❝You win some, you lose some.❞

"Come and sit down," Isabelle sang when she heard a knock on her room's door.

A couple of days had passed since Gael caught the sight of the Blue Star in an early morning, which meant that the crew was about to find the island of Ramandu.

"Why do I feel like my room is the place of rendezvous?" Isabelle mumbled when Caspian, Lucy and Edmund stepped into her room. She put down the book she had in her hands and looked at them with her brow raised. "What can I help you with?"

"We just thought you might want some company. You have been in here alone the whole day," Lucy said as she sat down next to her.

"Fine," Isabelle narrowed her eyes and reached out for her phone to turn the music's volume down, but Edmund grabbed it and did it instead of her. Surprisingly, he succeeded in handling the phone's volume. He was quite interested in the modern technology, as Isabelle noticed. "Thanks," she told him.

"What does this mean?" Caspian asked.

Isabelle looked at his direction and saw him holding her notebook she left on the edge of the bed. She kept that with herself in school, although they didn't use notebooks. She just had it to write down ideas, dreams, goals, basically anything. "Sanguemisto Principessa. It's Half-blood princess in Italian."

"Why Half-blood princess?" Lucy asked.

"In the wizarding world, there are Pure-bloods, Half-bloods, and Muggle-borns. Pure-bloods are with wizard predecessors. Muggle-borns are the ones with Muggle parents. And Half-bloods are mixed. In my case, my dad's line is Pure-blood, while my mum is a Muggle-born. That makes me a Half-blood."

"Interesting," Caspian stated and put the notebook back to where he found it.

"Whatcha doing?" Isabelle asked Edmund who still had her phone in his hand and looked quite busy with it. "Please tell me you're not scrolling through my pictures."

"I might," he replied with a smirk, not looking away from the screen. "Who's this guy?" He turned the phone into the girl's direction when a particular photo aroused curiosity in him.

"Bloody hell," Isabelle cursed as she saw the picture of Eric and her. She didn't even know she still had that picture. "That's me posing with a trash can." She grimaced as the happy and bad memories flashed in front of her eyes.

"Is he your boyfriend?" Lucy asked.

"Was," Isabelle corrected her with her index finger up. "Thank Merlin it's over."

"Why?" Caspian questioned.

"He- I- we-" the girl couldn't say a normal sentence as her mind became overwhelmed by the memories, so she pressed her lips together into a thin line and frowned.

"Did he hurt you?" Edmund asked, and to Isabelle's surprise, he sounded kind of angry.

"Not physically." She sighed. Lucy grabbed her hand and squeezed it. As Isabelle looked at her, she smiled sadly.

"What did he do?" Caspian bent down in front of Isabelle. The situation reminded the witch of a brother-sister relationship as she watched him. The protective big brother interrogating the heartbroken sister about her ex-boyfriend, getting ready in mind to beat up the douchebag. Unfortunately, she never had the chance to experience that, having no male family member.

"Shortly, he started dating me because he wanted to win a bet. The bet was to," Isabelle spoke but couldn't finish," you know." Eventually, they realised what she was trying to tell, and all of them frowned, one angrily, one disgustedly, one uneasily. "Everyone thought he would fail because Albus and Scorpius are always with me, and they would go overprotective. But Eric was smart. He didn't just bring me to bed, he made me fall in love with him. So when we started dating, he didn't seem threatening to Al and Scorp."

"He played with you, didn't he?" Lucy sighed. "He doesn't seem very threatening in the picture."

"That's because he's a good actor. Really. We were kind of enemies before we got together, I don't exactly know why, maybe the rivalry between our houses caused it, I'm not sure. But he made me believe that he loves me after years of being at each other's throats. I was an idiot for believing."

"You were not an idiot. You were in love," Lucy comforted the sad girl.

"Look what it caused. When I found out the real reason of our relationship, I wasn't sure I would be able to trust again."

"I would like to go to your world and break his neck," Caspian said angrily.

"That's not necessary. He got what he deserved," Isabelle faintly smiled.

"Let me guess, Scorpius and Albus weren't happy when they found out?" Lucy grinned.

"Yeah, he was lucky though, he only got a broken nose from me and some bruises from the boys."

Caspian opened his mouth in surprise. "You broke his nose?" he quietly chuckled.

Isabelle nodded with a grin. "Yep."

