Alec stared out the window at the streets of Brooklyn. The moving cars, the walking mundanes, the night sky. He's been staring out the window for hours. Magnus has been in the kitchen, making chamomile tea. Alec hasn't been this quiet in...Well forever.
Magnus puts down his mug and makes his way over to his grieving boyfriend. He places his hands on the shadowhunters shoulders. He massages the shadowhunters back, releasing the tension from his shoulders.
"Alec it wasn't your fault. You didn't know anything bad was going to happen." Alec just stuffs his hands into his pocket and huffs.
"My parabatai rune is gone Magnus, you don't understand how I feel."
Magnus continues to rub soothing circles on his back. "I know. And I'm here to comfort you."
