We ended up going to a yogurt place nearby. Since I drove Mom's car and Corbin drove his, we both drove separately to the yogurt place. After we ordered and got our yogurt, we decided to sit outside. Why not right? It's a sunny day after all.

"What is your dream?" I asks Corbin.

"I don't have any," he simply replied, taking a spoonful of yogurt to his mouth.

I stare at him. "Don't lie. Everyone's got a dream no matter how silly it is."

"What's yours?" Corbin asks.

I grin before answering, "To live happily with my family and be proud of who I am and what I do." As soon as the words left my mouth, he snickers at my cliche response.

"If the world was perfect like that, people like me wouldn't have existed." I frown at his comment.

"Corbin Foxx, destroying lives one person at a time."

"Hazel Reyes, fantasizing one day at a time."

Yeah, that's me.

A thought occurred to me and I asks, "That day you told me you were fine with dying alone. Why is that? Do you think you're incapable of love?" Corbin looks at me with a blank expression. I can never tell what he's thinking.

After a few seconds passed, he respond, "Don't think about it too much or your head might explode."

I continue to stare at him while he lower his head, avoiding eye contact, and eating his yogurt.

I sigh and let out a smile, "I think I've finally figured you out now, Corbin Foxx."

"Oh yeah?" He raise his eyebrow in amusement. I nod my head yes.

"You don't let people in because you're afraid to love too much. You don't want to get hurt. You're also afraid of the idea of someone loving you too much because you don't want them to suffer after you're gone so you hurt them instead of letting them get close to you." I cross my arms and sit back while Corbin stare at me intently.

"What I don't get is why? Why are you so afraid of love?" I asks, my voice laced with curiosity.

Corbin stares at me, emotionless.

A few seconds pass and there's nothing but silence between us as I stare at Corbin with anticipation for his response. If someone were to walk past by us, they'll think we're having a staring contest right now.

Corbin let out a sigh, put his arms on the table dividing us, and lean in. His emotionless expression turn into a cocky smirk. My eyebrows furrow in confusion.

He finally breaks the silence, "You're wrong. I'm not afraid of love."

I snicker and scoff at his response. "You're seriously such a bad liar." I know he's afraid.

He grin at me, satisfied with my reaction to his response. "Why do you always have to insist on being right? Can't you be wrong for once in your life?"

"But I am right."

"No, you're not."

"Whatever," I continue eating my yogurt.

"Tell me about your family," I asks Corbin. I haven't heard him talk about them at all.

"There's nothing to say."

"Can't you at least answer it? You're the one who said we need to be civil," I reason with him. If he wants us to actually get to know each other, he needs to be willing to answer and participate.

He let out a breath of annoyance before answering, "My mom passed away when I was 10. My dad remarried when I was 15. I have a 6 year old stepsister." His answer was short and brief. He flash me a fake smile as if saying 'are you happy now?' I mock him and fake him a smile in return.

"Now tell me about your family," Corbin says, not wanting to talk about his family anymore.

"My mom's a stay at home mom. My dad's a lawyer. I have two older brother and a younger sister," I answer. If he doesn't want to talk about his family, I won't too.

"So are you going to continue the family business and join your father's company after you're done with college?" I asks.

"Most likely," he shrug.

I narrow my eyes at him in suspicion. "Is that what you want to do?"

"It's not like I have a choice." My eyes soften at his respond.

"Why not?"

"You wouldn't understand."

I open my mouth, about to say something but the ringing of my phone stopped me.

I look at my phone and my face brightens up immediately. It's Lucas calling.

I look at Corbin to see him staring at me in curiosity. I turn away from him and answer my phone.

"Hey," I say over the phone. We haven't talked since the fight. He texted me about being suspended from school for a week for starting the fight but that was it.

"Hey, wanna go to a party tonight?" He asks.

"Ummm..." I mutter.

He hears the hesitation in my voice and says, "Come on. It's a Saturday. You can do your homework on Sunday. And plus, I won't be at school next week so we might not see each other for a whole week." He does make a good point.

I give in, "Fine. Pick me up?"

"Of course." I can imagine him smiling. "Bye, Hazel." The call ends.

I turn back to Corbin to see him staring at me in annoyance. "Let me guess, Princess Peach?" I roll my eyes at him and get up.

"I think we've done enough talking for today," I say and get up from my chair.

"Bye," I say before going to the parking lot.