"Why am I not surprised?" Edmund asked, looking down at her with hidden pride in his eyes.

The witch shrugged with a shy smile. "Anyway, I'm absolutely over him," she told them assertively. She almost spat out that she loved someone else but remembered that the certain someone else was standing in the same room.

Lucy shared a look with Caspian. They both knew that the girl moved on, but only one of them was sure who was its reason.

"No, not that video!" Isabelle jumped out of the bed quickly as the music stopped and she heard the beginning of a video.

Around Christmas the year before, the big families were together in the Burrow as always, and Isabelle made Scorpius and Albus watch Frozen with her that night. The three of them decided to do a Frozen medley for fun, and let's say it was fun to do, but she wouldn't have shown it to anyone.

Isabelle wanted to hide her face behind her hands as the video started, but as soon as Scorpius started singing 'Do You Want To Build a Snowman', her eyes fell on the screen with a huge grin across her face, and she didn't even pay attention to the other three's reactions. Then, on the video, Isabelle continued singing Anna's second solo, and Albus followed her singing the third one. After that, Isabelle sang a bit from 'For The First Time In Forever' and Scorpius joined her at 'Love Is An Open Door'. Albus finished the medley with the one and only 'Let It Go'.

"That was hilarious," Caspian grinned after the video ended. "All three of you have good voices."

"My aunt is a music teacher, what do you expect? Dare I say, the Potter family isn't musically talented, so it was a surprise that Albus can sing. And Scorpius is Scorpius." Isabelle laughed. "The perfect boy," she said with a thick French accent.

Although her mother didn't raise her as a French-speaking girl, Isabelle had an accent every now and then, and she found it kind of weird. But maybe it was in her blood.

"What was that accent?" Lucy looked at her with an amused smile.

"Sorry for that. My mum is French and sometimes I have an accent because of that."

"Do you speak the language?" Caspian asked.

"I do, but it's not my native language. I learned it."

All of their eyes went wide. "You learned it? Out of pleasure?"

"Yes, why?" Isabelle shrugged.

"Why would you want to learn a totally different language?" Edmund raised a brow.

"Why not? I love learning languages. It's like I gain personalities by learning them. With every language, there's a new me," Isabelle explained with empathy. She was obsessed with learning languages, and she couldn't even hide it, not that she tempted to do that.

"What languages do you know?" Lucy asked curiously.

"Portuguese, French, German and Russian. And I would like to learn Italian. But French is my favourite and that is the one I know best. The other three is too raw, shall I say that."

"Probably because of your mother," Caspian brought up.

"Yeah, probably," Isabelle nodded.

"By the way, how tall Scorpius is?" Lucy asked, which made them all look at her strangely. "What? He seems very tall to me."

"I know right. I am quite tall as you've probably acknowledged, and I actually have the same height as Albus, but Scorpius looks like a freaking skyscraper next to me," Isabelle told her with a grin. "Now, gimme my phone before you reveal things you shouldn't," she reached to take the device from Edmund.

"No, wait!" he pulled it further. "Do you have any singing videos?"

"I'm not sure. Why?" she knitted her brows, not understanding why he asked that.

"You have a good voice," he shrugged. "It's good to listen to it."

"Oh," Isabelle opened her mouth slightly in surprise and noticed Lucy grinning like a crazy Muggle, but she ignored it. "I actually have one," she remembered.

Edmund handed her the phone, and Isabelle opened the gallery, searching for the video she was thinking of, while Lucy continued eyeing the two with the same grin on her face.

"Gotcha," Isabelle smiled lightly and pressed 'play' after she opened it. The video was a performance in the music school, a performance her aunt arranged.

"I know this song!" Lucy let out a whoop of joy as Isabelle started singing on the video and her voice filled the room from the Bluetooth speaker.

"Yes, it's from," Edmund was thinking for a second, "I think, yes, 'The Wizard of Oz'. That movie," he added and continued watching the video. As he said it Isabelle realised that the movie came out around the 30s-40s, which meant they had probably seen it since they were alive then.

"You look beautiful in that dress. I haven't seen you wearing one," Caspian complimented her after the video ended.

"Thanks. That's because I hate dresses. I don't know how I would survive in your world," Isabelle looked at Lucy and Edmund.

"Your Majesty," someone opened the door, interrupting the conversation. It was Drinian. "We caught a sight of Ramandu's Island."
