AUSTIN POV
I could tell Alan's comment upset Jade but I just blew it off and made a joke out of it. Jade wears a purity ring and I respect that. I'd never force her into anything and I think she trusts me. Alan walked off and I sat up with Jade and gave her a soft quick kiss on the lips which made her smile and forget about the comment. I had to remind myself that she doesn't know Alan as well as I do.
Within the next 10 minutes all the guys showed up and we were all sitting outside on my back patio roasting the marshmallows that Alan had brought.
"Oh hey! You haven't met Phil! Phil.... Jade.... Jade.... Phil." Tino said as they shook hands.
"Oh hey! I've heard a lot about you!" Phil exclaimed as he hugged her.
"All good I hope!" Jade said with a concerned laugh.
"Nothing less than amazing!" Phil laughed.
"Awww well aren't you guys just the sweetest." Jade said with a sarcastic smirk.
"By the way thank you so much for doing this. It means a lot to us." Aaron said being the serious mature one as usual.
"No problemo señor! Thank YOU for the opportunity!! I can't believe this is actually happening!"
"Believe it! And you DESERVE this opportunity!" I said pulling her back to me into a hug. She burried her head in my shoulder smiling against me.
"How did I ever manage to get myself a guy like you?"
"You were born." I said joking. All the guys were talking when Jade suggested we play some music. I grabbed my stereo and plugged my phone into it playing some Rascall Flats. Tino raised his marshmallow in the air saying, "TO THE BEST TOUR EVER!" and Alan raised his saying, "TO THE BESTEST MERCH GIRL WE'VE EVER HAD!" We all raised our skewers in the air causing Jade's sleeve to fall as I saw Aaron's eyes grow as he noticed Jade's bandaged wrist. He looked to me and I just shook me head. We all cheered and I asked Jade to go grab us some monster which she gladly did skipping to the music into the kitchen.
Aaron looked to me and just flat out said, "What happened?" I replied saying, "It's a long story. I'll explain later." Phil, confused, chimed in and said, "What?" Aaron just patted his wrist and all of the guys instantly knew what he meant. Jade came back out with 6 monsters and handed them to each guy before sitting on my lap with hers. I wrapped my arms around her and said, "So what do you want to do?"
"Scary stories!" All the guys laughed and Alan said, "I HAVE ONE! And it's really short." We nodded and he continued to say, "Me going... wait for it... BALD!!" Everyone laughed then slightly cringed at the thought of a bald Alan. Just then Jade's phone rang and her face changed as she got up and ran in the house answering the phone.
JADE POV
Just as Alan finished his "scary story" My phone rang. It was Adam's number... What the hell did he want?
"What?" -J
"Hello?" -A
"What do you want Adam?" -J
"Is it true?" -A
"Is what true?" -J
"Are you dating that band guy? Are you?" -A
"Yes. I am. And he's a thousand times better for me than you ever were. GO. AWAY. Seriously." -J
"Jade. I'm in love with you." -A
"Adam I've heard it before! I-"
"PLEASE! Just give me one more chance! What did I even do?!" -A
"Douche bag, you know what YOU did. And HELL NO you can't have another chance! Just leave me alone!" -J
"No I don't! And I'm in love with you! I won't just give up!" -A
"If you loved me you'd accept the fact that I'm happy with Austin and you'd LEAVE US ALOOONE!" -J
"I can't! I can't just let you walk away!" -A
"FUCK OFF ADAM!" -J
"No!" -A
"FUCK THIS!" I screamed as I hung up and threw my phone at the couch. I was seething in anger. Why can't he just leave me alone?! Today has been such a mix. Started off great with Austin, turned to shit with my uncle, got a lot better with the guys, then Adam of all people just HAD to call me. Austin must have heard me scream because he came running to me with a look of pure worry on his face.
"Adam called me..."
"What did that prick want?"
"To know if I was actually with you. Then to tell me that he's in love with me, that he doesn't know what he did, to ask for another chance, to basically just be a douche. JUST what I needed today."
"Hon, I'll never let him hurt you.. EVER. I love you. I mean it. And I will never ever force you into anything. I know I've already told you this, but I think it's something I can say a thousand times over without you fully understanding how much I mean it."
"I know... Thank you." I said as I pulled him into a hug. Austin kissed my forehead and said, "Warning you now, Aaron saw your arm. He brought it up when you got the drinks so the guys know. I didn't say what happened. I figured if you wanted them to know that you would tell them."
"Alright... How did he know?"
"When we toasted with our marshmallows your sleeve fell enough for him to see the bandage."
"Oh..." I said pulling my sleeve back down.
"Hon it's okay the guys won't judge."
"Alright I'll go tell them now. And I'll tell Carter. Maybe tomorrow depending on what time we pick him up and how tired he is." Austin smiled and pulled me into a tight hug before saying, "I'm so proud of you. I know that is taking a lot. But I think you're going to feel so much better after he knows." I hugged him back kissing his chest lightly over his scar.
"Hey guys! Is everything alright?" I heard Alan say from behind us. I wiped a tear from my eye and said, "Yeah coming right now." Alan smiled and came over to hug me and whispered, "It'll be okay." into my ear and I smiled hugging him back and whispering, "I know". We walked back out with me in Austin's arms and Alan yelling, "LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! Mr. and Mrs. Carlile!" All the guys busted up laughing as Austin and I blushed laughing as Austin carried me bridal style through the back door. I point my toes, straightened one of my legs, and put out my arm to play along and Austin just shook his head and sat down with me.
"How long were you two in there?" Phil said laughing. Austin laughed along and I got the guys attention to say, "On a serious note, I know you guys saw my arm."
"I'm sorry! I wasn't trying to look!" Aaron said worried.
"No no it's fine. I needed to tell you guys anyways. I have suffered from self harm and various mental illnesses ever since elementary school. I was clean for a long time but today something happened. It had nothing to do with any of you. My uncle, who molested me at an early age, showed up randomly today when Austin and I were at the beach. That's why we're having this here. On the phone was my one, and only, ex boyfriend calling me to basically just be a douche. I broke it off years ago because he took things too far even though he knew how I felt about it and how I had been molested and had an experience with an attempted rape by a guy who was stalking me. My brother, as all of you know, is in the hospital and so I've just been stressed out and I broke down. Austin was there for me and I'm just glad I'm with you guys tonight. I've been staying here while Carter is in the hospital because I don't want to be alone at my house. So that's the story. Sorry that it was long." All of the guys just sat there wide-eyed with their jaws hanging open. Finally Aaron spoke up and said, "Jade I am so. SO. Sorry. No one should ever have to go through so much. Just know that we all love you and you can always talk to us."
"You always have been... Indirectly of course. Ever since late high school when you guys started, your music has helped me through a lot."
"Well now we get to help you in person." Tino said smiling.
"Thanks guys. It really means a lot to me."
"No problem!" Alan yelled out and the rest of the guys joined in.
