep breath "I... I appreciate it that you think of me as the Symbol of Peace, really its an honor...! But, I'm afraid that I'm going to have to turn that down."
"WHAT?!?"
"B-But--" I raise my hand as I shook my head
"I'd rather keep the reason why I don't want to be the Symbol of Peace & secret, & its only fair if Endeavor took All Might's place, but if it makes you feel any better I don't mind taking 2nd place. With that, I'll be taking my leave. Ha det." I salute them, turn around & walk away but before I did I pat Endeavor on the back "& this isn't out of pity either, Enji."
(End Flashback)
"Maaaan...! Its all over the news." I groan as I stare at my phone, I flop down onto my back as I stare up at the ceiling with my hand on the edge of the couch, I look at my phone before immediately looking away & letting it dangle. Ever since I turned down the title of "Symbol of Peace" the fucking media went crazy! We still have a week off school but fucking hell, I sat up & rub my forehead "There's to much stress on my shoulders..."
"Then maybe you shouldn't call in all your sidekicks, including the Heroic 8."
"No, this meeting is important KAREN." she went silent for a bit
"I got results back from when you were in the hospital." I nodded my head, I expected to hear something along the lines that I made a miraculous comeback or something like that... but I heard something I didn't want to hear "They confirmed that you do indeed have PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)."
"... stop it..."
"I apologize for going behind your back but I was only doing it for your own good."
"Stop..."
"Its unhealthy, young miss. What would your parents say?" at that comment I completely lost it, I throw my phone on the ground it actually made the ground crack, I look up at her with so much rage in my eyes as tears began to fall
"How the fuck should I know?! They've been dead for 15 fucking years! & you never told me the truth until I developed my quirk! What would have happened if I turned out quirkless? Would you still keep the truth from me?"
"N-No, Chri--" I cut her off by turning her home system off
"I'm going out, don't wait for me." with that I was out the door
= Third Person =
Chris found herself sitting on a bench in a park, she watched as people played around happily, chatted away like they weren't gonna see each other until 3 years. Her lip quivered as she watched a family laugh together like it was the best thing, she rested her elbows onto her legs as she leaned into her hands
'Where are the other 5 quirks?!'
'What do you mean, Dad?'
'She only has 7 right now, & she's 10 right now! Your sister already at all 11 of them in the bag when she was her age!'
'Stop comparing Christian to Morgana, Dad! She's dead!'
'All because of that one!'
'I-I'm sorry... bestefar...'
'That's enough out of you! I don't want to see your face!'
'Dad! Don't yell at her! Its not her fault that... t-that Morgana is dead.'
"This is killing me..." she felt tears fall & she watched as they landed on the concrete floor, staining it "... this really is kill me..." she goes to sob but then she felt a nudge on her foot, she gasps & looks down, to her surprise she saw a pure white puppy
"Woof!" she looked around to see if anyone was looking for a dog but it didn't seem like it, she looked down at it before picking it up, it stared at her before licking her face, though the puppy had actually wiped the tears
"Eh haha, okay you, stop." it whined before shaking its tail & nudging his head under her chin, she giggled when she felt it licking where her scar was, which was the one that was visibly shown on the left side of her jaw "Stop that, I need to see if you have a collar." it whimpered this time as she checked it's neck "Bark if your a boy, don't if your a girl."
"Woof woof!!" now he wouldn't stop yapping
"Calm down." she said sternly, he did "Hmm, you have no collar though its seems like your somewhat trained." she sat him down on her lap "Do you belong to someone?" that made him whine as he scratched behind his ear with his paw, she thought for a bit
'If I have PTSD... does that mean I can get a service dog?' she looked at him & see that he somewhat smiled up at her, she smiled back
"How does it sound if I take you home with me instead?" he nodded his head while shaking his tail
"Woof woof!" she smiled but a scowl made its way to her face, the puppy noticed so he tilted his head to the side in a way of saying 'whats the matter', she saw this & waved her hand at him
"Its nothing, lets go... um, how does Captain sound?" he nodded his head & jumped off her lap, he jumped up & down a few times just as she stood up & started walking so he ran to her side while yapping. She smiled down at him before looking back up, it took awhile to get back to her house & that was the reason why she was carrying him, though she hadn't noticed that she was actually at that park for a couple hours
'I don't want to face KAREN after lashing out at her, & I don't even want to turn her back on because I know she'll rant on about a few things.' she shook her head as she entered her house & set Captain down on the couch
"Now, what do dogs need?"
(Lazy Time Skip)
Captain woke up a few hours later when he saw his new master walking into the room he was in with a few things in her arms, she hadn't noticed her was awake until he was up & about while barking. Her concentrated face looked over at him & a warm smile came onto her face, he jumped off the couch he was on but accidentally fell onto his face
"Oh dear!" she goes to put the things down but he jumped back up with a happy look before running over & pressing himself against her leg, she chuckles as she sets the things down & picks him up "Did you miss me?" he barked happily while licking her face, she laughs again
'He kinda reminds me of my other two dogs in Norway.'
You heard right, in Norway she has two other dogs! One that is a Norwegian Elkhound named Balto & another that's a Leonberger named Hercules, they named him that because he grew to be a very large & very strong dog compared to Balto, who was a very fast dog
"We're gonna have a bath, or most likely you." right now she had her sleeves & pants pulled up so they wouldn't get wet as she sat on a stool while washing, she also had her hair tied back "It seems that you like the water, huh Captain?" he barked happily, she looked away for a bit just as a bubble floated into his eyesight so the first thing that came into his head was to bite it
"Woof woof, bark!!" she looked over & saw that he was growling at the bubbles, she giggled until it turned into a laughter, he stared at her with confusion before looking at the bubbles & growling again
"Oh stop it, they won't harm you sweetness." he seemed to have pouted at that, right now she was sitting on her bed with him in her lap as she was drying him with a towel. With her other hand she had a new phone since she literally smashed her other one, she scowled at the memory as she redid all of her contacts "That took forever."
"Bark bark!"
"What happened to woof sweetness?" then there was a sudden ding so she looks at her phone

She tossed her phone aside before ruffled Captain's head, he happily barked. She was a little impressed with Arawa, he was close cause she will be discussing with her other higher up sidekicks about who would be taking who on different missions, but this time they will be in different pairs then from before
"That means someone has to look after you, Captain." she thought for bit before shrugging "I'll just make a hologram to keep you company, hmm?" she tilted his head again before nodding his head, she smiled at that before going over to her desk & doing something
She sighed a bit, she had complete control of KAREN's mainframe & she could easily play god, so that's what she was doing. She found her memories & flicked through the ones that had happened a few hours ago, she clicked on them but then thought for a moment again...
"I really do hate doing this... but this is for our own good..." she muttered before throwing them in the trashcan & deleting them forever "Now let's turn her back on." & now she was back online
"You turned me off? Why? Did something happen?" she thought for a bit
"Mm! If I hadn't, then a virus would have entered your mainframe." she lied... she hates lying
"Oh dear, maybe I should upgrade my system." Chris nodded her head "& also, your--"
"I know I have PTSD." KAREN looked at her with widened eyes "That's why I got a service dog!" she cheered as she gestured to the sweet little puppy on her bed, who barked when he was being acknowledged
"You got a dog, young miss?" she nodded her head with a fake grin
"Its stress relief."
