I had just laid my little brother down for bed and he wasn't happy about it. He was crying loudly but eventually it died down. It was late and my little sister and parents were out at her softball game. I sat on the couch and read when a pounding on the door made me fall off. I peeked out the window at the persistent pounding. No one there. The noise was definitely coming from that area of the house. I cursed loudly in every colorful word that came to mind as I scrambled to the far side of the living room. Then I realized my brother's room was by the door. He'd been hitting the wall with his crib. I shook my head and sat back on the couch with a cookie, my heart still going a mile a minute.
