(Liv's POV)
It had been almost 3 weeks since I had sent in my admission form for Landon College and I still hadn't heard back from them
The longer I waited, the more I convinced myself that I wouldn't get in
For now I started taking online classes while trying to keep up with all my work. My aunt was right about one thing, if I kept on going to school, with so many bruises, people would start asking more questions
There was nothing that I would like more, than to see that son of a bitch, locked up, but my aunt was all I had left and I wouldn't hurt her like that...I couldn't
It was better to take online classes, than get my aunt and uncle into problems
I wouldn't lie, it's hard to work and keep 3 jobs, but I would get my aunt out of this place, if it was the last thing I did in my life
I was determined to make sure I had a better life than this
I wanted my aunt to quit working, I wanted my uncle to get some help for his drinking problem, I wanted a better home and a better neighborhood, I wanted a better everything for us
The only way I would accomplish that, was to get an education and get a better job
I had to get out of this place...I had too
As I quickly walked, in the dead of night, I heard a snap behind me
I turned around, but there was nothing. Of course, it wasn't like I could actually see anything. The only source of light I had, was a lamp post and the moon
I tired back around and walked a little bit faster
There was another snap, this time louder and closer
I took a deep breath and nearly sprinted away
"Hey!" I felt someone grab my shoulder and pull me back
I was yanked around to find Hunter, one of the biggest pompous assholes in the apartment building
I growled and tired to pull away from him
"Hunter, you scared me half to death! How many times do I have to tell you not to touch me" I asked him, looking up into his blue eyes
A smile crept onto his face
"Aww, come on baby, why you gotta be like that? Don't tell me the rumors of 'Liv the Virgin' is true?" he asked mockingly, letting go of me
"My virginity is my business" I said and started walking away from him
"Liv, don't get mad. If you want, I can help you get rid of that title for you" he came close to me, touching my sides again
I smacked his hand away
"What did I just say?" I growled, taking a step back
His eyes had darkened and all signs of humanity, were gone
"N-no, get off of me" I said, shoving his body away from me, as he pressed himself onto me
The more I pushed him away, the more he pulled me, closer to him
"Let go of me" I grunted, scratching the side of his face
He completely let go of me and held onto his marked face
"Agh, you bitch" he held the right side of his face and cursed me
I didn't stick around, long enough for him to say anything else
Sadly, my advantage didn't last long
He had grabbed me by the hair and slammed me into the stone cold wall
It had started drizzling outside
Before all of this, I was walking from my job as one of the dance instructors
A few years ago, I was dancing on the streets with some friends and a dance teacher saw me
He asked me to come to one of his rehearsals and I did
He later ended up asking me to teach some of the kids how to dance and them I got a job with him
Now, I was about 15 minutes away from my house
I would have taken my motor bike, but the engine wasn't working
Of course, this was just my luck
"Come here" he growled, grabbing me and pushing me against the wall, harder this time
I hissed out in pain as my body collided against the wet wall
Hunter put his hand, under my shirt, touching my stomach
"Let me go, let go of me. Please, let me go" I yelled, trying to push him off of me, but he was too strong for me
I tried to kick him, but he was holding me forcefully against him
"Let....me....go" I yelled, but he just ripped my shirt open
The buttons on my shirt flew, as his hands explored my flat stomach
I squeezed my eyes shut, begging for someone to help me
Before I could yell again, Hunters weight was lifted off of me and I fell to the floor
Water pounding on my limp body
(James' POV)
I was driving home from the school that I worked at, while it was pouring rain
I was trying to finish grading some papers that I had left over
When I turned the corner of the sketchy part of town, I saw a girl and a guy making out against the wall of a dance studio
"Kids" I huffed out, rolling my eyes
I stopped at a red light, having a perfect view of the young couple
I looked at the rear view mirror
The red light had turned back to green, signaling for me to keep going, but I couldn't
The girl was pulled back into the mans arms, by her hair
She was screaming
I quickly took my seatbelt off, opening my door and running towards the young girl and the man that was trying to rip her shirt off
"Let....me...go!" The girls voice sounded pained and scared
Her shirt was now completely off and showing her black bra and smooth stomach
I pushed myself harder, to get to her even faster
When I got to her, her eyes were clamped shut
I grabbed the man by the neck and pushed him on he ground, punching his face repeatedly
I kicked him in the ribs and kicked his face
I was sure his nose was broken, as blood splattered on the bed concrete
Once he was unconscious, I ran to the girl, placing my hand over her arm lightly
She flinched back, away from my touch
"Hey, it's okay. I won't hurt you" I promised her, getting down on knees
She slowly opened her eyes, not looking at me at first, but soon looking up to meet my eyes
"Are you hurt? He didn't hurt you did he?" I asked her
Just looking at her broken blue eyes, hurt my heart
I was hurt to know that she was in pain because of some asshole that couldn't keep it in his pants
It seemed as though she wanted to say something, but couldn't
"Hey, it's alright. I swear, I won't hurt you" I told her
(Liv's POV)
I didn't want to open my eyes, I couldn't open my eyes
I felt someone put their hand lightly on my arm
I flinch back, not wanting anyone to touch me
"Hey, it's okay. I won't hurt you, I promise" his low raspy voice rang through my ears
I slowly opened my eyes, not looking up at the man, who saved my life
"Are you alright? He didn't hurt you did he?" He asked, his hazel eyes looking into mine with true concern
I wanted to say that I was fine, but I knew it was a lie, I knew that if I opened my mouth, I would start crying
"Hey it's alright. I swear, I won't hurt you" he said, putting his hand lightly on my shoulder
Without thinking, I slowly started to cuddle up into the strangers chest, crying
I felt him slowly wrap his arms around me, engulfing me in his warmth. Feeling more comfortable than I had ever felt in my life and I started closing my eyes
(James' POV)
Without saying a word, she came close to me and laid her head on my chest, crying
A pang of guilt surfed through my body, as I thought about what I said in the car
How could I think that this girl was like the other girls, that were off partying all the time
I was going to drive off and let her get hurt by that man
Thankfully, I had stopped
Now, I slowly wrapped my arms around the weeping girl, as she got closer to me
Soon her breaths had evened out, the crying had stopped, and she was no longer shaking
I couldn't think straight, all I wanted was to protect this young innocent girl, so I did the first thing that came to my mind
I took the sleeping girl, home with me
