Link's POV
Taking a deep breath, I twisted the handle and pushed the oversized door open. With a loud groan, the door swung slowly aside.
As I thought, he was waiting for me, perched on the banister. And when my eyes met his, I felt a strange combination of emotions was over me. Fear. Hatred. Anger. And then... Desire?
And then I saw Impa.
She sat slumped against the wall, her hands tied together behind her back. When she looked up and saw me, she offered me a sad smile before looking down again.
"Nice to see you again, Linky! Our day apart was heartbreaking, let's never let it happen again!"
He disappeared in a shower of diamonds, and I tensed. As I expected, he reappeared behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist, putting his head on my shoulder. I could feel his warm breath against my ears, as his hand trailer lower...
"Please... let Impa go. I was true to my end of the deal, now it's time for you to follow through with your promise"
"Awfully demanding, aren't we Skychild? I don't think you're in any position to be making requests of me. But since you brought it up, it's my pleasure to let you know that I will indeed free this Sheikah you care about so much. Just not right now"
"But that's not fair!" I yelled, struggling to get out of his hold. "You promised!"
He sighed out of what I could only imagine was frustration. "I promised I'd free her, I didn't say when. She's not going anywhere until I have ensured you, so to speak. She can go free when you can't anymore"
I wanted to scream. Cry. Kick him. Curl up and hide, all at the same time. But instead, I resorted to a simple "I hate you".
"Maybe. But your conscious mind will soon realise what your body and subconscious mind already know"
I stopped stopped struggling and sighed, defeated. There's nothing I can do but accept whatever he has planned for me. I'm not strong enough.
Glancing to where Impa was, my eyes met hers for the second time, and I couldn't help but notice the disappointment in them.
And it didn't go unnoticed by Ghirahim.
"Oh, what's this? Got something to say, Sheikah? Go ahead, spit it out!"
She shook her head slowly looking at the floor, mirroring the disappointment in her eyes as she got up awkwardly to her feet. "So you're speaking freely now, Link? Do you understand what this means? Do you know how serious this is? You may as well have sworn allegiance to Demise and Ghirahim whilst you were at it. I guess you don't care about the Goddess anymore, not now you have him to keep you warm at night"
My brows furrowed in confusion. "Impa I... Of course I still care about and serve the Goddess! But I couldn't just leave you here, knowing he'd do awful things to you if I didn't come back!"
"You're only here because you'd feel guilty if you didn't come. Tell me I'm wrong"
"I-" I didn't know how to respond. Was that the reason I came back?
No- I came back to save her, because that's my sworn duty as a hero. I didn't come out of guilt, though I would feel bad if something happened to her that I could have prevented.
"I grow bored of this idle chit-chat. Let's get on with the binding ritual then, shall we? Don't worry Linky, I'll make it as intimate as possible, just for you~"
"Please, not yet! I'm not ready, please, I'm begging you!" I pleaded, but my objections fell on deaf ears. A leash was clipped to my collar, and I stumbled as he tugged on it, making me walk over towards Impa.
"Don't try anything funny, either of you, or I'll have to punish dear Linky for your actions. Come then, you walk ahead, Sheikah"
I whimpered as I thought about what was to happened to me. How did this mess even start? One day I was carefree in Skyloft, the next I'm about to be bound to the self-proclaimed demon lord for life...
I don't know if Impa has a plan or not, but I can't just let this happen. This is something that is going to change my life forever. I won't be my own person anymore.
But as far as I can see, there's no way out.
