❝ i had a plan too ❞
Alexa POV
IN the boys' locker room, I was standing with Peter, Aaron, and Derek in the shadows, waiting for everyone to leave the locker room.
"Why exactly did you change clothes?" Peter asked me
"Well as much as I love that skirt and how it looks on me, it's not very convenient to fight in." I replied
"But-" Peter started
"Shut up." Derek hissed
After everyone left, Scott ripped someone's locker off and grabbed a shirt and a shoe. He handed the shoe to Isaac.
"But how come you get his shirt and I get a shoe?" Isaac asked
Scott went to argue when Derek, Aaron, and I stepped out from the shadows.
"We need to talk." Derek said
I put my hands on my hips as Peter came out.
"All of us." Peter said
"Holy sh... What the hell is this?" Scott asked
"You know, I thought the same thing when I saw you talking to Gerard at the sheriff's station." Derek replied
"Okay, hold on." Scott argued
He shook his head.
"He threatened to kill my mom. And I had to get close to him. What was I supposed to do?" Scott asked
"I'm gonna go with Scott on this one. Have you seen his mom? She's gorgeous." Peter said
"Shut up. " Scott and Derek growled
They both glared at Peter. Isaac leaned towards Scott.
"Who is he?" Isaac whispered
"That's Peter, Derek's Uncle. Little while back, he tried to kill us all, and then we set him on fire, and Derek slashed his throat." Scott explained
"Hi." Peter said
Peter waved at Isaac.
"That's good to know." Isaac said
"How is he alive?" Scott asked
"Look, the short version is he knows how to stop Jackson. And maybe how to save him." Derek said
He crossed his arms looking at Isaac and Scott.
"Well, that's very helpful except Jackson's dead." Isaac said
I looked at Isaac in shock.
"What?" I asked
"Yeah, Jackson's dead. It just happened on the field." Scott replied
"Okay, why is no one taking this as good news?" Isaac asked
"Because if Jackson is dead, it didn't just happen. Gerard wanted it to happen." Peter said
He sighed.
"But why?" Aaron asked
"Well, that's exactly what we need to figure out." Peter said
Peter stepped forward with his hands behind his back.
"And something tells me the window of opportunity is closing. Quickly." Peter said
At the old Hale house, we walk in and Scott looked down at his phone.
"Oh. Oh, they found Stiles." Scott said
"I told you, I looked everywhere." Derek said
"You didn't look here." Peter said
Peter walked over to the stairs, opened a compartment on one of the stairs, and grabbed a briefcase.
"What is that, a book?" Derek asked
"No. It's a laptop. What century are you living in? A few days after I got out of the coma, I transferred everything that we had. Fortunately, the Argents aren't the only ones that keep records." Peter said
Peter headed to the next room and Derek, Isaac, Aaron, and I follow. Scott's phone rang and he stayed behind in the other room to answer it.
Later, Aaron, Scott, and Isaac left to see what's going on with Jackson, while Derek, Peter, and I stayed to research information on the Kanima. Peter is using the laptop while Derek is on the phone with Scott.
"They say he's in some kind of transparent casing made from the venom coming out of his claws." Derek relayed to us
"That sounds sufficiently terrifying." Peter said
"They also say he's starting to move." Derek said
Derek put his phone down on the table.
"Okay, look, I think I found something. Looks like what we've seen from Jackson is just the kanima's beta shape." Peter said
"Well, meaning what? It can turn into something bigger?" Derek asked
Peter's eyes got big and he leaned back.
"Bigger and badder." Peter said
"He's turning into that? That has wings." I said
"I can see that." Peter said
I picked up Derek's phone.
"Scott, bring him to us." I said
"I'm not sure if we have time for that." Scott said
"Look, somebody actually made an animation of it. Maybe it's less frightening if we-" Peter started
Peter hit play on the animation. We started seeing the transformation and the Kanima screeched, before Peter shut the laptop. Derek and I looked at each other, freaked out.
"Nope, not at all. We should probably meet them halfway." Peter said
"Scott, get him out of there now - go now." I said
Derek, Peter, and I started to leave the house.
"Derek, we need Lydia." Peter said
"There's no time for-" Derek started
Peter put his finger up, shutting Derek up.
"That's the problem. We're rushing. We're moving too fast. And while everybody knows that a moving target is harder to hit, here we are, racing right into Gerard's crosshairs." Peter said
"If I get the chance to kill Jackson, I'm taking it." Derek said
He walked out of the house, and Peter and I followed him.
At Iron Works, Argent's car pulled up and Scott, Isaac, Aaron, and Argent came out with Jackson's body bag. I walked out of the shadows to them.
"I think he stopped moving." Isaac said
"Where's Derek?" Argent asked
Derek came running at us on all fours, finishing off with a flip and flashing his red, Alpha eyes at us. I rolled my eyes and shook my head, smiling.
"I'm here for Jackson. Not you." Argent said
"Somehow, I don't find that very comforting." Derek said
Derek nodded towards the warehouse.
"Get him inside." Derek said
Scott and Isaac took Jackson inside and laid him on the floor.
"Where are they?" Scott asked
"Who?" I asked
"Peter and Lydia." Scott said
I ignored Scott, and Derek walked over to the body bag and unzipped it.
"Whoa, hold on a second. You said you knew how to save him." Scott said
"We're past that." I said
"What about-" Scott started
Derek cut Scott off.
