it's deus ex machina
when i pick myself up from somewhere along the bottomless darkness
when things are not in place or too much so
it's a brine little thing
when the yellow flocks in my eyes swim when i want them to dig the way for my roots to hold fast
it's fluid disintegration
when my bubble bursts with violence
when i wait for the infection to pour out of my open wounds
so i can finally cry or so i can stop
it's thick tranquility
when the darkness burns with brilliant light into mean reds
as the sirens finally desert the street
when i unload
so i can dig the mutant roots out
and find a bottom to hit hard

when things are not in place
or too much so
the yellow flocks in my eyes start to swim
their dance throws me into bottomless destruction
and i let my roots dig infected soils
it's fluid disintegration
when i sink into the dirt and make beautiful things out of the brine worms and dead stems
it gets so poor
the darkness then burns with brilliant reds

but that's also just me
picking myself up from where i thought i was all good
i tear my wounds open and pore over the infection as it pours out
so i can finally cry or so i can stop
it's thick tranquility
as i hear the sirens desert the street and leave me to look at myself again
the yellow flocks dance still
but i unload whatever moves my hands
and i dig the mutant roots out
and find a bottom to hit hard
