this time, i shove the note in josh's backpack while he's throwing his trash away at lunch. jake smiles broadly at me and i blush.
after school i walk to the park, sending my mom a text that ill be home late. not that she cares much.
i sit on the swing, gently kicking at the ground. i hear josh's car pull up, and my heart feels like its going to fall out of my throat.
he walks up to me with a confused smile on his face. "hey, ty. what're you doing here?"
i stand up and walk until im about a foot away from him. "what're you doing here?" i repeat his question and pull my bottom lip between my teeth.
"i was supposed to be meeting some-"
and i kiss him.
