Later that day...
"Chloe I don't know what to wear!" I panicked.
"Umm..." she pondered as she went through my closet. "Aha!"
She pulled out a little strapless white dress with a silver band on the waist.
"I don't know..." I said.
"Oh come on you'll look great! Think about how much Jake would LOVE to see you in this!"
I remained silent.
"Just put it on." She threw it at me and pushed me into the bathroom to get changed. And that I did. It looked better than I thought it would. Chloe helped me accessorize with a black and white bracelet and a silver necklace. I put my hair up in a high ponytail with a small poof in the front. I did my normal eyeliner and mascara when it came to makeup, but I winged my eyeliner and used a little foundation to look a little nicer. As I gave myself one more look in the mirror, there was a knock on the front door. I heard my mom open it.
"You must be Jake," I heard her say to him. To which he replied, "That's me."
"Come in. She'll be right down."
I took this opportunity to take one last breath before descending down the stairs where I saw Jake waiting. He looked very handsome in his white polo shirt and khakis with white shoes. A creak was made by a step and his head swung up and his eyes widened as I got to the bottom of the stairs.
"Y-You look amazing." He awed. I felt my cheeks get warm.
"Thank you. You look pretty good yourself." I commented.
"Ready to go?" He asked, holding his arm out to loop around mine.
"Haha yup." I looped my arm as we headed for the door.
"Have fun, you two!" My mom yelled from the kitchen.
"Bye Mom!" I yelled back.
"We'll be soon, Mrs. Merrick!" Jake said.
We walked to his car and he opened it for me waiting for me to get in. I smiled and got inside and he shut the door making his way to the other side. He hopped in, started the car, gave me a big smile, and we drove off.
The ride was silent the first half. I decided to break the silence. "So where are we going?"
"Now it wouldn't be a surprise if I told you now would it?" He smirked while still watching the road.
"Aw you're killing me with this suspense." I complained.
"Haha. It's only a little farther I promise."
He was right. Only about five minutes later, we pulled up to a small semi-formal restaurant.
"This place is so cute!" I squealed as he opened my car door.
He smiled. "I thought you'd like it."
We walked in, hand in hand, and he asked for a table for two. We were brought to a table and sat down.
I'm gonna fast forward past the date.
We arrived back to my house with full, satisfied stomachs.
"Aw man that was good." Jake commented.
"Yeah it was."
He looked at me and smiled. "I had fun tonight."
I smiled back. "Me too. Well I should probably get going." I opened the car door.
"Here. Let me walk you to the house." He suggested, opening his door too.
We walked up the stone walkway and he slipped his hand into mine. I hesitated at first, but relaxed. When we got to the door, we just turned to look at eachother. "Kyla," Jake started. "We've known eachother for a while and this was something I've wanted to say for a while but I was too scared to. But not anymore. Kyla, will you be my girlfriend?"
I immeadiatly smile and say with all the confidence in the world, "Yes."
