Jerome's POV
Pain.
Pain is all I feel.
It hurts so much, it's killing me.
I can hear faint voices around me, but I'm in too much pain to do anything.
"This sh- d- tri-." Seto's voice says.
I feel a hand on my chin, sending more pain through my body, then a cold liquid going down my throat.
A second later, the pain subsides and I pass out.
I wake up to Mitch's worried face.
"Mitch?" I croak.
"Hey biggums." he whispers.
"Where are we?" I grunt, sitting up.
"In a safe house. You killed king squid and saved us all."
"Cool." I whisper.
"Everyone else is asleep, speaking of I should probably go to sleep too." Mitch sighs.
"You can sleep here if you want, I don't mind." I whisper, holding out an arm.
He smiles and lays down next to me.
"Thanks Biggums." he whispers.
"No prob." I smile, wrapping my raised arm around him."
He falls asleep almost instantly.
I sigh and stare at the ceiling.
Mitch starts to squirm a little and he buries himself in my fur.
"Good night, biggums." I whisper before falling asleep again.
Mitch's POV (Before Jerome Wakes up)
Everyone's asleep but me.
I can't sleep no matter how hard I try.
Jerome is constantly on my mind.
'Do I like him in that way?'
I shake my head.
'There's no way! we've been friends since the beginning.'
I stare at his sleeping form, pain sketched all over his face.
I lean over his face, looking for any sign of being awake.
Jerome stirs and looks me in the eyes.
"Mitch?" He croaks.
"Hey biggums." I whisper.
"Where are we?" He grunts, sitting up.
"In a safe house. You killed king squid and saved us all."
"Cool." He whispers.
"Everyone else is asleep, speaking of I should probably go to sleep too." I sigh.
"You can sleep here if you want, I don't mind." He whispers, holding out an arm.
I smile and lay down next to him.
