"Take care srishti"Kumari came to drop off srishti. She gave back a smile and a nod.
"Raju drop her back safely okay?"
Jai nodded like a good boy. He was himself surprised that his mom was letting him go along with srishti. Although she almost hurt his eardrums when she heard that he had come outside his home.
Srishti was tensed that he was coming along with her. To drop her back. She followed him quietly towards the car after bidding bye to kumari. Jai again opened the door for her making her feel bad again. She stood still. Looking at him
"What happened?"he asked when she didn't move
"Sir..you...you don't have to..do this..I mean you should not...open the door for me"she said making him smile
"Why? I'm not feeling bad at all. And you're my guest srishti. Get inside"he said. She looked on for a moment before getting inside. Jai closed the door behind and walked to the other side. She hoped and prayed that he would sit in the front leaving her alone in the backseat. But he didn't. He occupied the seat besides her. Making her palms cold again. The driver started the car.
Srishti just prayed to get back as soon as possible. She barely had any idea how to take forward a conversation. She cursed herself for spoiling the moments. Which she believed she would never get again in her life. She kept looking outside the window.
He looked at her twice. To see her looking outside without sparing him a glance. His eyes fell on her hands which was holding her stole tightly. He chuckled lightly
"Hm..Srishti?"
"Huh?"she was startled hearing her name and looked at him
"I'm I making you feel so uncomfortable?"he asked and she widened her eyes. Smacking herself mentally for ignoring him even though she didn't had any idea how to face him.
"No no..sir"she said and he nodded.
"I know you are a bit nervous. I came to see you without even informing you. I took you home and you met my mother. You might require time to accept it I guess"he read her mind so easily.
"Ye..yeah"she said and bit her lip
"You alright?"he asked again
"I'm fine sir"she said and he smiled
"Great"he said and looked outside the window. Srishti too looked away. Wanting to say something which had been bothering her. After few minutes of battling to herself she decided to speak.
"S..sir?"she called him softly and he quickly looked at her.
"Yeah?"
"Can you..can you just drop me back home? I don't want to go back to college"she said. She needed lots of time and she was sure that if she gets back to college. Everything will be messed up again. She couldn't share it with anyone.
"Why? Srishti Ive picked you up from there and promised to drop you back in an hour. Your teacher's will be worried if they won't find you"he said
"It's okay sir..I..I can call my friends and..inform them once I get back home. You don't have to worry"she said
"You sure?"
"Ye..yes sir"she said.
"Okay fine"
Srishti told her address to the driver. Jai wanted to know why she was heading back to home now. Is it because of him? He was concerned but at the same time he stopped himself from asking further. He wanted her to talk with him. When she looked at him after a minute he was already looking at her. Making her lower her head
"Why did you shout my name that day?"he asked making her heart skip a beat.
"Um..I..Because I..."
Jai saw her tapping the back of her palms nervously. Realising that he's causing trouble again
"It's okay. I was just curious to know. You know when I saw you today morning I was really surprised. And you won't believe it. Yesterday I somehow had a strange feeling that you're the one who'd saved me from accident. I mean I do remember your face from that function. So it was just a guess and I was right"he said and she listened to him. Feeling surprised. She just smiled without even meeting his eyes.
"You are really brave Srishti. I mean, no one really stepped forward to save me when I met with an accident. I know because I faintly remember few things. You've taken me to the hospital at the right time. You've saved my life. You're really brave at heart. Thanks again"he said and she looked at him
"No sir. I did what I felt right..and I'm glad...that you're safe and...out of danger"she spoke slowly. He smiled
"Can I ask you something?"he asked
"Yeah..sure sir"
"Are you my fan?"he asked making her breath stuck in her lungs. How much she wished to confess excitedly that she was his biggest fan for real. Her nervousness was not helping her.
But before she could answer Jai's Mobile starting ringing and he attended the call. She breathed in relief. He got busy with the call. She prayed to get back to her house as soon as possible.
By the time jai finished his call, they already reached her house. Srishti asked the driver to drive a little more front and stopped a bit away from her house.
"Why did you ask to stop here?"jai asked
"Sir...I'm a normal girl..and you're a big star. If people over here spot us together. I don't know what all they would think. I don't..want to cause you any trouble"she said and jai smiled.
"Oh yeah. I can understand"
"Thank you sir"
"You're welcome and yeah thank you, for coming with me. Spending some time with me. It was great meeting you srishti. Take care"he said she wanted to jump in happiness.
