D E S C R I P T I O N
Katya Elizabeth Collins doesn't want to be mended. She's a half-working machine, doomed by all her parts; tainted with the grease of remnant emotions, a system riddled with too many memories to properly function. Her heart beats, a fragment of ice in her body, stripped of the happiness to thaw the glacier clinging to her insides and freezing her inside-out.
Caspian Lucas is a broken mirror. His shattered fragments litter the ground, jagged reflections of everything so fragile, so detrimental. He's the blood on cuts you don't know you have, the scabs concealed beneath plasters and years of toughening up that never really heal. He's the walls built, sky-high, jagged wire and broken glass and being in reach of something you can't have.
But there's a solitude in laying down your weapons. Shutting yourself off, crouching to the ground with your arms around your knees and watching the world whizz by in a blur, while you stand still, and look on. Loose bolts and bad luck; pride the crown too small for your head, digging into your scalp, and the handcuffs of your arms, dragging you 'till you flounder, in an ocean of everything that you've shed, everything you've loved and lost and miss.
Two years ago, they capsized, torn apart by opposing currents that ripped through their flesh, starting them anew.
And now, they're devils and angels, with their hands on the oars, wading through the water, in the same boat once more.