"Think about it, Scott. Gerard controls him now. He's turned Jackson into his own personal guard dog. And he set all of this in motion so that Jackson could get even bigger and more powerful." Derek said
"No. No, he wouldn't do that. If Jackson's a dog, he's turning rabid, and my father wouldn't let a rabid dog live." Argent said
"Of course not." A voice said
We all turn around and see Gerard.
"Anything that dangerous, that out of control - Is better off dead." Gerard said
I turn back to Jackson and see Derek about to slash Jackson's throat, but Jackson woke up and stabs Derek in the stomach.
"Derek!" I exclaimed
Jackson threw Derek about twenty feet away.
"Well done to the last, Scott. Like the concerned friend you are, you brought Jackson to Derek to save him. You just didn't realize that you were also bringing Derek to me." Gerard said
Three arrows, one right after the other, were shot and they hit me, Aaron, and Isaac in the shoulders.
"Allison?" Scott asked
Isaac, Aaron, and I pulled the arrows out of each other and we transform to join the fight. Derek growled and attacked the Kanima with a punch, but it blocks the punch and slashed Derek in the chest. I run behind it to try and catch it off guard but its tail grabbed me by the waist and threw me into a wall.
I get back up with a growl and I see Allison throw a bunch of knives at Isaac over and over again and he fell to the ground. She threw a few knives at me and Derek. She grabbed another one and prepared to throw at me again, but the Kanima grabbed her by the neck.
"No, Allison!" Scott exclaimed
"Not yet, sweetheart." Gerard said
"What are you doing?" Allison asked
I pulled the knives out of myself.
"He's doing what he came here to do." Scott said
"Then you know." Gerard said
"What's he talking about?" Allison asked
"It was the night outside the hospital, wasn't it, when I threatened your mother. I knew I saw something in your eyes. You could just smell it, couldn't you?" Gerard said
"He's dying." Isaac said, in realization
"I am. I have been for a while now. Unfortunately, science doesn't have a cure for cancer yet. But the supernatural does." Gerard said
"You monster." Argent said
"Not yet." Gerard said
"What are you doing?" Allison asked
"You'll kill her too?" Argent said
"When it comes to survival, I'd kill my own son! Scott." Gerard said
Gerard smiled at Scott and Scott looked at me then Derek. Scott walked over to Derek, turning back to human on the way, grabbed Derek's neck and brought him to his knees.
"Scott, what the hell are you doing?" I asked
"Scott, don't. You know that he's gonna kill me right after. He'll be an Alpha." Derek said
"That's true. But I think he already knows that, don't you, Scott? He knows that the ultimate prize is Allison. Do this small task for me, and they can be together. You are the only piece that doesn't fit, Derek. And in case you haven't learned yet, there is just no competing with young love." Gerard said
Gerard made his way over to Derek and Scott, rolling his sleeve up in the process.
"Scott don't, please!" I begged
I felt tears running down my face.
"Scott, don't! Don't!" Derek exclaimed
"I'm sorry. But I have to." Scott said
Scott pulled Derek's head back and Derek's mouth opened. Gerard placed his arm in Derek's mouth. Derek bit down on Gerard's forearm and Gerard screamed in pain as Derek fell to the floor. Gerard held up his arm in victory but black liquid started to come out of the bite.
"What the-" Aaron started
Gerard saw us all looking at his arm and he looked at it as well and saw the black liquid.
"What? What is this? What did you do?" Gerard exclaimed
"Everyone said Gerard always had a plan. I had a plan too." Scott said
"No. No." Gerard said
Gerard pulled out his pill case and poured the pills on his hand. Gerard crushed the pills in his hand, turning them into dust.
"Mountain ash!" Gerard exclaimed
Gerard's body started oozing from every opening in his body. Suddenly he vomited up the black liquid, before falling over.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Derek asked
"Because you might be an Alpha, but you're not mine." Scott said
Gerard started crawling away, spitting up the black liquid.
"Kill them! Kill them all!" Gerard ordered
He fell over, I think he's dead. The Kanima released Allison and she elbowed it in the face. In retaliation it pushed her down on the ground preparing to strike, when Stiles' jeep came through the wall and hit the Kanima
"Did I get him?" Stiles asked
The Kanima jumped up on the jeep and screeched.
"Whoa!" Stiles exclaimed
Lydia and Stiles rushed out of the car, Stiles ran behind us, while Lydia stood in front of the Kanima.
"Jackson! Jackson." Lydia said
"Lydia!" Stiles yelled
Scott grabbed Stiles.
"Wait." Scott said
Lydia held up a key to the Kanima's face and it halfway turned back to Jackson. Jackson took the key from Lydia, then looked at her. Derek and Peter ran towards Jackson and sank their claws into him. Derek backed away and stood next to me and I smiled at him. Isaac and Aaron made their way over to us and Derek grabbed Isaac's should and squeezed it comfortingly, while I hugged Aaron. Jackson fell to his knees and Lydia dropped to the ground next to him.
"Do you - do you still-" Jackson started
"I do. I do still love you. I do, I do still love you. I do. I do. I do still love you, I do." Lydia cried
Jackson died in Lydia's arms and Lydia continued to cry as she laid him down on the ground.
"Where's Gerard?" Allison asked
"He can't be far." Argent said
Lydia stood up and turned around, I see Jackson's hand start moving and his eyes opened. He stood up and leaned his head back and roared, he had claws and his eyes flashed blue. He turned back to human and Lydia ran to him as the two embraced. Derek wrapped his arm around my waist and gave me a quick peck on the lips. Stiles sniffed and I looked at him, raising an eyebrow.
"Scratched my jeep." Stiles said
I snorted and he walked back to his jeep.