"Sure sir. And...you too please take care"
"Yeah"he smiled.
She got down from the car. And stopped thinking something. She didnt call him inside. He was coming there for the first time. She smacked her head. Turning towards him again.
"Sir i..actually.."
"Yeah srishti?"
"You can..I mean if you have time please come inside?"she asked. Even though she had mixed emotions inside her head. He smiled at her sweetly
"Actually I wish to meet your family too. But some other time definitely"he said making her feel disappointed. Somewhere inside. But she just smiled at him
"Sure sir. Bye. It was...great meeting you"she said nervously
"It was great meeting you too Srishti. Bye. Take care"he smiled waving at her
"Bye sir"she smiled widely. Waving at him. The car started off and she kept looking at it. Waving her hand. Until it was out of her sight.
She walked towards her house. Her legs barely helping her. Recalling all the happenings of today. She wondered whether this was a dream. Did such a day exist? She feared she would open her eyes at some point and realise that all this was just a dream. It didn't happen. It was real. He was real. He was here for her.
"Srishti"Radhikas voice took her back to sense.
"Amma?"
"Why are you so early today?"her mom asked. She wondered whether to tell her or not. But realised that may be, she might not believe. And would call her mad for blabbering such things. She was used to it
"Um..I was not feeling well so I came early"she said.
"What?"radhika touched her head and neck. She was cold. Like ice.
"You seems to be fine. Dont tell me that you skipped your class to roam around with your boyfriend "she raised her eyebrows. Srishti widened her eyes and glared at her mother
"Amma..I do not have a boyfriend for god's sake. I'm not feeling well so I came. I'm gonna take rest. Please don't disturb me"she scoffed and walked upstairs
"Srishti..take some medicines at least. Oh god this girl!"
Srishti walked towards her room. Getting inside locking herself. She removed her stole and threw it on the couch. And dropped herself in the bed with closed eyes. Her heart was still beating so fast. She was sweating. Her palms were cold. She did meet him for real.
She recalled his smile. The way he talked looking into her eyes. Making her loose herself. Feeling jitters all over her spine. She sat upright in the bed folding her legs with widened eyes.
"I...I just met him. Freaking wow I MET HIM"she screamed excitedly and fell on the bed again. Smiling her heart out.
Jai on the other side was on his way back home. He was thinking about srishti all the while. Wondering why she was feeling so difficult in talking to him. She didn't ask for a selfie neither for an autograph. But he knew that deep inside she admired him a lot. May be..he too wanted that? She was just like any other ordinary girl. But why was he bothered about her. He wanted to meet her and he did. But he felt that she was special. In some way. He didn't know why he was feeling like that.
When he returned back. Kumari was sitting in the living room doing something in her laptop. She noticed him coming inside.
"Raju? Did you drop her back?"she asked and he nodded. Sitting besides her
"Yes ma. She wanted to go back home so I dropped her there"he said
"Did you meet her parents?"Kumari asked and he shook his head
"No ma. Already she was in the daze of meeting me. And her parents too would barely have any idea about me. So I thought it's better not to go"he said
"Hm you liked her?"Kumari asked with a tease.
"Yeah she's quite lovely. She's so...wait. Are you teasing me?"he asked with knit brows. Making Kumari laugh
"Maa. You won't change don't you?"he scoffed. She pulled his cheek
"No I'm asking you seriously. How did you feel after meeting her?"she asked and he smiled
"Quite good. I mean she's different maa. I felt bad because she didn't talk to me properly but I was glad that I met her. I can think from her side too. She was so nervous and scared after meeting me. After the accident phase also she might be terrified. But she's so simple ma. I don't know but I feel like she's totally different from all other girls. I have no idea whether she's my fan or not but..yeah. She's different and special"he said And kumari had no words to say.
She was hearing her son complimenting a girl. Describing her. How he felt for the first time. She'd heard him praising his female co stars. But something like this never happened. Jai noticed his mom sitting with wide eyes. He sighed inwardly. He knew what she was thinking
"Maa please don't get any ideas for god's sake. I told you just because you asked me so"he said she composed herself
"Yeah yeah. Jai..I was also thinking the same thing. She's such a nice girl. I liked her so much"Kumari said and he nodded with a smile.
"Fine your highness. Let me freshen up. I'm so tired"he said and walked upstairs. Kumari smiled looking at him. Wondering if srishti was his soulmate. Or whether it was just her illusion.
