Today was the big day. There were no classes for anybody. Trey had come over to my dorm to pick me up.
"The mathathon is taking place at our school." Trey told me.
"Yeah, I know that." I told him. We took the elevator down to the school auditorium. The auditorium was packed with parents, siblings and teachers.
"You two finally made it." The teacher told us. "We need to have a group talk. Come over here to our table." He told us.
"Whatsup, boss?" Trey asked the teacher.
"I hope you all are concentrated and everyone is prepared." The teacher asked us.
"Yes. We can win this guys. All those weeks of studying better not go to waste."Jamal said excitingly.
I looked around and saw my mom, walking in the auditorium. She looked at me and flashed me a bright smile.
I waved back at her. Ciara and Jacob also walked in, and sat down in the back row. Ciara had Raine in her hand.
I waved at them. My phone vibrated in my pocket. I had received a message from Ciara.
Ciara: When do you want the plan to take place?
Kiara: There is gonna be three rounds in this activity. In the second round, tell Jacob that you have to go to the bathroom, then you can go.
Ciara: I hope this plan goes well...if I get caught...
Kiara: Trust me! Your not. Just act normal.
I slid my phone back into my pockets.
"You okay?" Trey asked me.
"Yeah, I'm fine."
Our math teacher handed us blue shirts, to represent our school.
"When are we going to get this thing started?" I asked myself.
As if on cue, the announcer said "Students, please take your places in on your podiums. The mathathon is about to begin!"
The teacher gave us a quick glance, and took his seat in the crowd. The audience was seated and not a sound was made.
"Welcome to our first annual mathathon," said the annoucer. "We are here today, to see two different colleges battle their knowledge in the area of math. The first set of students over in the blue shirts, are representing Justicelove College!"
The audience gave us a round of applause. The applause became even loud because of our friends- Ciara, Jacob, Raquan, Craig and some others- but the applause was loud.
"And on the other side in the red, we have Lovejustice college."
The audience gave them a round of applause, but it wasn't as loud as ours.
"Okay, shall we start? Here are the rules. There is a buzzer on each table. One person is going to have to buzz the buzzer when he or she, has found the answer. No cheating is allowed or else your team will be disqualified," The announcer explained.
"There are three rounds. The first two rounds containing 5 questions, while in the last round, one team member, has to go up on the white board and answer an extended response question. Everything clear?"
"Yes." We all replied.
"Okay, get ready. First question, for what value of the constant K does the equation 2x + Kx = 3 have one solution?"
I worked out the problem in my book. I looked over at Trey, was leaning over the press the buzzer, but the other team had already pressed theirs.
"To answer this question, first solve for x to obtain: x = 3/(2 + k) The given equation has one solution for all real values of k not equal to
-2." A girl said.
"That is correct!" The announcer said. That was an easy question, so they get one point.
"Next question, for what value of the constant K does the equation Kx2 + 2x = 1 have two real solutions?" The announcer asked.
Three seconds later, the other team pressed their buzzer, and answered the question correctly.
"That scores two points for Lovejustice college and no points for Justicelove." The announcer said.
Our teacher seemed frustrated. The announcer asked three more questions, which ended round one.
"Let's look at the score board. In the lead, is Lovejustice college with four points, and Justicelove high school with one. Some real catching up is needed! Time for our five minute break."
Our math teacher came up on stage.
"What is going on here? Didn't you guys say we were going to win?" He asked us.
"We did, but do you are how quick they buzz their buzzer?" Kim asked.
"I don't care! You guys have to pick up your pace!" He spat at us.
I glanced over at where Ciara and Jacob was seated. Ciara had got up, and walked out the auditorium. I smiled a little, and just stood there.
"Psst, Kiara." I heard somebody say.
"What?"
It was Trey. "Look at the other team."
I looked at the other direction, and saw that their teacher was giving them some sort of device to put in their ears. The device wasn't really visible.
I gasped. "They are cheating."
"Exactly. We have to expose them, before they win."
"Yes. I think I have a plan."
I brought out my phone from my pockets, and looked up Jacobs number from my contacts.
(Ciara's POV)
"Jacob, I have to back to my room for something." I told Jacob.
"Aight."
I got up. "Ma, where are you going?" Raine asked me, before I left.
"I'm going upstairs. I'll be right back in a few," I told her. "Jacob is going to watch you."
"Okay."
I walked out the auditorium. I walked to the dormitory area, and made sure that everywhere was cleared of anybody.
"Okay Ciara. You're not going to get caught." I thought to myself.
I continued walking, and I finally reached the door. While taking a deep breath, I stretched forward to opened the door.
My fingers touched the knob and I turned it. It was opened. My eyes widened.
As soon I the door opened, and voice scared me.
"Excuse me miss, but what are you doing?"
I turned around, and my eyes met a man, that looked exactly like Trey.
"Uh...I was just trying to get to my friends room. I was just visiting and I had to run up and get my bag." I lied.
The man seemed to go with my lie. He shook his head. "Just don't enter there. It is not for people like you." He said as he walked away.
Once the man was out of sight, I decided to try again. I put my hands on the knob, and turned it. The door opened! It was actually opened and I could see what was in there!
I looked inside.
"Wait...there is nothing special about this room." I said to myself. Inside was just a bed, a dresser, and a bathroom. It looked like a regular dorm, but it was as big as an apartment building.
"No way." I said. There was a table filled with roses and a candle, that wasn't lit. This place looks as if it was set up for a date or something.
Since nothing really interesting was in here, I decided to just leave. Maybe after the mathathon, I'll tell Kiara about this.

Hey guy! I couldn't update yesterday, because I didn't have time and the chapter wasn't ready so...
We have some cheater up in here, right? What is Kiara gonna do? She has a lotta tricks up her sleeve.
Well, now you guys know what is behind that door. NOTHING. But maybe it is made for something.
Never know. I'm almost about to end this book though. Next chapter is the last chapter, hopefully. Then after that, is another chapter, that has to do with the book. :)
